2 40 Days of Prayer T he Mount Global Fellowship of Churches There are eleven commitments below that you are asked to take action on over the next 40 days. God desires to communicate with you through prayer. Let's start this journey together believing that by the conclusion of these 40 days every participating household will experience God s amazing presence and receive His blessing in every area of our lives. Expect God s presence to bring peace, financial prosperity, promotion, healing, joy, unity in marriages, and spiritual growth to your home. 1. Establishing a Dedicated Time of Prayer: Each week we will pray for a specific theme. You will see the weekly theme highlighted on the prayer calendar. Print out the monthly calendar and post it or take it with you so you can be reminded to pray. Decide the time that you will spend in prayer daily. The goal is for every Partner to establish an intimate relationship with God. As you pray, spend time listening for God to respond back to you. Please don t view these prayers as an exercise where you just pray the prayers on the calendar and then go about your day. Have a conversation with God. Expect Him to speak to you throughout your day and to answer your prayers. Note: Most of the prayers on the prayer calendar are supplications. When you pray, use the ACTS acronym that Bishop taught to add and pray accordingly adding in what is missing from the prayer calendar: Adoration~Confession~Thanksgiving~Supplication 2. Building a Family Altar: Establish at least one family night of prayer a week where everyone in your household joins together for prayer. Make the announcement of this designated time at the beginning of the week to ensure that everyone plans their schedules accordingly. Establish a place in your home for prayer. 3. Reading Scripture: Along with prayer, Scriptures are included that support the prayer for that day. You are encouraged to meditate on the Scriptures throughout the day. 4. Joining the Prayer Line: Join the Morning Prayer line from 6:00am - 6:10am every morning. It is an excellent way to start off your day. 5. Performing a Spiritual Housecleaning: Pray through your house. You will find a housecleaning prayer included in this packet. All rights reserved. 3 40 Days of Prayer 6. Fasting: Fast at least 1 day a week. Choose 1 day each week where you will fast from social media, the internet, and/or food or a combination of some or all to focus on prayer. This is an individual choice so please ask God for direction in determining what you should fast from. Families are encouraged to fast together to create greater unity within their respective household. Please seek medical advice before participating as necessary. Here is a sample as to how to start your fast. With God s help I commit to fasting this day(s) of the week from the hours of to. I will sacrifice (a meal, social media, etc.). During this time of fasting, I am asking God to (list petitions and scripture that supports the petition. For example, Heal my body in accordance with Isaiah 53:4-5; Psalm 107: Make sure that you not only write down the Scripture but confess it throughout the time of your fasting and claim God s promise. 7. Identifying and Praying for Your Sphere of Influence: Pray for all those in your sphere of influence. Each of us has people in our lives that God has called us to influence. The obvious are our friends and family members but don t forget about your co-workers, people you may meet during the course of your day including grocery store clerks, fast food servers, doctors, people in the checkout line, etc. who may need your prayers. Sometimes you can ask them if you can pray for them but many times you can just pray to God on their behalf. 8. Performing an Act of Kindness: Perform one act of kindness every week. Ask God to make you a blessing to someone. We are moving away from self-centeredness where we go through our day consumed with our own needs and asking God to show us people who He can reach through us. You are an agent of blessing who is contagiously blessed! 9. Conducting Prayer Walks: Release the blessing of the Lord on your neighbors as you walk through your neighborhood, visit schools or public places. No, we are not challenging the demonic powers in the area but simply inviting God to come into those areas where we find ourselves throughout the day. For instance as you go for a walk through your neighborhood, ask God to come into your neighborhood. Ask Him to protect the homes and the residents. As you walk by a home, ask God to save the people in that house and to meet their needs. 10. Praying for Household Salvation: Over the next 40 days we are asking God to bring everyone in our household into the Kingdom of God. Below, there is a place reserved for you to write down all of the individuals you are asking God to save during this 40 days of prayer. Pray the designated salvation prayer daily. Your prayers are a powerful force that should be specifically targeted to bringing deliverance. Please don t pray about their faults and their sins, instead focus on going after the strongman that is preventing them from seeing the truth of the Gospel. (Mark 3:27) Let the Holy Spirit do His job. Your responsibility is to pray unless the Holy Spirit tells you to do something else specifically. As a part of this prayer, you will ask God to send equipped laborers into their lives that will minister to them about Jesus since people have a tendency to ignore the counsel of those who are closest to them when they are caught in the bondages of sin.

