Example: Jesus had the most authority; therefore He gave His life for us, His Bride Ephesians 5:25 Example: Husband has the most authority in the home; therefore he is to serve as Jesus did. 2. is for protection: Hebrews 13:17 Example: Parents have authority to protect their children. 9 The Relationship of Positional and Relational - Positional authority works best when it is preceded by Relational authority: 2 Samuel 5:2-3 - Positional authority (an ; Saul) should provide the foundation for relational authority to be established for another. Or else it will be an Absalom. - One with relational authority should allow the one with positional authority to establish positional authority: Elders gave David his authority he did not take it for himself.
