1 Afar Partnership - Ethiopia Let there be light! A bright light shone that first Christmas Day. So will bright lights shine in the Afar desert this coming year. For sixteen years, Christians in the USA have partnered with the Mekane Yesus Church in Ethiopia to extend a hand of friendship to the forgotten Afar people in the remote and hot desert of eastern Ethiopia. Once the poorest people group in the country, the Afar people (Muslims since the 7th century) are seeing a bright future. They realize that education is essential. An Afar father told us, A village without a school is like a house with a window. With our help, they ve built seven school that are now educating over 2000 boys and girls Alternative Gift Fair Sunday, December 6, am - 1pm This coming year, they plan to build libraries in several schools and they plan to start an adult education program in the evenings. Most Afar adults can t read, but they want to learn. You can help by purchasing a solar light that will make it possible for students to learn and study at night. On one side is solar panel that will fully charge the light in 5 hours in the sun (and the Afar desert has lots of sunshine). $10 buys 1 book for a new school library. Only one Afar school has a library, and it consists of two book shelves. All Proceeds Go to Missions Lessons from Luke is an amazing new children s curriculum that helps teachers prepare 52 lessons in the mother-tongue, using the Gospel of Luke translated into the local language. This is a break-through in desperately needed children s materials for mother-tongue speakers, developed in the North West Region of Cameroon. Consider the impact of children hearing the Gospel in the language that speaks to their heart, complete with color graphics.. $40 will provide 1 set of the curriculum (8 books total: 4 teacher guides and 4 Flip Books) for 1 year of lessons for 1 church or Bible Club.

3 The RCA Trauma Healing Fund Harry & Pat Miersma - Texas The Global Trauma Healing Project is a joint effort of Wycliffe Bible Translators, the RCA and the American Bible Society. Refugees, human trafficking victims, war survivors, torture victims, child soldiers and others have been helped through this innovative and unique Scripture engagement approach first developed by Pat Miersma and her mission colleagues in Africa in specific projects to give to through the RCA Trauma Healing Fund: 1. Trauma Healing training in an unspecified Middle East city, for over 30 Arabic speaking Christians from 4 language groups who are caring for thousands of Syrian and Iraqi Christians and others who have fled the terrorist group now occupying significant areas of the cradle of Christianity including the Nineveh Plain. 2. Advanced Trauma Healing training to meet the growing demands for more language groups wanting to use Scripture with the trauma healing book in a sensitive region of Southeast Asia where minority Christians have been persecuted majority governments and others. Please partner with us through a special gift of $25 or $50 New Life Food Distribution New Life Community Church New Life s Saturday food distribution serves families each week. A ministry near and dear to the hearts of this congregation, with hundreds serving in various capacities each month. The food distribution is all about neighbors helping neighbors in their time of need, loving our community in the name of Jesus. We are always in need of protein to supplement the food that we receive from other venues. 4 Dress A Girl Around The World Africa and El Salvador Because every girl deserves a least ONE dress, several women from New Life have been sewing dresses for Dress A Girl Around the World. This organization is under the umbrella of Hope 4 Women International, based in Tempe, AZ. To date we have provided over 600 dresses for girls from ages 1-16 years, in Africa and El Salvador, with Haiti next on the list. Not only will your gift provide a girl with possibly her first new dress, you are telling her that she is loved. The Happy Day Project Gary and Anita Hartog You can support the happiness of a child with the introduction to Christ, through music, reformed teaching, events, interactive games, food, a new toy, a personal Bible for each family and ministry. This grass roots ministry reaches children in their neighborhoods and communities often in rural jungles and territories of the Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Mexico and other Latin American countries. In locations where children and their parents have not had the opportunity to hear about the love and grace of our Lord Jesus Christ. Through this ministry, children and there families are being saved. Lives are being transformed, and the Reform Theology of our Lord is being rooted for generations to come. $20 provides material for 4-8 dresses, depending on sizes $1-5 provides school supplies, toys, a Bible and more

