Transcription

Tariq Ramadan wrote the bald-faced lie that Mohammad never struck a woman well perhaps little Aisha was still a child, but Mohammad hit her hard in the chest causing her great pain. His violence to females women and children, Muslim or infidel, didn t stop there. His behaviour and his revelations of allah s dictates set the pattern for the extreme violence towards females found in Islam and fully endorsed in text and law. Domestic violence ie beating wives is a RIGHT given by allah, practised and stated by Mohammad and legitimated in Islamic law. To the beating must be added other forms of domestic violence paedophilia, clitoridectomy and ploughing women as fields along with restrictions and abusive terms for females. Mohammad instigated sadistic punishments for females and displayed great sadism to infidel females including children. Such sadism, following the fine example of Mohammad can be found across the Islamic world and is brought into the west by Islamic immigration. One might expect Tariq Ramadan, Professor of Islamic studies at Oxford University to know and tell the truth about Mohammad s behaviour or has Oxford sunk so low that Islamic taqiyya (lying) now passes for academic integrity. Tariq Ramadan s so called reformism has been called fundamentalism in disguise Ramadan has been accused of wilful confusion and double language and King (2010) notes the STRETCH required to accommodate Ramadan s comments on the position of women in Islam (where we see his fundamentalism, confusion and double talk in full swing)- Ramadan- 1) There are indeed texts (one verse and hence some Prophetic traditions) that refer to striking one s wife: I quote them because Muslims read and quote those texts. 2) Here are the interpretations that have been suggested, from the most literalist, which justify striking women in the Koran, to the most reformist, which read this verse in the light of the global message and contextualise the verse and Prophetic traditions as well as taking their chronology into account 3) In light of those interpretations and considering the examples set by the prophet, who NEVER struck a woman, I say that domestic violence contradicts Islamic teachings and that such behaviour must be condemned. *Are we to believe that (FALSE) claims about Mohammad s behaviour over-rule the dictates of allah which are VERY CLEAR. The Koran is the literal truth straight from allah and there are two verses that tell men to beat their wives, not 1. Allah s dictates last for eternity. *Also, it is a LIE that Mohammad never struck a woman ---or perhaps little Aisha was still a child (married and enjoyed) when Mohammad struck her hard so Ramadan wriggles out of his lie this way or perhaps this devout Muslim, Professor of Islamic studies at Oxford University is 1 / 10

in fact ignorant of Islam s text and laws. Allah, Mohammad, and Islam s laws ALL fully endorse the beating of women, a practice Mohammad indulged in along with a variety of other acts of violence to females. There is more than a few prophetic traditions. *Tariq tries to limit domestic violence to beating hoping we all ignore the vile other forms of domestic violence allowed in Islam and the violence in general against women and girls. *It should also be noted that there is no historical context in the Koran. The suras are arranged biggest to smallest and Muslims, using the sira written at least 150 years later and hadiths collected 200 or more years later to try to determine any order or historical context and they disagree. Domestic violence and Mohammad: 1) Beating: Mohammad struck little Aisha HARD, yet she was his favourite: Usually I abbreviate this but I think it s important to read the full story for you to see the innocent act Aisha committed, the violence of Mohammad and the sadism as he says did you think that allah and his apostle would deal unfairly with you ie this violence is a just punishment endorsed by allah! ***Muslim Book 4, Number 2127: Muhammad b. Qais said (to the people): Should I not narrate to you (a hadith of the Holy Prophet) on my authority and on the authority of my mother? We thought that he meant the mother who had given him birth. He (Muhammad b. Qais) then reported that it was 'A'isha who had narrated this: Should I not narrate to you about myself and about the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him)? We said: Yes. She said: When it was my turn for Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) to spend the night with me, he turned his side, put on his mantle and took off his shoes and placed them near his feet, and spread the corner of his shawl on his bed and then lay down till he thought that I had gone to sleep. He took hold of his mantle slowly and put on the shoes slowly, and opened the door and went out and then closed it lightly. I covered my head, put on my veil and tightened my waist wrapper, and then went out following his steps till he reached Baqi'. He stood there and he stood for a long time. He then lifted his hands three times, and then returned and I also returned. He hastened his steps and I also hastened my steps. He ran and I too ran. He came (to the house) and I also came (to the house). I, however, preceded him and I entered (the house), and as I lay down in the bed, he (the Holy Prophet) entered the (house), and said: Why is it, O 'A'isha, that you are out of breath? I said: There is nothing. He said: Tell me or the Subtle and the Aware would inform me. I said: Messenger of Allah, may my father and mother be ransom for you, and then I told him (the whole story ). He said: Was it the darkness (of your shadow) that I saw in front of me? I said: Yes. He struck me on the chest which caused me pain, and then said: Did you think that Allah and His Apostle would deal unjustly with you? She said: Whatsoever the people conceal, Allah will know it. He said: Gabriel came to me when you saw me... 2 / 10

