1 Char Dham Yatra - Helicopter CHAR DHAM YATRA ( HELICOPTER ) 2018 Day 1 Itinerary Dehradoon (Helicopter Depart am) Kharsali (Arrival at am - Palki) Yamunotri (Palki) Kharsali Early morning at a.m. Passengers are requested to reach state government helipad on Sahastradhara Road, Dehradun which is the starting and ending point of this yatra. Vehicles are arranged for pick up. Our pilots and ground staff will brief the guest about the entire trip and do s and don ts. Breakfast will be arranged at Kharsali and passengers are supposed to leave their hotel early at Dehradun/Haridwar. Fly by Helicopter from Dehradoon (Sahastradhara Helipad) to Kharsali arrival 7.45am & Yamunotri by Palki. We will organize palki for the guests. You will then be carried by palkis to Yamunotri temple. This trek from helipad to temple is app. 6 kms and return trip by palki takes 5.5 hours. Have darshan and come back to Kharsali. Generally passengers will return to hotel by lunch time. After rest, We do visit to Shani Temple which is near to your Hotel. Night halt at Shivshakti resort at Kharsali. Shivshakti resort is at 10 min. walk from the Helipad. Today's Sight - Yamunotri, First of The Chardham: Yamunotri temple is dedicated to Goddess Yamuna. Yamunotri is the source of revered river Yamuna which originates from the Champasar Glacier lying 1 Km. Ahead of the shrine situated at an elevation of 3235 mts above sea level. The approach is extremely difficult and pilgrims therefore offer Pooja at the temple itself. Yamunotri was the home of an ancient sage Asit Muni. Yamuna is the daughter of the Sun just like Yama who is considered his son. It is believed that Yama would not torment any person at the time of death who bathes in Yamuna, his sister. Surya Kund: There are a Number of thermal springs in the vicinity of the temple, which flows into numerous pools. The most important of these is Surya Kund. You can cook rice by packing it in a clot h and dipping it in the hot water of the hot kund. Take this cooked rice home as "Prasad". Divya Shila: A rock pillar, worshipped before entering the Yamunotri Temple. A visit to nearby ancient Shani temple in the evening is highly recommended. Day 2 Kharsali ( Helicopter ) Harsil ( Car ) Gangotri ( Car ) Harsil Dep Kharsali AM Arrival at Harsil helipad at 08.30am. From Harsil we will proceed to Gangotri by car which will be arranged by us. Approximately time taken to travel by road about 30 km from Harsil to Gangotri is 1 hr. Then visit the holy river Ganga and perform Ganga pooja, abhishek, pooja, aarti. Then come back to Harsil by car. Overnight halt at Himalyan Nature Resort / similar which is 2 KM from the helipad at Harsil. Harsil is the most beautiful & picturesque site in Uttarakhand and is also known as mini Switzerland. Uttarkashi - Uttarkashi is a small and beautiful town, situated between two rivers: Varuna and Ashi, whose water flow into the Bhagirathi from either side of the town. Elevated, at a height of 1588 metres, this little town is very similar to Kashi and Varanasi, in that it has the same kind of temples and ghats and likewise, a north or 'uttar' facing river. The

2 major temple is the Vishwanath Temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva. Two other very important temples are located in the Chowk area. These are the Annapurna Temple and the Bhairav Temple. Once, it is said, there were 365 temples here. Hiuen Tsang referred to this place as Brahma Pura, while the Skanda Puran has recorded it as Varunavata. It is believed that in the second millennium of Kaliyug, Kashi will be submerged, and Uttarkashi will replace it as an important religious centre. Today's Sight - Gangotri, IInd of Chardham: Gangotri temple is 18th Century temple dedicated to Goddess Ganga. It is located near a sacred stone where king Bhagirath worshipped Lord Shiva Ganga is believed to have touched earth at this spot. Accordingly to another legend, Pandavas performed the great "Deva Yagna" here to a tone the death of their kinsmen in the epic battle of Mahabharata. The temple is an exquisite 20 ft. high structure made of white granite. Gangnani: Further up on way to Gangotri, is the hot water spring at Gangnani, where one can have refreshing bath in the kund called Rishikund. There is a temple near the kund dedicated to the Sage Parashar, believed to be the father of Ved Vyas. Day 3 Harsil ( Helicopter ) Guptakashi ( Helicopter ) - Kedarnathji ( Helicopter ) Guptakashi In the the morning at a.m. our Helicopter will be waiting to proceed for the holy darshan of Kedarnathji. Due to Government regulation, you will have to change helicopter at Phata / Guptkashi and take another helicopter from the same helipad for Kedarnathji. Reach Guptakashi at am and board another chopper at am for Kedarnathji. Arrival at Kedarnathji by am. Night halt facility will not be provided in Kedarnath, instead we will offer night halt facilities in Guptkashi/Sitapur/Rampur area. Have pooja, abhishek and darshan of Lord Kedareshwar. The temple is at a walking distance from the helipad. We shall provide VIP darshan slips to the passengers. These slips are provided by the temple committee and the cost of each slip is Rs Once Darshan is completed, we will return to Guptakashi. Overnight stay at hotel in Guptkashi/Sitapur/Rampur. Passengers can visit the ancient Triyuginarayan temple in the evening. Today's Sight Kedarnathji Temple, IIIrd of Chardham: The present temple built in 8th Century A.D. by Adi Guru Shankaracharya lies adjacent to the site of an ancient temple built by Pandavas. The temple has a conical lingam - the main idol, a statue of Nandi - the celestial bull, a 'Garba Grah' for worship and a man dap for assemblies of pilgrims and visitors. The temple is more than 1000 years old. Other Important Sights Shankaracharya Samadhi: The Samadhi of Adi Guru Shankaracharya is located just behind the Kedarnathji temple. It is said that after establishing four sacred Dhams in India, he went into his Samadhi at an early age of 32 years. The lake fascinates the visitors. Bhaironath temple: About half a kilometer away from Kedarnathji, a small temple is dedicated to Bhaironath. It is worshipped on the opening and closing day of Sri Kedarnathji Shrine. Ii is believed that when Kedarnathji temple is closed. Bhaironathji protects this land from evil. Day 4 Guptakashi ( Helicopter ) - Badrinathji Departure for Badrinathji at am by Helicopter from SERSI Helipad in Guptakashi and arrive at Badrinathji at a.m., then proceed to Hotel Sarovar (the best property of Badrinathji). Check in & befresh & proceed to Badrinathji temple for holy darshan of Lord Badrinathji & come back to your Hotel. We shall provide transport for temple visit and local sight scenes up to Mana Village. Have your Lunch & take a rest or go for sight scenes. The special Maha Abhishek Pooja is the highlight of this entire yatra. It starts at 04.00AM sharp in the morning and last for 2 hours. We have arranged an opportunity for all our guest to sit inside the temple and cherishes the darshan of the Shringar of the deity from close quarters. 3 Today's Sight - Badrinathjiji, 4th Dham of Uttarakhand's Chardham & only original Chardham as proposed by Adi Guru Shankaracharya: Aarti at Badrinathjiji. Cradled in the twin Mountain ranges of Nar and Narayan is the holiest of the four main shrines - Badrinathjiji along the left bank of river Alaknanda with the towering Neelkantha Peaks as the splendid backdrop. Once the spot was carpeted with 'badris' or wild berries and hence was famous as Badri van. Legend has it, when the Ganga was requested to descend to earth to help suffering humanity; the earth was enable to withstand the force of its decent. Therefore the mighty Ganga was split into 12 holy channels. Alaknanda was one of them that later became the abode of Lord Vishnu or Badrinathjiji. Badrinathjiji ji sightseeing; Narad Kund: A recess in the river, near Tapt Kund, forming a pool from where the Badrinathjiji idol was recovered. Brahama Kapal: It is a flat platform a few yards north of the temple and on the bank of river Alaknanda. It is an important place for shhradh ceremony or offering of pinds to ensure a heavenly place for dead ancestors or manes. It is said that offering pind here, the manes are permanently enshrined in heaven and no more pinds are to be done elsewhere ever afterwards. Legends have it that when Shiva chopped of the fifth head of Brahma, it got stuck to his trident. Lastly with the blessing of Lord Vishnu at Badrivan, the head of Brahma fell down from the trident at this place & hence the name Brahma- Kapal (head). Sheshnetra : It is a large block of stone between tow small seasonal lakes carrying an eye of "Sheshnag" The eye formation is quite natural, 1.5kms. away is a boulder having an impression of the legendary serpent, better known as the Sheshnag's eye, it is believed