2 Educational Activities Saturday Turkish School: 70 students are enrolled into our Saturday Turkish school. 5 teachers and 1 secretary are employed to assist in the operation of the school. Academy of Young Muslims Australia: Classes are conducted once a week on Saturdays between 11am-8pm depending on the age of the students. 1. Qur'an 2. Seerah (Life of Prophet Muhammad) 3. Aqeedah (The Islamic Creed) 4. Ibadah/Fiqh (Worship and Islamic Jurisprudence) 5. Akhlaq (Manners, etiquette, morals, ethics and behaviour) 6. Dua (Invocations and Supplications) 7. Arabic (Language) Quarterly Conferences: ICMG SYDNEY organises quarterly conferences given by well-known lecturers on various topics. These conferences are held every three months throughout the year. Qur an Classes: We organise weekly Qur an classes to cater for those who want to learn how to read the Arabic transcript of the Holy Qur an. These classes are open to all ages. Separate classes are being held for men and women. 1

3 Religious Activities 5 Times daily and Friday Prayers: 5 times daily and Friday prayers are held at Guildford Mosque. Religious Marriage Services: The ICMG SYDNEY provides the services to perform a Marriage Ceremony for Muslims according to both Islamic practices of marriage principles. Hajj and Umrah Pilgrimage: Hajj is an obligation on every able Muslim to perform at least once in their lifetime. The ICMG SYDNEY offers Hajj and Umrah packages throughout the year to help facilitate this important aspect of the religion. Qur an Recitation Contest: A Qur an Recitation Program was held at Auburn Town Hall with the attendance of over 200 people where 10 students contested to recite the quran. Ramadan Iftars (Dinners): 30 nights throughout the holy month of Ramadan there was dinners given free of charge to about 120 people every night for them to break their fast. Religious Lectures: Every Friday night a 1 hour lecture was given to the general public by qualified Imams. 2

4 Social Activities Hospital Visits: ICMG SYDNEY organises periodical visits to hospitals around Sydney to support those Muslims who have no relatives or friends to care for and also help provide for their needs. Family Outings: ICMG Sydney organises frequent family outings such as picnics, sports competitions and many other activities for the entire family. Counselling Services: We offer counselling services to our community free of charge in order to solve family disputes, youth problems or different issues regarding religious wellbeing. Refugee Aid: The organization frequently visits the detention centre located in Villawood to provide various basic necessities to newly arrived refugees. 3

5 Youth Activities Annual Youth Camp: ICMG SYDNEY organises an annual youth camp at the beginning of each year. This camp helps create lasting bonds between the youth and also the grounds for building a better community. Weekly Youth Talks: ICMG Sydney Youth Branch organises weekly youth talks which are given by influential lecturers in the community. These talks are held every Saturday at Guildford Mosque Monthly Youth Outings: Youth Branch organises monthly social outings for the youth which aim to bring together youth from different backgrounds whilst also enjoying themselves. Outings Include: Paint Ball Laser Skirmish Bowling BBQ at the Beach Bush Walking Wollongong Trip Horse Riding Jamberoo Trip Quad Biking Go Karting 4

6 Women Branch Activities Weekly Lectures: Lectures were given to younger women on Tuesday evenings every week. Qur an Classes: Qur an classes for women were organized every week on Wednesday and Thursday. Islamic Course 5