Isn t this sick! Mohammad pretends that Gabriel told him that Aisha was there. Mohammad strikes Aisha even though she told him the truth ---and what great crime had she committed! Wily Muslims of course quote the following text often while ignoring the text above. ***Muslim Book 30, Number 5756: 'A'isha reported that Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) never beat anyone with his hand, neither a woman nor a servant, but only, in the case when he had been fighting in the cause of Allah and he never took revenge for anything unless the things made inviolable by Allah were made violable; he then took revenge for Allah, the Exalted and Glorious. This statement is NOT inconsistent with the one above as Mohammad may not have struck Aisha with his hand. Watch the film of the Taliban whacking females in the street - they use a whip or short rod so Mohammad could have hit Aisha with an object so he didn t hurt his precious hand. Or he could have hit her after she had made this statement. Note also in the above text the endless exceptions well Mohammad didn t except when... Muslims will point out the few hadiths that say don t hit but will fail to point out that Mohammad OVERRULED such hadiths and said men could beat their wives and added the ultimate legitimation allah revealed to him the text that says men can beat their wives. ***Abu Dawud book 11, Number 2141: Narrated Abdullah ibn AbuDhubab: Iyas ibn Abdullah ibn AbuDhubab reported the Apostle of Allah (peace_be_upon_him) as saying: Do not beat Allah's handmaidens, but when Umar came to the Apostle of Allah (peace_be_upon_him) and said: Women have become emboldened towards their husbands, he (the Prophet) gave permission to beat them. Then many women came round the family of the Apostle of Allah (peace_be_upon_him) complaining against their husbands. So the Apostle of Allah (peace_be_upon_him) said: Many women have gone round Muhammad's family complaining against their husbands. They are not the best among you. Don't complain about being beaten! Other hadiths say don t hit on the face eg ***Abu Dawud book 11, Number 2137:... do not strike her on the face,... 3 / 10

***Abu Dawud, Book 11, Number 2142, Narrated Umar ibn al-khattab: The Prophet (PBUH) said: A man will not be asked as to why he beat his wife. But didn t Mohammad say be kind to women yes and he added to beat them if they disobey --no doubt as a kindness to ensure they remain good Muslim women! Mohammad s kindness includes beating. ***Tirmidhi 104 Narrated Amr ibn al-ahwas al-jushami : Amr heard the Prophet (peace be upon him) say in his farewell address on the eve of his Last Pilgrimage, after he had glorified and praised Allah, he cautioned his followers: 'Listen! Treat women kindly; they are like prisoners in your hands. Beyond this you do not owe anything from them. Should they be guilty of flagrant misbehaviour, you may remove them from your beds, an d BEAT them... (he says re women s rights..)...their right is that you should treat them well in the matter of food and clothing. (ALIM CDRom) The speech is reported in the Sira by Ibn Ishaq (Mohammad s first biography) p 651. Men are told that if women are unseemly, to beat them but not with severity (HA, HA) And women are prisoners with you having no control of their persons. ***Bukhari Volume 6, Book 60, Number 466:...The Prophet then mentioned about the women (in his sermon). "It is not wise for anyone of you to lash his wife like a slave, for he might sleep with her the same evening." Ie lash the wife but not quite as hard as you lash your slave Enslave and flog ***Abu-Dawud Book 11, Number 2126: Narrated Basrah: A man from the Ansar called Basrah said: I married a virgin woman in her veil. When I entered upon her, I found her pregnant. (I mentioned this to the Prophet). The Prophet (peace_be_upon_him) said: She will get the dower, for you made her vagina lawful for you. The child will be your slave. When she has begotten (a child), flog her (according to the version of al-hasan). The version of Ibn AbusSari has: You people, flog her, or said: inflict hard punishment.. Aisha said the believing women suffered the most ***Bukhari Volume 7, Book 72, Number 715: Narrated 'Ikrima: Rifa'a divorced his wife whereupon 'AbdurRahman bin Az-Zubair Al-Qurazi married her. 'Aisha said that the lady (came), wearing a green veil (and complained to her (Aisha) of her husband and showed her a green spot on her skin caused by beating). It was the habit of ladies to support each other, so when Allah's Apostle came, 'Aisha said, "I have not seen any woman suffering as much as the believing women. Look! Her skin is 4 / 10

