2 God moved mightily among us this year! He grabbed hold of our people with His God sized goal and we followed. Lives are being changed! People are growing in their faith! Children have found a place to learn about Jesus! Your decision to follow Christ faithfully has led to a record year of generosity on so many levels! We present to our community a place to find light against the darkness. God is at work among us. There is much work left to be done and 2017 will be another year of God's leading. There will be challenges and we welcome them. There will be times of struggle and change and we will meet them. He is preparing a harvest for us every day. "The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest. Luke 10:2. May God find us laboring for His harvest! 3 As overseers of Northridge we are humbly called to oversee the spiritual direction of the church. Overseers are caretakers and held accountable to teach God s word, pray for His sheep, chase down the stray lamb and model maturity. During our planning retreat we spent extended time in prayer which let us to the Spirit s call for Northridge to become a church more intentional towards prayer. The sudden passing of our fellow overseer, Mark Reynen, reminds us all of the brevity of life and the urgency of Christ s great commission. Due to the enormity of this calling we have scheduled an additional meeting each month to discuss and pray for God s guidance. We have also scheduled a corporate time of prayer each Wednesday morning at 6:50-7:30am. We covet the prayers of Northridge regarding this responsibility. 4 At Northridge we firmly believe that interaction with scripture is where transformation takes place. The additional space allowed by the new building give us opportunities for growth physically and spiritually. Almost half our adults are engaging in Sunday school, Bible studies and Life Groups. Discipleship cohorts designed to help participants grow in spiritual maturity and pass it on to others started this year. Common Grounds opened up for fellowship on Sundays because of the additional classroom space. People responded to a place to get to know each other which spurred the launch of the First Impressions Teams led by Maria Payne and Sandy Marler. Through adult ministries and every other ministry at Northridge, God is making disciples that extend grace to more and more people, increasing thanksgiving to the glory of God! 5 Adult Ministries "Our Life Group continues to grow. I think our Life Group has provided a place where our members feel comfortable. And a place where we can be ourselves. Dan Piehl Bible Studies Our parenting and marriage class is giving us an opportunity to look at ways we can use to communicate with our kids, which are all ideas and thought which are still applicable to our marriages. Anytime we can go through and discuss topics that we all deal with no matter the stage of our life, we are all having the ability to grow couples, families and parents! Blake Waddell Sunday School The time we have spent together has, I believe, helped us all to grow in our faith and walk with the Lord. Prayer time is very valuable and important time at the beginning of class. It is a time for both praises and petitions. Jim Haskamp Our family has loved having the opportunity to study the word and do life together with the other families in our small group. Our kids love it and get just as much out of it as the adults. Our group has had a lot of life happen in the few years we have been together and hard to imagine going through it without each other. 6 Our new youth wing is a blessing. There was a disconnect being in the old youth space across the parking lot, but I didn t realize how much. The youth definitely appreciate just walking down the hall. They feel part of the church now. It has been great to see the new space immediately filling up. There is energy and the excitement every week. The students want to be here and they are excited about bringing friends. There is so much we can do with this new space so that the group continues to grow closer to each other and closer to God. It is our goal to develop students who are authentic and want to live out their faith a that faith is contagious. I pray that many in this community will seek Jesus as a result of our students and the youth ministry here at Northridge. 8 Our Children s Ministries continue to grow in all areas 20 new families have joined us at Orange 252 this year and we had record VBS attendance! Our kids are excited to come together, sing worship songs (at the top of their lungs), learn all about Jesus and complete their weekly devotions! Our kids are inviting kids and leaders are going to door-to-door to make sure no child is lost! Mandy DeBoer Children s Director Children s Ministries

It is also a huge blessing to have kids come to the middle school and already know me from Orange so they already understand my faith. 10 Corporate worship at Northridge has a purpose of preparing hearts to respond to whatever God is up to. This happens when we come together and are able to focus our energies on praising God for who He is, what He has done, and what He is doing. In light of this purpose, we strive to be an authentic worship team, conduits of Christ ; deeply dedicated to Jesus, and living lives of worship. We look to bring forward scripture embedded in song, spoken word, and the arts to help the congregation to engage with the presences of God, and to enter into deeper communion with Him. As we commit to presenting the gospel of Jesus in this way, we trust that God will use our team to encourage people to take steps to a meaningful relationship with Christ and to lead others to do the same.
