2 Hebrews 10:23-25 NLT 23 Let us hold tightly without wavering to the hope we affirm 24 Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works 25 And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another The writer of Hebrews encourages us to persevere in our faith. The call to persevere is a specific call to motivate and encourage one another in our journey of faith. At Living Hope, we respond to this challenge through relationships, support, and growth found in our HOPE Groups. We invite you to persevere in your faith by joining a new HOPE Group this spring. The call to discipleship is often contrary to the way of culture. Life is busy, crowded, noisy, and stressful; if we are not intentional, we allow the circumstances of life to push Christ from the center of our heart. We believe that you will find strength and encouragement to live in relationship with God as you make the decision to live out your faith in community. Our HOPE Groups are a great place to find that community. Our groups are the best place for you to: Meet new friends from within our church family Develop your faith and learn from Christ Find support from others through prayer & personal connection We have 11 new groups that will begin the week of Feb. 15th and conclude the last week of April. As a part of a group, you will have enough time to grow in your faith and meet new friends, yet you won t be committing to anything past April. 4 spring 2015 wednesdays FAQ S Fresh Start 7pm / Olathe Home This group is designed for those who may be new to faith in Jesus Christ, or for those who would like to get a fresh start in their relationship with Him. Topics covered include: accepting God s grace, worship, handling failure, understanding God s Word, following God s guidance, your shape for service, living in community, and more. In addition, emphasis will be given to building relationships with others in the group. Sessions will be fast moving, challenging, and fun. In the Name of Jesus In the midst of a culture that constantly tells us to live for ourselves, come explore what it truly means to live In the name of Jesus. For a society that measures successful leadership in terms of the effectiveness of the individual, Henri Nouwen offers a counter definition that is witnessed by a communal and mutual experience. Leadership cannot function apart from the community. Abraham: The Test of Faith There are no instant saints. That s true for everyone. When he said yes to God s call, he set out on a lifelong path of growth and transformation. Abraham explores the events and circumstances that shaped Abraham s walk with God, highlighting the tests of faith that matured him into becoming God s partner in redeeming humanity. Angry Birds & Killer Bees Whether your child is in diapers or driving, the process of helping our children navigate a hyper-sexualized culture is our parental responsibility. This group will explore the process of stewarding our children s sexuality by exploring a variety of topics introduced in Angry Birds & Killer Bees. We will explore sexuality in Biblically consistent, yet scientifically honest ways, so that you can equip your kiddos to live sexually pure lives. The Legacy Path (Parenting) Every path has a destination. The Legacy Path will take parents down the path of intentional spiritual parenting (and Grandparenting). The destination is a new generation of children emerging as adults who know how to love God and love people. You will find many practical steps explained to help you lead your children spiritually. What do the childcare designations mean? Parent Rotation: Each parent that signs up for the group will serve on a scheduled rotation to watch children. The two parents scheduled to watch the kids will do so at the same location of the group meeting. People without children who attend these groups will not be asked to watch children. Wednesday Night Activities: These group meet on Wednesday evenings from 7-8:15pm to take advantage of the already programmed children s activities at church.
