We can only do this through becoming a DISCIPLE as can be described in the following way: D = Death: Rebirth, Repentance, Baptism and Obedience Luk 14:26-27 (NKJVS) 26 " If anyone comes to Me and does not hate his father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters, yes, and his own life also, he cannot be My disciple. 27 And whoever does not bear his cross and come after Me cannot be My disciple. Luk 14:33 (NKJVS) 33 So likewise, whoever of you does not forsake all that he has cannot be My disciple. I = Intend: Life S = Salvation: Believe C = Christ: Who we are in Christ? I = Influence. From: Eph 5:16 Redeeming G1805 the G3588 time, G2540 because G3754 the G3588 days G2250 are G1526 evil. G4190 Evil, properly in effect or influence Being a disciple 2

3 P = Praise L = Love E = Endurance by Mat 28:19 (NKJVS) 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, A. Who are we in Christ? Eph 1:1-2 (NKJVS) 1 Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, To the saints who are in Ephesus, and faithful IN Christ Jesus: 2 Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. To be in Christ Jesus is to GIVE yourself wholly TO be: 1. Anointed. We are anointed because we are 2. In contact with Jesus ; By being in contact He can therefore smear or rub you with oil to 3. consecrate you in an office or religious service; By being 4. furnished with everything what is needed. You can have FAITH in this because you KNOW He will 5. act towards you in a given manner. B. How can you be in contact with Christ JESUS? 1. First we must be moderate Phi 4:5 (NKJVS) Let your gentleness be known to all men. The Lord is at hand. You are gentle or moderate if you: Act appropriate: That is to act a. Gentle b. Patient; with the motive to c. Give place for Him; by d. Resembling (copy, yield to) Him. Because you resemble Him you can now fulfil the law of Christ. 2. Fulfil the law of Christ To fulfil the law of Christ is to: Being a disciple 3

4 a. Restore those that are at fault Gal 6:1 (NKJVS) Brethren, if a man is overtaken in any trespass, you who are spiritual restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness, considering yourself lest you also be tempted. Restore those that are at fault now is to: i. complete them thoroughly, that is, ii. repair (literally or figuratively) or iii. adjust: - fit, frame, mend, (make) perfect (-ly join together) and prepare. b. Bear one another s burdens Gal 6:2 (NKJVS) Bear one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ. A burden in this context is a weight or figuratively a load of burden (-some) and or weight. 1. abundance, and 2. authority which causes a To bear one another s burdens is then to: i. lift by supporting them (c and d that follows); and ii. literally or figuratively endure, declare, sustain, receive, etc by walking with them. c. Do good unto all men Gal 6:10 (NKJVS) Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all, especially to those who are of the household of faith. To do good is to do: i. Beautiful things, but chiefly ii. (figuratively) good (literally or morally), that is, valuable or virtuous (for appearance or use) things. d. Glory in the cross Gal 6:14 (NKJVS) But God forbid that I should boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world. To glory in the cross is to: i. vaunt (in a good or a bad sense): - (make) boast, glory, joy, rejoice through ii. Prayer (wish; by implication to pray to God: - pray, will, wish). Being a disciple 4

5 e. Walk according to the rules above Gal 6:15-16 (NKJVS) For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision avails anything, but a new creation. 16 And as many as walk according to this rule, peace and mercy be upon them, and upon the Israel of God. To walk according to this law or rule is to: i. march in (military) rank (keep step), that is, ii. (figuratively) to conform to virtue and piety: - walk (orderly). C. How can you be IN Christ JESUS? We have looked at how we can be in contact with Jesus. It is to give ourselves WHOLLY to Jesus. Because we are IN Christ Jesus we know we have been anointed and furnished with everything that is needed. This we know because we have experience, through endurance, that He acts towards us in a certain manner. But, to be in Christ Jesus is also to be consecrated in an OFFICE or religious service. Let us now go and see how we can give ourselves wholly to a religious service: Religious service (loving and reverencing the Supreme Being and obeying his precepts; as a religious man) For it to be a RELIGIOUS SERVICE, it must comprise of the following: 1. A devoted enemy Neh 6:1 (NKJVS) 1 Now it happened when Sanballat ((HBND) bramble- bush; enemy in secret), Tobiah ((HBND) the Lord is good), Geshem ("Gashum said it", made him a type of those who create a common report) the Arab, and the rest of our enemies heard that I had rebuilt the wall, and that there were no breaks left in it (though at that time I had not hung the doors in the gates), Neh 6:2 (NKJVS) 2 that Sanballat and Geshem sent to me, saying, " Come, let us meet together among the villages in the plain of Ono (grief or strength or iniquity of him)." But they thought to do me harm. Neh 6:9 (NKJVS) 9 For they all were trying to make us afraid, saying, "Their hands will be weakened in the work, and it will not be done." Now therefore, O God, strengthen my hands. From the above verse and the meanings of the different names we can determine those that came against Nehemiah were: a) Sanballat which referes to the enemy in secret; b) Geshem which refers to one who with pressure wanted Nehemiah to: i. Braid (To weave or infold three or more strands to form one, To reproach and to deceive), that is, ii. intermix; iii. technically to traffic (as if by barter); also iv. to give or be security (as a kind of exchange): - engage, (inter-) meddle (with), mingle (self), mortgage, occupy, give pledges, be (- come, put in) surety, undertake. c) With Tobiah in the midst which refers to the goodness of the Lord, nothing could overcome Nehemiah, IF he stayed in the JESUS the LORD. Being a disciple 5

