Church-Wide Study: 4 weeks remain What On Earth Am I Here for? The study groups are finding answers to the question, What on earth am I here for? Can you identify the five great purposes God has for your life? This study is giving us the answers and insight that will go with the participants for the rest of their lives. Please arrive by 10:15 and love the children birth through age 3 whose parents bring them to the nursery. See Larry if you can serve. Ushers Be part of a team of four people to serve once every six weeks. You will hand out bulletins before the service and collect the offering during the service. Please see Larry if you can serve. Rebuking the Lord Who would ever want to rebuke the Lord? Sadly,, we do it all the time. He (Jesus) spoke plainly about this, and Peter took him aside and began to rebuke him. (Mark 8:32) Can you believe that Peter called a side-bar with Jesus and talked him down? Like a PR agent, Peter might have told him it is not good for his image to talk about death. Like a campaign manager, Peter might have told him he should stay off the negative, that his words were a campaign nightmare. Like a good friend, Peter might have pulled him aside to tell him, as he later did, not to worry he had his back. Peter rebuked Jesus. Talk about foot and mouth disease! I don't know about you, but I rebuke Jesus all the time: I'm not a big fan of carrying heavy objects, not to mention a symbol of death, the cross. I am not a big fan of selling all I possess and giving it to the poor. After all, they haven't shown that they can handle money. I am not thrilled about washing feet. I would have gone for the money and become a podiatrist if I enjoyed feet. I am not a big fan of being last in line for everything. What is left of the food is cold. I am not a fan of being a servant. It is a thankless job and people take advantage of you. I am not a big fan of associating with criminals. They mess with my image. I would rather protect my skin than stand beside a friend, even if he were innocent. I am not a big fan of suffering. They harassed Jesus almost every day. They bound him, flogged him, nailed him to the cross, hung him up to die, and proceeded to ridicule him as he He then began to teach them that the Son of Man must suffer many things and be rejected by the elders, chief priests and teachers of the law, and that he must be killed and after three days rise again. He spoke plainly about this, and Peter took him aside and began to rebuke him. ~ Mark 8:31-32 ~ drooped from his cross. Who wants any of that? I want to feel safe in his arms. I am not a big fan of dying, even if it is to myself. I d much rather join him for all his guest appearances for dinner at the homes of sinners. I rebuke Jesus all the time. Yet, he comes back, over and over, and whispers in my ear, "Do you love me?" And I always reply, "Yes, Lord, you know I love you!" I guess that is why I cry so often when I look at the cross. His blood drips for me. His last breath cry for forgiveness is offered for me. He died for me. He did what I could not do, so I could gain what I do not deserve. Love so amazing, so divine, demands my soul, my life, my all. Will you give your all to Him who gave His all for you?

The guest speaker will be Kathy Todd who leads a Women s Bible Study ministry and is a church education director in Maine. This year s worship leader will be Andrea Jacoby who was born and raised in Saylorsburg, PA. She has been the Worship Coordinator at Cornerstone Community Church in Kunkletown for 15 years. Please feel free to browse. All items are absolutely free so help yourself. Or maybe you know a family in need for whom you could pick up a few items!!!! The Closet is open whenever the church is in operation. It is also available Monday through Fridays from 9:00 AM to 12:00 Noon when the church office is open. 5 RESURRECTION COOKIES Sunday, March 29 11:30 AM following worship Join the Youth Group and watch a demonstration on the preparation of Resurrection Cookies. Learn how the ingredients, the recipe, and the baking process are used to teach children what Jesus experienced when he was beaten, hung on the cross and arose from the dead. UNITED METHODIST WOMEN March 5 at 7:00 PM All Women are Welcome Learn how you can become a part of the Army of God through the ministry of the Salvation Army. A speaker will share the ministry to our communities which not only teach about Christ and His salvation, but also how to serve others. Learn how you can become involved in feeding the hungry, clothing the less fortunate, and helping ease the burdens of others. Give Thanks! Training for interested volunteers will be available in March. Volunteer assignments and hours will vary according to volunteer s interests and availability. The prayers, cards, calls, s, visits, flowers, fruit basket and meals was overwhelming. The weather outside may be cold and windy, but you have made my heart warm on the inside.
