All our committees are gearing up to make this occasion a grand success! Almost 100+ members are working relentlessly since last few months to make sure all aspects of this grand celebration isplanned, executedand deliveredto the last detail. 8 Meet our Esteemed Purohits Please note that the priests associated with the Tri-State Durga Puja offer their worship to Durga the Universal Mother entirely pro bono, and they do not have any professional affiliations. Monish R. Chatterjee Monish R. Chatterjee has served jointly with Sabyasachi (Rajan) Ganguli as one half of a tandem of priests conducting the Tri-State Durga Puja (TSDP). He has served in this capacity continuously since about Prior to this, he was initiated in the demanding task of conducting the offering of puja to the Universal Mother via the personal guidance of Dr. Jnanendra Bhattacharjee who with great kindness and possible foresight helped reduce the complexity of the task by means of integrated and condensed steps while maintaining the spirit and essence of the worship. Professionally, Dr. Chatterjee has been a professor of Electrical & Computer Engineering at the University of Dayton in Dayton, Ohio since Sabyasachi (Rajan) Ganguli Sabyasachi (Rajan) Ganguli (who serves as the other priest in the tandem) gladly accepted this solemn task the very first time it was suggested to him. Rajan is a most dedicated pujari in his own right, and offers devotions to traditional deities at home regularly. At the TSDP, Rajan assumes the role of the lead purohit in terms of the ritualistic and more strenuous aspects of the puja, while Dr. Chatterjee serves as a narrator and interpreter. Professionally, Dr. Ganguli is currently a senior research scientist at the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) and the University of Dayton Research Institute (UDRI) in Dayton, Ohio, where he has served as a research scientist since 2006.