5 Save Papua - Indonesia Child of Peace Foundation, or YAKAP, began with the idea of becoming a home for Papuan children, mostly around age 11, who do not attend school despite their age. These children need to learn and the actual number of children increases every day. Imago Dei Church Daniel (DJ) & Crista Jansson Imago Dei Church is a new church plant for the city of Downey Imago Dei means Image of God which is the first description of humanity in the scriptures. We believe that every person in every place was made to know God and display what he is like. Our mission is to behold Jesus, to become like Jesus, and to put Jesus on display in such a way that this image of God is awakened in those who are far from Him. Together with help from NLIF & NLCC, our dream has finally come to fruition. The building was started with an intended area of 10 meters x 24 meters. The first phase will initially accommodate 11 children. When the final phase is finished, it will accommodate 40 children. All the children are native Papuan children who cannot attend school due to extreme poverty or the death or divorce of their parents. Every donation made to fund the orphanage will help save the pour children of Papua. Imago Dei Church officially launched on October 18, 2015 and partners with New Life in working to see God bring renewal to the cities of South East LA. At present we have to buy chairs to set up and pack up every week because we don t own a building. $20 buys a chair to set up in the hope of a new person coming to know the life and joy found in Jesus Christ. 6 Kingdom Causes Kingdom Causes Bellflower is a faith-based community development organization that seeks to see Bellflower transformed as God s people work together to love their neighbors. Areas of impact include housing homeless neighbors, providing employment for hard-to-hire individuals, and strengthening the local education system. Last year, KCB opened Margaret s House, a hospitality house for homeless families. Families stay in Margaret s House for a period of 3 months and receive weekly case management support and savings help toward the goal of moving into their own home! Margaret s House is the only housing program in Bellflower that provides stability for families in crisis. $30 provides a welcome basket of needed supplies for a homeless family moving into Margaret s House. $15 provides one uniform for an employee of Good Soil Industries, KCB s social enterprise gardening company that employs hared-to-hire individuals. The Navigators Leihlyn Tinio - Los Angeles Please contribute to a fund to support, Leihlyn as she continues the effort to deepen relationships with international student friends. Your donations will enable her to visit them in their home countries to meet them and their families on their turf. (Currently, priority relationships are in Brazil, India, Japan, Korea, East Asia, Mid-East, Africa, and others. Of course, this will be over a span of time and will remain in my Navigator account for that purpose.) The visits will be made where there are several people to visit in the particular place and with prayerful guidance and approval and support of Navigator supervisors. $50-$100 donates toward Leihlyn and other staff/students to be part of next summer s mission trip to the Middle East to serve at a facility which provides work and safe haven for underprivileged Muslims and gives opportunities to experience God s love. $50 contributes to a fund to help students attend spring break trips, conferences and summer training programs designed for their spiritual growth and development as well as to encourage interested nonbelieving students to be part of these activities $25 contributes toward Overseas Mission trips

7 Ambassadors Fellowship (AF) Linda Dyer - Colorado Ambassadors Fellowship is an international interdenominational mission agency that seeks to extend the kingdom of God throughout the world especially in the areas that are least reached or unreached with the Gospel. AF now ministers in Mexico, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, Spain Kenya, Nigeria, Benin, Liberia and various other nations. Support Linda Dyer, a New Life Member in Missions with AF as she participates in several short-term, crosscultural, evangelistic ministries. Your prayers and donations will help spread the Good News of Jesus Christ to our neighbors throughout the world, as Linda continues her full time work with Ambassadors Fellowship. Gifts of $25 or $50 will help with the costs of travel and housing for evangelistic mission trips. Solo Mission - Indonesia Education is the road that children follow to reach their full potential in life and is also an effective way to break the cycle of poverty. By supporting this project, you will help a child in need in Solo- Indonesia to get his/her education for five months, including books, backpack, stationary, etc. It has been four years, since New Life Indonesian Fellowship (NLIF) and new Life Community Church (NLCC) started to support YPK in Solo-Indonesia, an Orphanage and Shelter for homeless, elderly and disabled people. Last year, YPK started a pre-school for orphans. Based on our observation the residents need to be given better nutrition and better hygiene, especially the elderly and disabled. Pastor Dedy brought educators to that remote location and took the staff out to other shelters to compare and learn hygiene and special care for those who were in need. $20 Education for Children $50 Better Care for Elderly and Disabled People