6 2. Devoted task Neh 6:3 (NKJVS) 3 So I sent messengers to them, saying, "I am doing a great work, so that I cannot come down. Why should the work cease while I leave it and go down to you?" 3. Religious people Neh 6:10 Afterward I came to the house of Shemaiah the son of Delaiah, the son of Mehetabel, who was a secret informer; and he said, "Let us meet together in the house of God, within the temple, and let us close the doors of the temple, for they are coming to kill you; indeed, at night they will come to kill you." 11 And I said, "Should such a man as I flee? And who is there such as I who would go into the temple to save his life? I will not go in!" 12 Then I perceived that God had not sent him at all, but that he pronounced this prophecy against me because Tobiah and Sanballat had hired him. 13 For this reason he was hired, that I should be afraid and act that way and sin, so that they might have cause for an evil report, that they might reproach me. 14 My God, remember Tobiah and Sanballat, according to these their works, and the prophetess Noadiah and the rest of the prophets who would have made me afraid. Summary This for me is such an amazing module. It reiterated the very thing of giving thanks to my Lord and Saviour by accepting my office, as a religious servant or disciple. Being a disciple has given me so many faith building experiences in my life that I strongly can recommend it for you as well. Also read should glory, G2744 o G2744 kauchaomai kow-khah'-om-ahee From some (obsolete) base akin to that of glory, joy, rejoice. aucheo (to boast) and G2172; to vaunt (in a good or a bad sense): - (make) boast, G2172 euchomai yoo'-khom-ahee Middle voice of a primary verb; to wish; by implication to pray to God: - pray, will, wish. moderation G1933 o G1933 epieike s ep-ee-i-kace' From G1909 and G1503; appropriate, that is, (by implication) mild: - gentle, moderation, patient. G1503 ω eiko i'-ko Apparently a primary verb (perhaps akin to G1502 through the idea of faintness as a copy); to resemble: - be like. G1502 ω eiko i'-ko Apparently a primary verb; properly to be weak, that is, yield: - give place. evil. G4190 o G4190 pone ros pon-ay-ros' From a derivative of G4192; hurtful, that is, evil (properly in effect or influence, and thus differing from G2556, which refers rather to essential character, as well as from G4550, which indicates degeneracy from original virtue); figuratively calamitous; also (passively) ill, that is, diseased; but especially (morally) culpable, that is, derelict, vicious, facinorous; neuter (singular) mischief, malice, or (plural) guilt; masculine (singular) the devil, or (plural) sinners: - bad, evil, grievous, harm, lewd, malicious, wicked (-ness). See also G4191. Bear G941 o G941 ω bastazo bas-tad'-zo Perhaps remotely derived from the base of G939 burdens, G922 fulfil G378 (through the idea of removal); to lift, literally or figuratively (endure, declare, sustain, receive, etc.): - bear, carry, take up. G939 basis bas'-ece From ω baino (to walk); a pace ( base ), that is, (by implication) the foot: - foot. o G922 baros bar'-os Probably from the same as G939 (through the notion of going down; compare G899); weight; in the New Testament only, figuratively a load, abundance, authority: - burden (-some), weight. o G378 ω anaple roo an-ap-lay-ro'-o From G303 and G4137; to complete; by implication to occupy, supply; figuratively to accomplish (by coincidence or obedience): - fill up, fulfil, occupy, supply. In compounds (as a prefix) it often means (by implication) repetition, intensity, reversal, etc. G4137 ω ple roo play-ro'-o From G4134; to make replete, that is, (literally) to cram (a net), level up (a hollow), or (figuratively) to furnish (or imbue, diffuse, influence), satisfy, execute (an office), finish (a period or task), verify (or Being a disciple 7

G5548 ω chrio khree'-o Probably akin to G5530 through the idea of contact; to smear or rub with oil, that is, (by implication) to consecrate to an office or religious service: - anoint. G5530 chraomai khrah'-om-ahee Middle voice of a primary verb (perhaps rather from G5495, to handle); to furnish what is needed; (give an oracle, graze [touch slightly], light upon, etc.), that is, (by implication) to employ or (by extension) to act towards one in a given manner: - entreat, use.