that the seshnag waits at this place patiently to accompany the lord on his reincarnation. Mana Village: Inhabited by an Indo-Mongolian tribe, it is the last Indian village before Tibet. The women of the village offer Choli to the deity on closing day of the temple each year. Bhim Pul: On the other side of Mana village, a massive rock forming a natural bridge, lies over the roaring Saraswati river. It presents a spectacular view of water thundering down through the narrow passage under the rock and is believed to have been placed there by Bhim, the second eldest among the five Pandava brothers. Vyas Gufa (cave): Near Mana Village, this is a rock-cave where Ved Vyas is believed to have composed the Mahabharata and the pauranic commentaries. Day 5 Badrinathji ( Helicopter ) Dehradoon We will have early morning darshan of Lord Badrinathjiji, perform pooja at 4.00 a.m., here people get the opportunity to remain inside the grabh grah or sanctum sanctorum for almost 2 hours and see the entire Shringar process of the deity. This puja is the highlight of our CHAR DHAM TRIP. And come back to Hotel Sarovar, have a breakfast and then proceed towards Dehradoon. Departure at a.m. arrival at Dehradoon by pm. Personal expenses, tips and donations, insurance against loss of baggage, damage, theft of personal items/ belongings, medical expenses if any and emergency evacuation if any. TERMS AND CONDITIONS 1. The quality of accommodation available at Yamunotri and Guptakashi is average and so passengers should not have very high expectations. However at Harsil and Badrinathji the accommodation standard is 3 star. 2. The helicopter will carry 4 passengers at a time. Average weight of each passenger is 75 Kg. If the Yatri's weight is more than 75Kg charges will be extra. 3. Only 5 Kg baggage per passenger will be permitted.passengers are advised not to carry big suitcases as there is very small baggage space inside helicopter. 4. Children above the age of 2 years will be considered as full ticket 5. There is no provision of concession to children or senior citizens 6. The booking has to be done in advance with a deposit of 50% of the charter amount & balance amount has to be paid immediate on confirmation of services. 7. In case the journey is not finished within the stipulated time and passengers are not able to visit one or more dhams due to bad weather conditions/technical reasons then the company will try to visit all places within the stipulated time of overall duration of the itinerary i.e. 4 nights / 5 days,.although if this is not possible then the liability of the company will not be there to refund of unutilised sector/s. 8. Rescheduling of booking to a next date will be done subject to availability and on payment of 20% of the cost. This will be permitted only if applied 10 days before journey date. In case the rescheduling is requested with less than 10 days to the journey then booking will be treated as cancelled and a fresh booking will be given subject to availability. 9. If passengers wish to cancel their booking then they will have to pay following cancellation charges : Upto 10 days before journey % of charter amount Upto 48 hours before journey % of charter amount Less than 48 hours before journey % of charter amount Less than 24 hours before journey --- NO REFUND 10. Yatris are joining the tour at their own risk. Management is not responsible for any loss or damage of life and property due to accident, natural calamity or local political disturbance during the tour. 11. Management reserves the right to change the program schedule subject to weather conditions. 12. Yatris should keep peace and give full co-operation to Management on tour and for any delay to reach any place in unavoidable circumstances. 13. If the Yatri's weight is more than 75Kg charges will be extra. 14. Extra costs that may arise due to prolonged delays or postonement of flights due to technical reasons / acts of nature / riots / curfew / government regulations or any other conditions whatsoever, which are beyond the control of Sun Holidays and its associated agents/partners, that costs has to be borne by the guests. 15. Sun Holidays act only in the capacity of agent for the hotels, airlines, transporters, railways & contractors providing other services & all exchange orders, receipts, contracts & tickets issued by us are issued subject to terms & conditions under which these services are provided by them.

