8 HAMILTON SEVENTH-DAY ADVENTIST CHURCH Our Vision: The vision of the Hamilton Seventh-day Adventist Church is to be a caring, biblically directed Christian Fellowship, where everyone experiences a loving relationship with Jesus Christ and is committed to using their talents and abilities to prepare others for His Second Coming. Our Mission: The mission of the Hamilton Seventh-day Adventist Church is to proclaim the everlasting gospel to our families, friends and neighbors, leading them to accept Jesus Christ as their personal Savior and nurturing them through Christ centered ministries in preparation for His soon return. Our Method: We pursue this mission under the guidance of the Holy Spirit through: Preaching: We proclaim the message of a loving God fully revealed in His Son Jesus Christ and the Bible. We present the Bible s full message, which includes the second advent of Jesus Christ and the Ten Commandment law with its reminder of the Seventh-day Sabbath. Teaching: We nurture the development of a loving relationship with God, by furthering the understanding of God s will through Bible studies, teaching health and stewardship principles and community seminars. Restorating: We minister to the needs of the whole person, which involves the compassionate ministry of restoring the spiritual, physical, emotional and social well-being through various community services, health programs and support group ministries. Discipling: Affirming continued spiritual growth and development of all members. We nurture the converted, instruct them in righteous living, train them for effective witness and encourage their responsive obedience to God s Will. 9 Continued 5. The Office of Education is accepting proposals for the cleaning of classrooms at Bermuda Institute. Interested persons may contact the Conference office at for appointments. 6. There will be SHUTTLE SERVICE for the three Sabbaths, April 15, April 22 and April 29 for the Good New Gospel Explosion. The shuttle will be running from Devonshire SDA Church starting at 9:15 am to 11:15 am. The shuttle will start taking people back to Devonshire SDA Church starting at 12:30 p.m. The shuttle will leave from in front of the Hamilton SDA Church. 7. "Bermuda Institute is still accepting Applications for New Students for the school year. Deadline is Monday, April 24, Please see the bulletin board for full details." 8. Stephen Ministers Commissioned today: Today is a joyous occasion here at Hamilton SDA church. In our Divine Worship Service 17 lay people from our congregation are being commissioned into a special ministry of care and concern for others as Stephen Ministers (SM). This rite of commissioning culminates a period of extensive training and preparation for caring ministry through the Stephen series, a program for lay caring ministry developed and administered by Stephen Ministries St. Louis. Our SMs have studied and practiced skills in such areas as dealing with feelings, crisis intervention, asserting oneself with gentleness and firmness, and numerous other topics to prepare them to help people who are experiencing problems in their lives. After commissioning these SMs will be assigned to minister in our congregation and community, working with people who are experiencing such life crises as hospitalization, retirement, financial setback, loss of a loved one, divorce, spiritual slump or any number of difficulties people face in daily living. We thank God for these SMs for sharing their gifts of caring and listening. Their ministries will increase greatly the overall ministry of our Lord Jesus Christ at Hamilton SDA church. Please keep these persons in your prayers as they carry the love of Christ to their care receivers.
