Marsha has been the church secretary almost 9 years. Being the secretary for you, the church, is a rewarding position and I know Marsha loves her job and it shows. Last week was Secretary s Day, now call Administrative Professionals Day. (it seems like everything is being renamed now doesn t it?) Since Marsha was gone last week we missed the opportunity to recognize her and the hard and dedicated work she does for us, the Pastors, and you the church. We don t want this to slip by because we do appreciate all she does. From the Christian Visitor, Prayer Warrior and the announcements on the screen, to the many, many other weekly and monthly tasks that she performs, she does it with excellence and with a willing heart to serve. Let s turn this week into Secretary s Week to show how much we all appreciate our secretary by sending her a note or card or whatever else the Lord may lay upon your heart to do. 3 ADULT SUNDAY SCHOOL OPPORTUNITY Class: The class had 4 present today. They had 1 member with their Bible and 2 were daily readers. Opal opened the class with prayer and led the lesson on Watch Out for Deceivers. Opal closed the class with prayer. SOS Class: The SOS class had 22. They had 18 members with their Bibles and 14 were daily readers of the Word. The class was glad to have Ann Schroeder back with them Sunday morning. The class had several prayer requests and concerns: Kay Gwin, Roger & Phyllis Adams, Marlys Hayden, Harold Demoret (brother of Shirley Modlin); Carolyn (niece of Darlene Jenkins, Jim Cox and the earthquake in Nepal. Gary Benjamin opened the class with prayer. Burke Rogers led and completed the lesson from study guide Philippians on Stress Free Living. The class closed with The Lord s Prayer. 4 MAY 2015 Local Care Center Worship Services Sunday, May 3, 2015 FCC will be in charge of the afternoon worship services at our local care centers on Sunday, May 3, The residents look forward to our visits and for sharing in a time of songs and devotion. Please join us as a church to care for one another and to care for our community, and to grow in our spiritual journey. The Worship Service Schedule for our local Care Centers is below. Emergency Food Assistance Program Food Distribution TEFAP will be held Thursday, May 28th at the Quonset Hut located at the Anderson County Fair Grounds beginning at 4:00 p.m. Singspiration coming soon May 31, 2015 The next 5 th Sunday Evening Singspiration will be hosted by Garnett Assembly of God, May31 beginning at 6:30 p.m. This is a wonderful opportunity for Christians from all the churches throughout our community to join together and to praise the Lord! 5 WE HONOR AND LOVE YOU Sunday, May 10 A WONDERFUL MOTHER God made a wonderful mother, A mother who never grows old. He made her smile of the sunshine, and He molded her heart of pure gold. In her eyes He placed bright shining stars, in her cheeks, fair roses you see. God made that wonderful mother, And He gave that dear mother to me. AND GRANDMA S TOO While we honor all our mothers with words of love and praise. While we tell about their goodness and their kind and loving ways. We should also think of Grandma, she s a mother too, you see For she mothered my dear mother as my mother mothers me.
