Its essential components comprise committed teachers, enthusiastic staff, and a keen and devoted principal. Its core components consist of moral values and role models and its moving parts include ethical people who hold these morals. These people are entrusted with leading to these modes and upholding their values throughout their journey. This school is blessed with loyal friends and supportive volunteers who love and assist, generous donors who give with gratitude, a school board that serves, and ABCO who s always there for this school and this community. We also have a community who knows, deep down, that this school represents its essence and continuance, and a steadfast feeder for its future. In spite of the challenges, financial or otherwise, we had yet another wonderful school year. Thank you to all the worker bees who serve with love, all the known and unknown soldiers who ve been instrumental in educating our students, providing them with direction, and looking after their wellbeing. Special thanks to our dedicated teaching and supporting staff, and to our caring and devoted principal, Mrs. Rahal. 2 Graduation Ceremony - June 12 Our SK and grade 8 graduation ceremony takes place on Friday June 12 at the school gymnasium at 10:30 am. followed by refreshments and treats. Parents of SK and grade 8 students are invited. We look forward to this special event. Please note the following: Grade 8 & SK students will leave with their parents. Sibling of the graduates can attend and they will leave with their parents at the end of the graduation ceremony. Lost & Found We have a HUGE selection of Lost and Found items. Please take time to stop by the school and check if any items belong to your child. All unclaimed articles will be donated at the end of the school year. Last Day of School: Wednesday, June 17 is Half Day The final day of the school year is Wednesday, June 17. This will be a HALF DAY of school with students being dismissed at 12:00. Have a great summer! First Day of School is Tuesday September 1, 2015 for all students Early Departure? If you are planning to take an early summer vacation, Please be advised that: The school will not issue any kind of official documentation regarding student performance or achievement before the end of the school year. Tuition Fees for June must be paid in FULL Tuition is for the entire school year, and parents are expected to pay for the full school year. It is definitely NOT a monthly tuition system. For your convenience, however, we offer a monthly payment option. The June tuition payment is one of the 10 monthly payments that cover the full fees. It is not meant to cover the teaching days of June. Report Cards Elementary students: If your child is unable to pick up the report card on June 19. Please note that: Report cards left after June 19, will be held in the main office for pick up on the first week of school. Missing & Damaged Textbooks All school textbooks must be returned to the school. A school wide inventory of all subject areas will take place before yearend. Please assist your child in locating all texts and library books at home. In the event that your child is unable to locate the text(s) we will forward a note to your attention and respectfully request that you provide payment for the cost of replacing the items. Medication Pick-up ALL medication must be picked up by an adult at the end of the school year. Any medication left after the school year is over will be discarded. Please make arrangements to have an adult pick up your child s medication by the end of the school year. EQAO Teachers of Grades 3 and 6 have administered the provincial EQAO tests. This assessment will be marked in July and the Board, school and students results will be released in the fall. Sports Day June 15 On Monday, June 15, we will be holding our annual Sports Day from 9:00 to 12:00 noon, weather permitting insha Allah. Students will participate in a variety of cooperative races and fun events. It is very important that your child comes prepared with all of the items below. 1. Refillable water bottle. 2. Hat or sun visor. 3. Appropriate shoes. 4. Suntan lotion. This MUST be applied at home. 5. Healthy Lunch. In the event that Sports Day is cancelled due to inclement weather, the 15 th will be a regular school day: 8:15 am - 3:00 pm and we would re-schedule Sports Day for a later date.

3 Reading Week / Fairy Tale Winners This year ABIS had our first our first annual writing competition during our reading week! The challenge was to Islamify a fairytale. All of the entries were well written and it was a tough competition. Winners received monetary prizes; $20 for the primary students, and $25 for the elementary students. 4 Thank you for supporting our annual Jump Rope For Heart event. The students raised around $2,083 for the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