8 Church World Services (CWS) CWS is a cooperative ministry of 35 denominations, including the Reformed Church in America, to which New Life Community Church belongs. It provides sustainable self-help and development, disaster relief. Help a Child: The call to help needy children is easy to hear and CWS makes it easy to heed. In an effort to protect children, CWS offers assistance in some of the most impoverished and violent communities in the Dominican Republic, Nicaragua and Uruguay. By funding teachers, creating safe spaces and teaching useful life skills, your gifts benefit the most vulnerable kids in a very targeted and direct way. $15 - provides to help a child Rabbits: Here's a case where one good gift creates another and another and more. One family in need gets a prolific source of income, plus the gratification of being able to give some of their rabbits' offspring to another family. $10 - provides a pair of Rabbits Chicks: An eggcellent choice. Who knew something so tiny could have such a huge impact on a family's health and food security? In about 22 weeks, baby chicks grow into egg-producing chickens - supplying a great source of protein and income. $25 - provides 50 Chicks Mission Aviation Fellowship (MAF) Ron & Nancy Hilbrands - Idaho Since 1945, MAF has used aviation and other technologies that God has given us to reach isolated people with the Gospel. MAF continues to share the love of Christ from dense jungles to rugged mountains to war torn countries. Medical Evacuations: So that medical care can reach even the most isolated people and places. Deliver Bibles: So the Word of God can be available to all people. MAF is often called upon to carry God s Word to eager villagers who have been waiting to read the Scriptures in their own languages. These deliveries build the foundations for local churches to grow and spread. For those living in the dense jungles of Kalimantan, Indonesia or the high mountain villages of Lesotho, Africa, access to healthcare can require several days of walking on rough terrain. MAF airplanes provide quick, safe access to medic help. $6 helps transport 3 Bibles $50 helps to share the cost

9 Every Nation Ministries Paul and Tina Dario - Long Beach Our mission is not only to reach young people with the Gospel, but to equip them to make disciples (Matthew 28:18-20) no matter what their future occupation will be. 10 East Africa Partnership - Kenya East Africa Partnership and its predecessor have been helping meet the needs of people in Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda for 20 years. This rapidly growing ministry is a true partnership where every project is partially funded and carried out by local volunteers. Projects are self-sustaining within 2 years and 100% of your donation goes to meet the needs in the community. The EAP partners with local and national governments, multiple churches and denominations, hospitals, universities and businesses in order to reach the people of East Africa and share the love of Jesus Christ. New Home for Christmas: Our current project is to refurbish a home for children owned by the African Inland Church to enable it to accept 65 new girls in December. We have raised $50,000 for the refurbishment. The children still need uniforms, and shoes, school books and fees to get them into their new environment. Please help a child have a home for the holidays. Long Beach Rescue Mission Since 1972, the Long Beach Rescue Mission has opened its doors to thousands of men, women and children. The mission provides food, clothing, shelter and spiritual guidance to the homeless and less fortunate people of the community. Every year, the Long Beach Rescue Mission has given out Christmas stockings to hundreds of children and adults in the community. The Stockings should be filled with items for children and adults. The Stockings will be handed out to homeless people in the community for Christmas. Pick up a stocking with a list for a boy, girl or teen or adult. Shop for the items on the list, fill the stocking and bring it back to the church lobby on Sunday, December 13. $50 moves a child into a new home for Christmas $25 supports a child for a month $25 a month Sponsors a child for a year (you can communicate your support directly with the child)
