5 Church Groups and Gatherings W.O.W. (Women Offering Worship) WOW s purpose is to glorify God and to help us as women to grow closer to Him. As we learn what God has done and is doing in our world, it enables us to grow in faith and trust more and more. Recognizing that life is hard and we all have struggles, WOW is a place of grace and we pray for each other, support each other, help each other, and serve each other. Our focus of study has been God s view of the world vs. the secular view and other religious views. We have sought to understand how to reach out to those with views differing from ours and to be winsome Christian women. We have collected items for the backpack ministry, helped fund a program for at risk children in High Point, served meals to the women s shelter in Lexington, collected personal care items for the homeless shelters, and collected school supplies and small toys for the children in the Dominican Republic since we have direct contact there from the Youth Mission Trip. Pleasant Youth CREW (Christians Ready Equipped & Willing) is focused on helping our Middle School and High School students (5 th -12 th Grade) develop their relationship with Jesus Christ while equipping them to make a difference by boldly living for Christ in their school, family, and community. The Mt. Pleasant Youth CREW believes that being active in ministry is important and we have many opportunities to serve the Lord together. We take an active role in the Backpack Outreach Ministry by coming together twice a month and packing the bags. We serve in various capacities in the church, to include, Greeters, Worship Leaders, and even teaching in the Children s Church. We partake in many events throughout the year that include concerts, bowling, movies, lock-ins, the Summer Beach Retreat, the Winter Retreat, and much more. Sunday Mornings The MTP Youth CREW provides Fun, Bible based Sunday School classes during the 9:45am service for both our Middle School (X-Change -5 th -6 th grade - and Vertical 7 th -8 th grade) and our Senior High School (Summit 9 th -12 th grade) students. The Youth also enjoy an 11:00am Combined Youth Worship Service in the Youth Center. Sunday Evenings Sunday evenings from 5pm-7pm the MTP Youth CREW (5th-12 th Grade) enjoy a Dinner from 5-5:30pm, followed by an Activity/Game from 5:30-6pm and then wrap up the evening with a Bible Study from 6-7pm Thrive on the Five! On the 5 th Sunday of the month the MTP Youth CREW enjoy a night out, filled with Fun, Fellowship, & Faith! The Youth enjoy a different activity each time, including Laser Tag, Bowling, Ice Skating, and so much more! Wednesday Youth Breakfast What a wonderful way for our youth to be provided, both physically and spiritually before school! Every Wednesday morning that school is in session, a hot breakfast is prepared and served to all Youth (5 th -12 th grade) in the community. Breakfast begins at 7am and is followed by a devotion. Following the devotion transportation is provided for all youth to their school. Transportation is provided to Friendship Elementary, Ledford Middle and Senior High Schools, and Oak Grove Middle and Senior High Schools. All youth (5 th -12 th grade) are encouraged to attend. This ministry has volunteers that provide food and cook weekly. We welcome any food donations you are able to provide. Contact Person: Teresa Harden & Pastor Craig Stockwell Wednesday Evenings Family Night (10 weeks during the Fall/10 weeks during the Winter) the Youth enjoy the Fellowship, Food, and a Faith-filled Bible Study!
