2 2 Corinthians 5:20 So we are ambassadors for Christ, since God is making his appeal through us; we entreat you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God. Matthew 28:19-20 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything that I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age. 3 Jesus is recorded in Matthew s Gospel in the ninth chapter as stating The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. This statement was true in the day of Jesus ministry on earth and is still true today. According to a recent study by the Barna Group 45% of Americans identify themselves as unchurched or not committed to a Church consistently. Using this passport we are believing that God will allow us, as the Church, through you to put a dent in that number and allow more people to experience God and His Church. Take this passport with you everywhere you go as you share the goodness and greatness of our God. 3

5 ABC S OF SALVATION Some people think a personal relationship with God is something only theologians can comprehend. Actually, God s plan of salvation is simple enough for everyone to understand. Here are the ABC s of Salvation. Admit to God that you are a sinner. All persons need salvation. Each of us has a problem the Bible calls sin. Sin is a refusal to acknowledge God s authority over our lives. Everyone who does not live a life of perfect obedience to the Lord is guilty of sin. For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God (Rom. 3:23). Since none of us is perfect, all of us are sinners (Rom. 3:10-18). Admitting that you are a sinner and separated from God is the first step of repentance, which is turning from sin and self and turning toward God. Believe in Jesus Christ as God s Son and receive Jesus gift of forgiveness from sin. God loves each of us. God offers us salvation. Although we have done nothing to deserve His love and salvation, God wants to save us. Confess your faith in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord to others. After you have received Jesus Christ into your life, share your decision with another person. Following Christ s example, ask for baptism by immersion in your local church as a public expression of your faith. If you confess with your mouth, Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that god raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with the heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved (Rom. 10:9-10). 5

6 Believers often think of evangelism in terms of introducing Jesus to strangers only. Actually, God has strategically positioned you in relationships with family, friends, co-workers and classmates. In the context of Acts 1:8, Jerusalem represents our closest web of relationships. These relationships present organic opportunities for us to witness and make a great impact for Jesus Christ. Go forth and trust God to deploy you as an Ambassador of Christ in your Jerusalem context. You will be amazed by the transformation that will take place in your relationships, as you lovingly share the Gospel for the glory of God. Begin to witness the power of bold evangelism for the betterment of your family. 6

8 You are the salt of the earth, but if the salt loses its flavor, how then can it be made salty again. It is good for nothing except to be to be thrown out and trampled by men. You are the light of the world, a city on a hill cannot be hidden. (Matthew 5:13-14) The term Evange-Phobia has been coined to express the anxiety that many persons feel about sharing the Gospel, particularly with people they many not know. However, a general rule of marketing says that one may not know the end result, after hundreds of contacts are reached. In the same way, every lead does not result in a sale everyone we witness to may not come to church. Our GOAL is to not to be successful; our CHARGE is to be faithful. 8

9 Below please list the places in your community and neighborhood that you visit or pass frequently. Commit to pray for those who work and live here and for God to identify who you should approach with His Gospel and invite to Church. 9

10 In Jesus time, Jews did not hold things in common with the Samaritans. Samaria represents the hostile culture that is antagonistic toward God, God s Word, God s people and God s church. We are called as believers to present Christ over culture; this means we are to provide the Kingdom view of this world, as an alternative to our society s views and values. We can do this through our social media influence, by making efforts to protect religious liberty, by challenging the opposing values imbedded in our educational policy and by supporting and protecting movies, media and other art forms that demonstrate our faith at work within our culture today. 10

12 On the day of Pentecost, every person spoke of the deeds of power in their own language. This signifies the international and multi-cultural na ture of the Church and our responsibility as Ambassadors to have a global view of our role as representatives of Christ. While statistically, Christianity is declining in The United States of America, it is flourishing in other parts of the world, like Latin America and Sub-Saharan Africa. Because of the outsized influence of America, we as believers have a responsibility to come alongside those who are advancing the cause of Christ in these fertile nations. 12

14 Embassy: Just as an embassy is the legal property of its home country, so the church is the physical property of the Kingdom of God on earth. God s plan to develop disciples is The Church, so we are charged to be ambassadors to invite people to Christ and into safe asylum of the sanctuary/church. According to Thom Rainer, church strategist, ninety-six percent of the of the unchurched are somewhat likely to attend church if asked. 14
