3 Someday we each will meet the Lord, face to face. What do YOU want the Lord to say to YOU when you meet Him in Glory (assuming we have given our life to Christ!)? As a pastor, you often field all sorts of feedback which isn t a bad thing most of the time if it s delivered thoughtfully and in love to the recipient. Recently someone said, Pastor Allan is never in his office!! I feel so bad that someone came to visit me, and I wasn t here, but did it mean I m never here? I hope our congregation knows that I have given my heart, soul, and nearly every iota of energy that I have to the work of Plum Creek. In all honesty, a lot of the work that I have done isn t seen every day. The hard thing about ministry is that the efforts are not quantifiable like a job where you work 9 am till 5 pm. I told someone recently, I never see my family. I think the most important thing we should be able to say is: I was faithful in my walk with Christ. We can all acknowledge that our work is never perfect; we all make mistakes and fall short. But if some day when we meet Christ face to face, we can say, Lord it wasn t pretty, but I tried my absolute best, poured every part of my heart out for your work I honestly think THAT will be more than enough for the Lord! We can sit on the sideline, complain, take joy in the failure of our peers, look at the Church like the Wendy s Drive Thru Window, or we can step up to the plate until our final breath and faithfully serve Him at home, in the workplace, in our playtime, and in the local church. At the end of the day it s not necessarily the outcome of your decisions that counts the most. It s an affirmative answer to this question from Christ: Were you faithful? 5 News from the Deacons: Food Bank Needs The Plum Food Bank is in need of paper products, cleaning products and personal care items. Monetary donations are also appreciated! See Larry Sturchio. Music Ministries News We enjoyed a pleasant evening with Byron and Suzy Chertik on July 30 at Praise at the Pavilion. Suzy s voice, in particular, was beautiful!

I pray we are able to see the evening to completion; as last year we were stormed out. But God makes that call! It is difficult to write anything else regarding fall at Plum Creek.

6 Music Ministries News We enjoyed a pleasant evening with Byron and Suzy Chertik on July 30 at Praise at the Pavilion. Suzy s voice, in particular, was beautiful! I love talented people who are down-to-earth and humble, and that was this duo, and their two musical associates, Ted and Cody! August 27 marks our Hymnsing. I pray we are able to see the evening to completion; as last year we were stormed out. But God makes that call! It is difficult to write anything else regarding fall at Plum Creek. God only knows the outcome of September 17, when Plum Creek decides to remain with or leave the PCUSA. The vote will affect not only the congregation but the staff (not just the pastor) as well. May God s will be done! In His love, Gloria Mayo Music Director Sunday School is 9:00am to 9:45am All are welcome! There are classes for all ages! The Christian Education Committee is preparing for a fantastic year of student and youth programming. Sunday School classes are held for all ages on Sundays at 9:00am, and the youth will be working with Gospel Lights fantastic curriculum! Additionally, students from Kindergarten to 5 th grade are always welcome at our weekly Living Roots student worship time, during the second half of service. Youth from 7 th -12 th grade are invited to our weekly Sunday night youth group (6:00-8:00pm) where we will be looking at the Books of Daniel and Revelation! Also be sure to sign up your 7 th -12 th Grade students for PointFest (September 16 th ), an exciting program hosted at Cedar Point, Sandusky Ohio. There, we will not only get to ride some amazing roller coasters, but also hear some great Christian bands and speakers.
