2 Begin Prayer by Entering into an Attitude of Worship and Submission Our Father in heaven, My loving Father, who wants only good for me, his child. I bow in humble worship of my awesome God. Hallowed be your name. My God Your name is sacred and holy. I come in awe, reverence, honor; both in words and in actions. Your kingdom come. I make you King of my life - come and reign in me now. I look forward to participating in your future kingdom. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. I submit my will to your perfect will. I want what you want in my life.

3 Transition From Worship and Submission To Our Prayer Requests 11 Give us this day our daily bread. 12 And forgive us our debts, As we forgive our debtors. 13 And do not lead us into temptation, But deliver us from the evil. Prayer requests are us asking our Heavenly Father to intervene on our behalf. To change hearts, minds and life s situations to meet the life needs. To fit together the puzzle of what his path looks like and to supply the missing pieces.

5 Give us this day our daily bread. Jesus is teaching us 1. God cares about all the details of our lives. 2. To have the correct attitude about our physical and material needs. 3. To declare our physical dependence on God. 4. To ask for sufficient provision for our daily needs.

6 An example of God providing. daily bread is manna in the desert (Exodus 16) Give us this day our daily bread God supplies it, we gather it (Rick Warren) When we pray for our daily bread, we are bringing God into the center of our lives, asking for temporal blessings in the same spirit in which we d ask for forgiveness. 7 Correct attitudes about money Matt 6:19-24 (NKJV) 19. Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth 20 but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, 21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also 23 If therefore your eye is good, your whole body will be full of light. 23 But if your eye is bad, your whole body will be full of darkness How we view money, life,and God determines whether we walk a good or evil path. Develop a Biblical worldview 24 You cannot serve God and mammon (money).???? But godliness with contentment is great gain 1 Tim 6:6-10

8 Correct attitudes about physical needs Matt 6:25-33 (NKJV) 25. Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing? Do not worry do not have a consuming anxiety about the needs of life Look at nature birds, the grass and flowers God has provided what they need Worry does not change anything except our focus 33 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things (food, drink, clothing/shelter) shall be added to you.

To declare our physical dependence on God. 4. To ask for sufficient provision for our daily needs. Asking God to give is the key to His treasury of resources. A child makes bold requests of a parent because she instinctively trusts the parent to provide for her. Likewise, we must present our needs to our heavenly Father, asking Him to supply them (1)

10 Give us this day our daily bread Jesus is teaching us To ask for sufficient provision for our, and. others, daily needs. 7 Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. 8 For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened. Matt 7:7-8 (NIV) And my God will meet all your needs according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus. Phil 4:19 (NIV) My bread, your bread, our bread...praying for others needs

11 My Prayer Give us this day our daily bread. Father God, I know you care about all the details of my life. Help me to have the correct attitudes about my physical and material needs. I declare my physical dependence on you. I ask for sufficient provision for today to meet my needs, and to help meet the needs of others, for your honor and glory.

12 My Prayer Give us this day our daily bread We can count on God s faithfulness to keep His promises. We. will experience that faithfulness as we explore what give us today our daily bread really means. As we step out in faith, we ll discover it s a firm foundation we re standing on, not thin air.
