Dutta TOTAL PAGES 36 SATYAMEV JAYTE My dear Brothers & Sisters, The truth always prevails. As you are already aware that two members of our Community Shri Sanjeev Rai Vaid of Ludhiana and Shri Rakesh Vaid of Ghaziabad have filed a suit against GMS and its 40 elected members of the Managing Committee with prayers to the Hon ble Court to annul the recent elections and appoint a Commissioner to supervise the affairs of GMS till next elections. Ironically both these members did not stand for elections and are obviously a proxy for the defeated candidates. It is a matter of satisfaction that during the hearing on 29 March 2016, the Hon ble Court declined their petition and passed the interim order concluding as under:- Main allegation of the plaintiffs are that in the election process secrecy of voting was not maintained, so election of the GMS is bad. On the other hand, contention of the defendants are that as per consitution of GMS it was not necessary that election should be by way of secret voting and it could have been by show of hands and the election was conducted as per the constitution of GMS. As I have already observed, the proceedings pertaining to grant of temporary injunction are supplementary proceedings and at that stage the Court should refrain from giving a finding on the merits of the case. Unless the election is set aside, the elected representative of GMS cannot be restrained from taking action and decision. In the constitution of GMS, it is provided that the aims and objects of the GMS shall be to promote welfare, progress and prosperity of the general public and to provide aid, relief to needy and deserving persons, to establish, maintain and run educational and other institutes and other social causes of Mohyal community etc. It is well settled law that the Court would not pass injunction restraining the elected members from taking any action and decision in pursuance to their appointment as the members of the management committee of GMS, in the interest of the majority of the members of GMS, when those members are not before the court. The next date for hearing is fixed for 20 May 2016 and though we feel unhappy and sad on the development, we are very confident and fully geared up to meet any eventuality. Despite these speed breakers, we wish to assure you that we are conserving all our resources and energies for development and welfare of the Community towards which we know, we always had your fullest support & co-operation. We have called for a meeting of Presidents & Secretaries of all affiliated sabhas on 14 & 15 May 2016 to discuss the various plans & programmes for the welfare of our fraternity and involve them in all ground level activities and feel sure of very positive & productive results. With kind regards. Jai Mohyal Yours affectionately, Rzd B D Bali 3

HOW GITA WORKS AT WORKPLACE All that Krishna says to Arjuna is Be efficient at work. How to be efficient at work is what the Gita is all about, for it is the science of action. So the workplace is where it is most relevant. You have many roles in life, and one of them is as worker. Do not go at two or more roles at a time. That way you give maximum justice to the role you act at the time. That is vyavasaya buddhi, which is Gita s term for dedication. When you act one role, whatever role, bring your vyavasaya buddhi to Samadhi, concentration, and that is efficiency. The role of Arjuna in the war field is just to fight. When he acts the role of the fighter he should not share the concerns of his other roles father, brother, son, son-in-law, nephew or any other. If he does, it is like splitting himself into many roles at a time and thus diluting his vyavsaya buddhi. Diluted dedication is inefficiency. Unconcern for the fruits of action is not an unearthly ideal; it is just part of efficiency at work. When the fruits of action weigh heavy upon you, you are distracted and your dedication is unsteady. You do not do justice to your role. A mother who doubts that her children, when grown up, might not reciprocate her love and care cannot love and care them with motherly vyavasaya buddhi. A farmer who doubts that he might not reap profit from his crops cannot farm with complete dedication and do justice to role. An employee who bellyaches over his pay cannot give his full to his work and do justice to his role. Only those who work unconcerned with fruits can work with complete dedication and do justice to their roles. So cultivate this attitude. Do not look at the returns.just love your work and do it lovingly. Think plenty before plunging. Once plunged, swim and come out what may. Let not the thought of gain or loss or success or failure distract you. Give no care to win or defeat. Keep your spirits high. Krishna says, act always with me in mind. And when you act with Him in mind, He will take care of the fruits- Yogakshemam Vahamyaham. Prateek Dutta, (Mob.) They came back to us with so much respect, joy and admiration for what our community has set up and special regards for the knowledge sanctum in his name. So many times we take for granted what it means to be a Mohyal it is moments like this that make you realize the value of what our community elders and stalwarts have put in place. While he was alive, Bk. Rajinder Kumar Dutta, or Gullu as he was fondly known, was a devoted Mohyal. At a very young age, he had witnessed turmoil in the form of partition and like many Mohyals, he became a refugee in his own country. But, he always stressed on the role of community and how sticking together as a community was a pillar of strength. When he moved to the UK, where he stayed for 22 years, again he found solace in his community and was one of the founding members of the Mohyal Sabha there. In fact, the first Mohyal meeting in the UK was held at his house. A Mohyal surname was always a trigger for his love and attention. He would open his heart and home for a Mohyal in need. Likewise, when he moved back home to India, post-retirement, he found joy in community service whether it be in the local Gurgaon Mohyal Sabha, the Mohyal Education Society and the General Mohyal Sabha. The Mohyal Ashram in Haridwar was one of the last projects he participated in and was so excited about it before his passing away. It is in his memory, and as per what we are one hundred per cent certain we know would be his wishes, that our mother Smt Surinder Dutta, 843 Sector 14, Gurgaon, ,is donating Rs 51,000/- on his 80 th birth anniversary for upkeep and maintenance of the Bk. Rajinder Kumar Dutta library at the Haridwar Ashram. May our Community thrive forever. Monika Mehta and Seema Shukla Addition to Trust Wg Cdr Kailash Narain Datt and Smt. Yuba City man writes of his East to West Journey Born in what is now Pakistan, Paul Mehta wanted to be a doctor, then a teacher. He hadn t expected to work as a laborer or bus conductor in London or do hard labor in fields in Yuba-Sutter in the 1960s, moves he made despite his parents wishes.in his recently published autobiography, High & Low Tides: An East to West Journey, the Yuba City resident shares thoughts and memories of his life from his childhood in India when the country was divided into two to his arranged marriage, family and the celebration of his 50 th wedding anniversary. I wanted to write 100 (pages), Mehta, 80, said with a chuckle about the 70-page book. My wife kept putting a lid on it. In the book s acknowledgment, Mehta said, he hopes to inspire young people to be faithful, religious and respect their elders with his writings. He s already planning the second book in his autobiography. Mehta began writing the work after encouragement from his daughter-in-law, Dolly, and his wife, Tripta. With his sharp memory, Once I was writing, I did not want to stop, he said.the book also has Mehta s thoughts about healthy living, his faith in God, random thoughts and an agricultural timeline. The longtime Yuba City resident retired in 1997 after a 23-year career with the California Employment Development Department as an agricultural business representative. The state job came about after he became a U.S. citizen in Later, Mehta earned a license as a Realtor, a broker and mobile notary as well as starting 4D Realty and being active in the Shri Narayan Hindu Temple in Yuba City. He and Tripta, who is 73, will be celebrating their 51 st wedding anniversary on Feb. 2. They have three children and four grandchildren. Mehta thought about moving to Canada or back to London during the first few years in Yuba City, but his wife put a stop to that. She did not want to move again after relocating from India to England and then to California. They and their first child joined Mehta s older brother in Yuba City in He had arrived in Mehta has already sold 100 copies of his book, with more available, and has plans to donate all proceeds to local charities. The United States has given me everything food, shelter, opportunities, Mehta said. I want to give something back to this country.
