2 June 3rd We depart for Mexico via a connecting flight that brings us to Mexico City in the afternoon. We clear Customs and are met by our guide Santiago, who will take us directly to the Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe where we celebrate Holy Mass in the Chapel of the Indians. Then we check in at our hotel, just one block from Reforma Street, a main avenue of Mexico City. We are served dinner in our hotel. D (dinner) Mexico City June 4th Breakfast is served at the hotel. This morning we will have a full program at the Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe. In 1531 Our Lady appeared to Juan Diego and left an image of herself on his cloak called a Tilma. The apparition led to a great surge of conversions from pagan religions to Christianity. We can venerate the Tilma, visit Tepeyac Hill and have time for personal prayer. Late morning in the Guadalupe Basilica our group will attend the Concelebrated Holy Mass at which Monsignor Witt will be one of the Concelebrants. At noon time we will be served Full Lunch at the Monastery of the Sisters of Perpetual Adoration. Afternoon: Returning to Guadalupe Shrine, we will have ample opportunity for devotions and to receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation. There is a Chapel with Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament, providing time for us for Eucharistic Adoration. We also can see what is offered in the plentiful shops near the Shrine. Dinner is served at our hotel. B (breakfast) & L (lunch) & D Mexico City June 5th Breakfast is served at the hotel. We travel by motor coach to the beautiful Church of the 5th Apparition on the site where Juan Diego s uncle was healed by Our Lady. There at mid-morning we celebrate Holy Mass, praying for persons in need of healing. Later, we stop to see a demonstration of the many uses of the Maguey cactus, the material from which Juan Diego s Tilma was made. Then we are provided with a full Mexican Buffet Luncheon. Afternoon: Very nearby are the famous ruins of the Pyramids of Teotihuacan. On our visit to these extensive ruins, we recall the awesome fact that such a well-developed civilization of the Aztec people, given to the worship of their pagan gods, would convert to believe in Jesus Christ after the Apparitions of His Mother at Guadalupe. In just a few years it became the most massive conversion in the history of Christianity. This evening we are free for our own activities. B & L Mexico City

3 June 6th This morning we go to downtown Mexico City to see especially the great Cathedral located in an ornate central plaza of this capital city of Mexico. Nearby we will enter the very beautiful Church of St. Francis of Assisi and celebrate Holy Mass. A stop will be made at Holy Family Church where we see the tomb of that good and courageous priest, Blessed Father Miguel Pro. Afternoon: We can take time on our own for a delicious snack at a popular coffee shop called Casa de los Asulejos (House of Tiles). We travel south to Xochimilco. The name means garden of flowers, because it is a town full of canals and gardens. Here we will board some bright colored, squarish boats called trajineras through the canals. We return to Mexico City to have dinner together at our hotel. B & D Mexico City June 7th This morning we drive east of Mexico City to Tlaxcala and to the Basilica of Our Lady in the center of that city. Here ten years after the apparitions in Guadalupe another Juan Diego, Juan Diego Bernadino, received an apparition from the Blessed Mother. She directed Juan Diego to a spring of healing waters, and she left a wooden carved image of herself. This statue is enshrined in the Basilica of Our Lady which stands in the middle of Tlaxcala. We will celebrate Holy Mass in this Basilica of Our Lady of Ocotlan. We have a lunch provided for us in this charming and historic town of Tlaxcala. Afternoon: On our visit to the 16th century Cathedral we see the historic pulpit and an interesting statue of St. Joseph holding the Child Jesus. This town was key in the work of Franciscan missionaries to begin the Evangelization of Mexico. Returning late afternoon to Mexico City, we go out this evening for a Farewell Dinner including wine and Folklore entertainment. B, L & D Mexico City Day 8th Our mid-afternoon departure gives more time for us to spend at Guadalupe Shrine. So, after breakfast we go to a very attractive church on the grounds of the Shrine -- the Chapel of the Well -- so that we can celebrate Holy Mass at the Chapel of the Well. It will be just past noon when we head to the airport, giving us ample time this morning for further exploration at the Shrine and even for shopping.

This deposit forms a part of your final payment, which must be received by us no later than 75 days prior to departure. Seats are limited on this Pilgrimage, so we suggest an early booking. CANCELLATIONS: Please make all cancellations in writing. The following cancellation charges apply: If cancelled 120 days or more prior to departure, a $75 administration fee is charged. If cancelled days prior, $300 penalty will be charged. If cancelled days prior, a $500 penalty will be charged. If cancelled 14 days or less, the total amount of the trip will be forfeited. In addition, once the airline tickets are issued, about 40 days prior to departure, the cost is non-refundable.