4 And if they try to offend you, don t take it personally. Consider that as a confirmation that you are hitting the enemy and he wants you to back up. Make the decision to forgive and to walk in love (1 Corinthians 14:1). The enemy is fighting a losing battle when you stay focused on this assignment and continue to pray regardless of how they respond. Finally, know that it is God s will that all men will be saved (1 Timothy 2:4). He wants to see your loved one come into His Kingdom more than you do. 11. Generational Blessings: Over the next 40 days, we are praying for all of the generations that are connected to us. Pray for your children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Note: We will also be praying for our nation, community, government, spiritual leadership, and church over the next 40 days. ADDENDUM: SPIRITUAL HOUSECLEANSING by Elder Deanneen Goodrich Personal Testimony: Years ago, I purchased some matching candlesticks that had a face of the moon on one and the sun on the other. I thought they were exotic and unique pieces and would be the perfect for our dining room table. At the time of the purchase, I was just a person who went to church on Sundays but really wasn t living a Christian lifestyle. Soon after, I began to become serious about developing a relationship with God and started praying and reading my bible. One day as I walked past the dining room, the candlesticks started to rock. I checked the table and it was not moving. Yes, the candlesticks were moving on their own. But when I tried to show this to my husband, the candlesticks stopped moving. I hate to confess this but I still didn t throw them away at the time. I can t remember if I thought I had paid too much to just throw them away. I may have been influenced by the spirit in the object to be passive but this was definitely not the right thing to do. Whenever I was by myself, the candlesticks would continue to rock when I walked by them. Well soon after, my husband started getting more serious about his own relationship with God. And you guessed it, one day the candlesticks started rocking when he walked by. After he saw this, we both knew they had to go. We knew enough not to pick them up ourselves, so we got a long stick and put them in a trash bag and immediately put them in the trash. At the time, I wasn t in a church that taught about the blood or spiritual household cleansing so we basically followed the leading of the Holy Spirit. After this encounter my desire for exotic items left. As I look back, I can remember being attacked by spirits sometimes as I slept. Once the candlesticks were gone, these types of attacks ceased. There are 2 parts to the housecleaning process: A. Removing cursed items and objects B. Praying Through Your Home Before You begin either process do the following: a. Put on the full armor of God. (Ephesians 6:10-18) b. Plead the Blood of Jesus over yourself and your family members. c. Ask God for angelic assistance. d. You can also pray worship music quietly as you pray through your home. 5 40 Days of Prayer Remove Cursed Items and Objects: Evil spirits can occupy a place or an object. The practice of spiritual cleansing of a place can be seen in 2 Chronicles 29:15. In Deuteronomy 7:25-26, God calls certain objects defiled and says that they can bring a curse on you if they are brought into your home. Sometimes we unintentionally bring objects into our homes because someone may give them to us as a gift or we may even inherit them. Ask God to show you any objects or gifts that you currently own that should be removed. This could include books, artwork, sculptures, pornography, jewelry, posters, clothing, shoes or music. Some Christians wear ankhs because they look similar to a cross but it is actually an Egyptian Fertility symbol. As you begin to walk through your house, ask the Holy Spirit to show you anything that needs to be removed and trust Him to show it to you. If your spouse disagrees, just ask them if it is ok for you to remove it from the living space and put it into storage or a non-living space, out in the garage or storage shed. Yes, we would like to ultimately get rid of it but, if there is a disagreement about it, plead the Blood of Jesus over it and command whatever is attached to it remain bound to the item and forbid it from manifesting or transferring to anyone or anything. If your spouse or relative who is not a child insists that it remain in the house, then follow the previous procedures and trust God to protect you and your family. Do not draw attention to the item or fear it. We are not trying to create fear or bring division. Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal to you or your spouse where this item appropriately belongs. He will show you if you are overreacting or bring your spouse into the knowledge of the truth. Before you touch the object, bind whatever is on it to the object in the name of Jesus and command it to stay bound to the object and not transfer to anything or anyone. Pick up the object using an item such as a stick and place it in a garbage bag and remove it from the house. Dispose of it in the trash making sure that it is contained in the garbage bag. Never give these items to anyone else they should be discarded. After you have discarded the items, pray the following prayer: Father, forgive me for bringing items into my home. I am asking you to destroy every demonic assignment or curse that may have resulted as a result of these items being in my home. Praying Through Your Home: Anytime you move into a new place, whether it be a room, apartment, or a house, you need to pray through that space once you have been granted legal authority to rent the use of it or have signed a contract to purchase the property. Legal authority is very important. Use your natural rights to reinforce your spiritual rights. The prayer below includes references to this and the wording specifies your rights based upon your particular circumstance. For instance, as an owner you can cancel the rights of the previous owners because the property is under new management but if you are renting a property you can only enforce your rights over the area that has been leased to you. Even when you travel, you should claim your legal contracted rights for the use of your hotel room to command any demonic entities to leave your room for the duration of your stay. You have no idea what the previous occupants did in that room so this is a good practice to incorporate when you travel.

