4 FATHER AL LAUER, FOUNDER OF THE BIBLE INSTITUTE! FATHER AL LAUER, the founder and spiritual leader of Presentation Ministries was received into his heavenly home on October 13, 2002 after a lifetime of service and self-sacrifice for Jesus and His Church. Father Al was ordained a Catholic priest for the Archdiocese of Cincinnati, Ohio in During his second year of priesthood, Father Al experienced a renewal in the Holy Spirit that was the key to his highly effective ministry. As he began teaching the Bible, he experienced first-hand, the power of God s word as did all those who heard him. While praying at a retreat in 1983, the Lord called Father Al to begin reaching people through the radio. In addition to radio broadcasts, Father Al trained lay people to be Bible teachers, ministers of healing, intercessors, and leaders of small Christian communities. He was the originator and long-time author of ONE BREAD ONE BODY, a daily Scriptural meditation booklet. He wrote numerous other books and pamphlets. His teachings are available on audio and video cassettes.father also founded the Bible Institute to provide equipping seminars for the laity. His vision included raising up lay people as disciples of Jesus. Even as he lay dying, Father challenged us at Presentation Ministries to Put out into the deep (Lk 5:4). He urged us to not just maintain this ministry, but to move forward in growth and development. He charged us to accept Christ s calling to a radical lifestyle of preaching and living His gospel. In his zeal for souls, Father Al poured himself out to the end. As always, his focus was on bringing about the Kingdom. Even now, we believe that he is a great intercessor in heaven along with others in Presentation who have departed this life. We pray that we will receive all that the Holy Spirit wishes to give us in order to continue this great work of evangelization and discipleship. Since Father Al s death, Presentation Ministries is continuing to move forward. Existing ministries are flourishing and even new ministries have been added -- the Word s Gift Ministry and Discipleship Outreach Teams. PSALMS: A BOOK OF PRAYER, PRAISE AND POWER A psalm is the cry of real people in real-life situations. Look to this book to gain understanding of how to recognize the movement of the Spirit and to respond with heartfelt prayer. I will praise you, Lord, with all my heart (Ps 9:2). This seminar requires two days Wed, July 27 and Thurs, July TWO-DAY SEMINARS (THURS AND FRI) DISCOVERING YOUR SPIRITUAL GIFTS Are you looking for solutions to the problems and chaos that surround us? This course will open your eyes to the spiritual realities of God s Kingdom in today s world. Set your hearts on spiritual gifts (1 Cor 14:1). This seminar requires two days Thurs, Jul 28 and Fri, Jul 29. PROPHECY AND DISCERNMENT How do you hear the Lord in the midst of confusion and falsehood? God does speak to us very clearly if we have the spiritual ears to hear and the wise hearts to understand. The gifts of prophecy and discernment are much needed and are being poured out on men and women of faith. Set your hearts on spiritual gifts above all, the gift of prophecy (1 Cor 14:1). This seminar requires two day Thurs, July 28 and Fri, July ONE-DAY SEMINARS HOW TO BE A HOLY DEFENDER OF THE FAITH Come and learn how to defend some of the basic beliefs of our faith. Should anyone ask you the reason for this hope of yours, be ever ready to reply (1 Pt 3:15). This seminar requires one day Wed, July 27. AM I GOING TO HEAVEN? This is the most important question of your life! Jesus tells us in the Scriptures that we are not to be presumptuous in our beliefs. But, rather we are to be confident in Him -- in His redeeming love. Our trust must rely only in Jesus as our Savior, Lord, and God. He wants none to perish but all to come to repentance (2 Pt 3:9). This seminar requires one day Thurs, July 28. GETTING TO KNOW THE GUADALUPE BIBLE COLLEGE Live according to what you have learned and accepted... (Phil 4:9) This program is for those interested in learning more about being either a student or teacher (home study or classroom) for Guadalupe Bible College. This seminar requires one day Fri, July 29. THE GIFT OF HOSPITALITY By opening your heart, your home, and your life to others, you will serve Jesus Himself. The Lord uses us and our homes to touch and heal those who are hurting and need a place of refreshment and peace. Here I stand, knocking at the door. If anyone... opens the door, I will enter his house and have supper with him (Rev 3:20). This seminar requires one day Fri, Jul 29. THE GIFT OF INTERCESSION Pope John Paul II has said that prayer and fasting are the first and most effective weapons against the forces of evil (Gospel of Life, 100). Learn how to be a prayer warrior in the army of Christ through the power of the Holy Spirit. The fervent prayer of a holy person is powerful indeed (Jas 5:16). This seminar requires one day Fri, July 29. THE LAITY: THE REAL EVANGELIZERS The laity are on the front lines of our secularized society. Learn how to fulfill your calling from the Lord to bring light to the darkness by sharing the gospel of Christ. But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation... (1 Pt 2:9). This seminar requires one day Fri, Jul 29. USING THE CHARISMS FOR SERVICE Spiritual gifts that we hear little about are the gifts of mercy, service, hospitality, and helps. Yet, many ministries would flounder without them. Rich and Daneen Gosser will bring to this seminar their experience of the use of these gifts in practical ways. Put your gifts at the service of one another (1 Pt 4:10). This seminar requires one day Fri, July 29.