greener than her clothes! "... And in case you are still not convinced, allah himself says beat women on 2 occasions ***Koran sura 4.34 (2 translations) PICKTHAL: Men are in charge of women, because Allah hath made the one of them to excel the other, and because they spend of their property (for the support of women). So good women are the obedient, guarding in secret that which Allah hath guarded. As for those from whom ye fear rebellion, admonish them and banish them to beds apart, and scourge them. Then if they obey you, seek not a way against them. Lo! Allah is ever High, Exalted, Great. SHAKIR: Men are the maintainers of women because Allah has made some of them to excel others and because they spend out of their property; the good women are therefore obedient, guarding the unseen as Allah has guarded; and (as to) those on whose part you fear desertion, admonish them, and leave them alone in the sleeping-places and beat them ; then if they obey you, do not seek a way against them; surely Allah is High, Great. In a previous article ( Mohammad struck child wife Aisha HARD 4/4/09) an accurate translation of the word in question is given and it means beat/ scourge/ hit/whip/lash. Efforts to pretend otherwise are exposed as nothing more than lies to fool the west. The true text is in classical Arabic and Muslims CAN alter translations to sell to the west! The article also contains a story further displaying the threats Mohammad made against his wives. Note wives can be beaten even if men only FEAR rebellion! Allah also told Job to beat his wife ***Koran sura refers to Job s suffering and rewards- ***Koran sura And take in your hand a green branch and beat her with it and do not break your oath; surely We found him patient; most excellent the servant! Surely he was frequent in returning (to Allah). Islamic law gives men the RIGHT to beat females under a wide variety of circumstances (no laws give females the right to beat men) 5 / 10

f) Laws: Reliance of the Traveller: Shafii Law: * Law M10.12 p long law but, when a man sees signs of rebellion etc eg wife doesn't want to come to bed, or wife not kind, leaves the house without permission, doesn t obey or provide sex. etc he must warn her, not sleep with her 'and may hit her but not in a way that injures her, meaning break bones, wound her or cause blood to flow. (O: It is unlawful to strike another's face) He may hit her whether she is rebellious only once or whether more than once.. *Also Law o17.4 p619. A husband is entitled to discipline his wife for not giving him his rights (ie sex when he wants it see Law m5.1 p 525) Many other laws allowing beating, hitting, flogging. Muslims can BEAT CHILDREN from the age of 10 if they fail to perform the prayer (Reliance of the traveller, Law f1.2 p109, Abu Dawud hadith book 2, nos 494, 495). Mohammad sat and watched others slap his wives ***Muslim Book 9, No He (Hadrat 'Umar) said: I would say something which would make the Holy Prophet (may peace be upon him) laugh, so he said: Messenger of Allah, I wish you had seen (the treatment meted out to) the daughter of Khadija when you asked me some money, and I got up and slapped her on her neck. Allah's Messenge r (mav peace be upon him) laughed and said: They are around me as you see, asking for extra money. Abu Bakr (Allah be pleased with him) then got up went to 'A'isha (Allah be pleased with her) and slapped her on the neck, and ' Umar stood up before Hafsa and slapped her saying: You ask Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) which he does not possess. They said: By Allah, we do not ask Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) for anything he does not possess.... This story is recounted in the previous article Mohammad hit child wife Aisha Hard 4/4/09 showing that in this case Mohammad didn t need to hit his wives as others did and his wives were also ostracised. Mohammad threatened them with divorce and hell because they dared complain about his sex in an inappropriate place and time with the slave Maria. Mohammad went off and enjoyed his slave for a month, leaving his wives. But the domestic violence doesn t stop there 2) Peadophilia. We all know Mohammad was a practising paedophile who demanded a 6 year old be married 6 / 10

to him and raped her when she was a pre-pubescent 9 year old (lunar cycle possibly 8 using a solar cycle). Post marriage Aisha describes herself as pre-pubescent. She was a child and Islam s laws allow men to marry children as young as suckling babies and enjoy them! This is DOMESTIC VIOLENCE. The pain and suffering of these little girls is impossible to imagine and continues today. Some die (Reuters 2010) (see detail of text and laws describing and endorsing Mohammad s paedophilia in articles eg Islam and child marriage 22/5/07; Child marriage Mohammad s exemplary example 8/11/07; Massive worldwide paedophile ring untouched 11/4/08) ***Bukhari Volume 7, Book 62, Number 163: Narrated 'Aisha: The Prophet was screening me with his Rida' (garment covering the upper part of the body) while I was looking at the Ethiopians who were playing in the courtyard of the mosque. (I continued watching) till I was satisfied. So you may deduce from this event how a little girl (who has not reached the age of puberty ) who is eager to enjoy amusement should be treated in this respect. Allah in the Koran endorses paedophilia by stating there is no iddat (waiting period before remarriage) if you have NOT had sex (Koran 33.49) then setting an iddat of 3 months for girls who do not yet have periods (prepubescent) in Koran ) Clitoridectomy: Mohammad fully endorsed removal of the clitoris, telling clitoris cutter Umm Attia of Medina to continue her work. Aisha and others in the text frequently talk of the bath required when the circumcised female organ passes the circumcised male organ and restrictions during hajj etc. Clearly it was a common practice to cut out the clitoris. As Aisha speaks freely of this we can surmise that her clitoris had been cut out or why would she constantly, in many hadith, refer to the circumcised female organ. Clitoridectomy has been carried around the world by Islam, including into the west and is fully endorsed in Islamic law and even obligatory under Shafii sharia law. Please see articles such as Female Genital mutilation 18/4/07 and following parts 2, 3 and Clitoridectomy, Wikipedia, The Age and Islam 18/7/08...for the text and laws. Such a removal of the female s right and capacity to ever enjoy full sexual pleasure (orgasm) is undoubtedly Islamic domestic violence endorsed in text and laws. 4) Females are tilth to plough as a man wishes. Under Islam a man has the full right to his wife s body from her head to her toes to enjoy as HE wishes. Islamic law demands she be constantly available (Reliance law m 5.1 p525 or 5.6 p 526) or suffer the consequences! Muslim women cannot claim rape in marriage. *** Koran sura Your women are as your field/tilth- go unto (plough) them as you will. Muslim theologians concluded that a man could take his wife when he wanted and how he wanted, from the front or from the back as long as he ejaculated in the woman's vagina - (Ibn Warraq 'Why I am not a Muslim' p 304). 7 / 10