6 40 Days of Prayer Please note whenever you have visitors, repairmen, or entertain people in your home, it is a good practice to pray through your home soon after the visitors leave. You don t have to go the level of detail presented here in all of these instances because you have a visitor. Just note that visitors can leave spirits behind knowingly or unknowingly and you must pray through your home to cast these spirits out. In addition, some television shows are showcasing the burning of sage as a method of cleansing a home. This is not a Christian method for cleansing your home. The burning of sage, aka saging or smudging is a Native American practice that is starting to gain significant attention in popular culture. It has been my personal experience that Christians who use this method often begin to experience more severe oppression. As a Christian, you have the power of the Holy Spirit, the authority of Christ (Luke 10:17-20), the name of Jesus, the word of God, the blood of Christ, and anointing oil so you don t need to rely on anything else. Use anointing oil that can be purchased from the Mount bookstore. The Mount Intercessors make the anointing oil and it is prayed over by our Bishop and Elder. The Spiritual House Cleansing prayer should be used to pray through your home and should be adapted accordingly at the leading of the Holy Spirit: Spiritual House Cleansing Prayer Father God, in the name of Jesus, I consecrate my home (apartment) to you. As ownership has been transferred to me in the natural through the signing of a contract or rental agreement, legal authority is also transferred to me in the spiritual realm. I decree and declare that the activities of previous occupants and previous owners (if purchased) or current owners (if leasing) of this property are overridden by this legal transaction. Any previous activities and commitments to the powers of darkness made by them in reference to this property or land are forbidden from manifesting or transferring to me, my family, or guests (if you are leasing) and (if you own the property) canceled and nullified in the name of Jesus. As the legal authority over this property, I declare that this property is now under the jurisdiction of the Kingdom of God and all satanic activities or entities are forbidden from entering this place again. In the name of Jesus, I break all satanic rituals, curses, hexes, or spells against this land and property. Father, please send your warring angels to sweep through this house and property to remove every demonic entity and unclean spirit in the name of Jesus as I stand in my authority and command them to go. Directive: Go into each room and open all closets, doorways, cabinets. Anoint all windows, doorways with the anointing oil in each room. In each room pray the following prayer: In the name of Jesus, I take authority over every demonic power and unclean spirit in this room. (Note: Sometimes the Holy Spirit will give you specific names to pray, i.e. spirit of fear, spirit of lust, etc. If this is the case, speak directly to that spirit). I bind you and command you to depart from this property and take everything and everyone associated with you. I cast you into the Abyss and command that you stay there until Jesus returns. I plead the blood of Jesus over every item and area of this room including the ceiling and attic spaces and underneath the floorboards and crawl spaces of this room. Holy Spirit, I ask You to drive out all forces of darkness and fill this room with Your presence, Your peace, and Your protection. I dedicate this property and home as a dwelling place for You, God. Please inhabit my home and watch over me and my family. I thank you for posting gigantic warrior angels around my property to prevent any further entry or return any demonic power or unclean spirit. I decree that this property is now under Your authority and jurisdiction. All rights reserved. Please do not copy any parts or distribute for monetary gain without obtaining written permission.

7 Salvation Prayer: Father, I come before you in the name of Jesus, confessing Your Word that says You desire all men to be saved and to come into the knowledge of the Truth, so I bring before you this day. I stand in my authority and I break the power of Satan and those in his kingdom and bind any of their activities and curses from s life. I release the power of the Holy Spirit to override all of Satan s activities, curses, plans and purposes for their lives. I ask you to deliver them from every addiction, lie, snare, spirit, trap, or device Satan is using to hold them in bondage and ask you to remove every agent of Satan from s life I pray for you to send your assigned laborer(s) equipped with the ability to minister to them I a way that will open his/her eyes to see the truth of the Gospel and receive it. We claim the backslider confessing that the good work You began in them will be brought to completion until the day of Jesus Christ. I praise You in advance for bringing into the Kingdom!

Prepare us for make right decisions, as we fulfill Your call on our talents, personality, and abilities in the wrong way. Doing so led us to live the greater works and make us ready for the lives and destiny. May we be sensitive to the Holy below the level that You desired for our lives. Today we refuse to live the great things you have in store for us. Purge and Spirit, who guides, leads, and directs us in all truth; rest of our lives repeating past mistakes. We ask You to reposition us so prepare our hearts for this next dimension in You. as we overcome impossibilities and reach higher that we can be positioned for greatness and fulfill Your original plan and Let my preparation come into alignment with my heights. I am the temple of the Lord, so anoint beyond my ability to comprehend. Thank you for hear, and what my flesh feels, I stand convinced from sin and death but drew me to life eternal in Christ Jesus. Thank You timing for them. You desire for us to be successful. Thank fulfill Your ordained purpose. Reveal Your plans and me to worship. I am the light of the world, so anoint me to knowing what is best for us. Help us to realize that everything is working for my good because I for being my source and sustainer.
