Celebration of the Sacrament of Baptism Amalia Juniper Burgart Congregational Response Through God s covenant and the sacrament of baptism, we welcome this new sister into God s kingdom family. We promise, relying on God s help, to order our congregational and individual life and witness that she may grow in the knowledge of the love of God and grow in her commitment to Christ as Lord and Savior. We further seek to surround her continually with Christian love and care, that she may live as Christ commands. 5 MANY VOICES: A Borderless Gospel Borders and boundaries provide a sense of place, distinctiveness, definition, and sometimes a healthy sense of security. But they can also define spaces of complacency and comfort or become barriers that divide, separate, and create obstacles to the full life into which Jesus invites us. This summer, special guests from diverse places around the country and the world will serve as our preachers. We ve given them a great question to frame their messages: From where you are in the Kingdom, what do you sense the Spirit saying to the Church for this time? It is a challenging question that will engage a gospel that transcends boundaries and invites us to follow Jesus into the great adventure of Kingdom life.