*** Abu Dawud Book 11, Number 2159: (Sodomy?- westernized explanation!!) Narrated Abdullah Ibn Abbas: Ibn Umar misunderstood (the Qur'anic verse, "So come to your tilth however you will")--may Allah forgive him. The fact is that this clan of the Ansar, who were idolaters, lived in the company of the Jews who were the people of the Book. They (the Ansar) accepted their superiority over themselves in respect of knowledge, and they followed most of their actions. The people of the Book (i.e. the Jews) used to have intercourse with their women on one side alone (i.e. lying on their backs). This was the most concealing position for (the vagina of) the women. This clan of the Ansar adopted this practice from them. But this tribe of the Quraysh used to uncover their women completely, and seek pleasure with them from in front and behind and laying them on their backs. (surely laying them on their backs is 'in front' so what does the phrase 'from in front and behind and laying them on their backs' mean??? If they were on their stomachs a woman could be attacked in the vagina or anus this isn't possible when on her back-and suggests that both occurred when the woman wasn't on her back!! -my addition)- cont.. When the muhajirun (the immigrants) came to Medina, a man married a woman of the Ansar. He began to do the same kind of action with her, but she disliked it, and said to him: We were approached on one side (i.e. lying on the back); do it so, otherwise keep away from me. This matter of theirs spread widely, and it reached the Apostle of Allah (peace_be_upon_him). So Allah, the Exalted, sent down the Qur'anic verse: "Your wives are a tilth to you, so come to your tilth however you will, &q uot; i.e. from in front, from behind or lying on the back. (The santized explanation ' this verse meant the place of the delivery of the child, i.e. the vagina.'!!! Is added to the end to make it palatable to westerners! Umar supposedly misunderstood. ) Mohammad s statement is not only highly ambiguous, it tells women they are low objects with no control over their body and can be used as a man wishes! *Laws: Reliance of the traveller: Law m5.4 p 526: A husband possess full right to enjoy his wife's person in what does not physically harm her. (add in brackets from top of head to her toes but anal intercourse forbidden!! Ie this is a later addition/explanation to the law by a translator). Removing the female s ownership and control of her body sets the scene for further domestic violence. Islam gives men the right to operate a huge array of restrictions on females which in my opinion constitute domestic violence -- which can be physical and psychological eg polyga my and instant divorce for men pits women against each other and makes them constantly insecure; control of movement (eg Reliance Law 10.4 p 538 the husband can forbid the wife from leaving the home); the demand that females cover from head to toe (Reliance Laws m2.3, m2.4, m2.7, m2.8 p ); the use of 8 / 10

derogatory terms and virtually every type of restriction. Allah said women are full of guile (Koran ). Mohammad declared women inferior in their intelligence and religion and ungrateful so they populate hell eg (***Bukhari Vol. 1, Book 6, Number 301; ***Bukhari Vol. 2, Book 18, Number 161; ***Abu Dawud Book 40 No.4662). Women are devils according to Mohammad (***Muslim Book 8, Number 324.) And it goes on with women as evil omens, evil like Eve, polluting, offensive, shameful, crooked..., Hardly conducive to respect and care for women who from birth are the property of some male. Islam s domestic violence is simply a small section of the wider violence against females practised by Mohammad and fully endorsed in text and law. Whether Mohammad carried out the deed himself or ordered it be done or praised others for committing the violence against females or claimed it was a dictate from allah is irrelevant. Violence against females, domestic or otherwise, is more than just OK in Islam, it is often the male s RIGHT. Part 2 examines more of Mohammad's violence against girls/women in general.