5 16. All itineraries are sample itineraries, intended to give you a general idea of the likely trip schedule. Numerous factors such as weather, road conditions, the physical ability of the participants etc. may dictate itinerary changes either before the tour or while on the trail. We reserve the right to change any schedule in the interest of the trip participants' safety, comfort & general well being. 17. We shall not be responsible for any delays & alterations in the programme or expenses incurred - directly or indirectly - due to natural hazards, flight cancellations, accident, breakdown of machinery or equipments, breakdown of transport, weather, sickness, landslides, political closures or any untoward incidents. 18. We shall not be responsible for any loss, injury or damage to person, property, or otherwise in connection with any accommodation, transportation or other services, resulting - directly or indirectly - from any act of GOD, dangers, fire, accident, breakdown in machinery or equipment, breakdown of transport, wars, civil disturbances, strikes, riots, thefts, pilferages, epidemics, medical or custom department regulations, defaults, or any other causes beyond our control. 19. We do not have any insurance policy covering the expenses for accident, sickness, loss due to theft, or any other reasons. Visitors are advised to seek such insurance arrangements in their home country. All baggage s & personal property/s at all times are at the client's risk. 20. Joining the tour automatically means that yatri agrees to abide and accept all terms and conditions of the tour. 21. This service is available on group basis of 4 passengers 22. The helicopter can carry a maximum of 4 passengers with total weight of 300 to 350kgs including baggage 23. Passengers would be allocated helicopter on the following criteria s: On the first come first serve basis or On the basis of booking if arrival time for more than one group is same. 24. Passengers are advised not to carry heavy luggage as luggage cabin in helicopter is very small 25. The above package includes all transfers at all dhams (including palki at yamunotri ) 26. The above package includes darshan assistance at all dhams although expenses for any special puja will have to be borne by the passengers. 27. Any additional night stay will attract extra charge. 28. Full amount has to be deposited before 25 days start of journey or on confirmation of services as the case may be. Important Notes : All extras (F&B and any other services) availed by the customer will be on direct payment basis In case of odd number groups, the extra person shall be accommodated in the same room with an extra bed / mattress. The above rates are applicable to the Indian Nationals only. Any Meals, services not utilized, partly utilized are non refundable. THE CUSTOMER HAS TO BEAR THE PROPORTIONATE TOUR COST IN CASE OF EXTENDED STAY OR TRAVELLING DUE TO ANY REASON. WE SHALL NOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY CHANGE IN THE ITINERARY DUE TO LANDSLIDES, FLIGHT CANCELLATIONS, WEATHER CONDITIONS OR ANY UNFORESEEN CIRCUMSTANCES. The group will be required to follow the itinerary strictly. The entire Group will enter & exit together as per schedule. In case of adverse weather conditions or technical snags with the helicopter, there could be a possibility of helicopter being un-operation for a couple of days, under such circumstances, every effort shall be made to provide them lodging / boarding etc. and the best available efforts shall be made to make alternate arrangements if possible however under such circumstances, all additional charges (if any) shall be borne by the guests. Travel Tips:- Photography:- Still cameras, home video cameras are allowed in Himalayas but only inside the temple not allowed.

Fitness:- Please start to get in shape NOW!!! A good 15 minutes walk, jogging daily, stretching and regular exercise should put you in the right shape (Concentrate on your heart & legs - Aerobics). Porters will be carrying the bulk of your equipment, but it is recommended that you bring a good day pack and are fit enough to carry snacks, filled water bottle/small scissors and knife, waterproof matches, safety pins, Thermometer, Lighter, Dehydration salt (electoral) packets, Neoprene Powder and cream. Heat balm for muscles/joints, Vicksinhaler/vapourub, Chopsticks. Dry Fruits/snacks, camera, Film, Map, Jumper, Sun Hat, First Aid Kit, Light weight Rain Gear, Extra Cloth etc. Altitude Sickness:- This is an environment related condition that can affect anyone who ascends too rapidly to high elevations without acclimatizing properly. Suggested to read any book on trekking, which has a chapter on this, and also consult your doctor Health Consideration:- All Tourist We do ask you to bring along your own small first aid kit (available at Pharmacies). Some of the items we ask you to bring in the kit are: Antiseptic cream or Wound disinfectant: Iodine and tube-squeeze cream. Foot care and Blister Treatment, band-aids, adhesive roll & strips, gauze pads, moleskin. (please bring ankle high boots to avoid muscle sprain.) Antibiotics: (Triethoprim/sulfamethoxazole - Bacterium DS or Septran DS Anti - Inflammatory: Avil, Brufen or Mortin. Aspirin / Tylenol or general painkillers. Strong sunscreen oil, skin antibiotic cream. Insurance:- We recommend that you insure yourself against sickness, EMERGENCY RESCUE, accident hospitalization, etc.. We are not liable and responsible for any damages or extra expenses that may arise from mishaps and the loss of their belongings during the pilgrimage. On request we may liason for such services between you and the insurance company. Clothing s: Clothing s for both extremes of climate and temperature. While driving to Chardham Yatra, it will be warm inside the vehicle and light clothing will be required, but as soon as you step out of the vehicle, warm clothing will be required to keep off the cold winds of the Himalayas.
