2 Amazing Truth #1 God is my Creator and He is Holy! Explain Amazing Truth #1 God is the Sovereign Creator and Loving Ruler of all things! Revelation 4:11 - You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they were created and have their being. The picture of the crown represents God. He is the Sovereign Creator and Loving Ruler of all things. He deserves all of our worship, respect, love, and obedience because He is our Creator! Q: Do you know what the word worship means? (Respect, obedience, love) The picture of the earth represents the things that God created. Genesis 1:3 says that God created everything by His spoken Words. He just said, Let there be light, and there was light. Q: What is your favorite thing God created? (Answers vary) Did you know, that YOU are actually God s favorite creation? Out of all the things He made, He loves you the most. In fact, God made you special - In His image! Genesis 1:27 - So God created man in his own image male and female he created them. You re different from the animals. You are special to God! Q: If God created all things, is He in charge of everything? (Yes!) God is Holy God HOLY Psalm 77:13a - Your ways, God, are holy. Q: Do you know what the word holy means? (pure, sinless, set apart) Deuteronomy 32:4 - He [God] is the Rock, his works are perfect, and all his ways are just. God is not only our Creator and King, He is also righteous and perfect. All His ways are holy. God loves what is good and hates what is evil. At the beginning of time, our loving God created a perfect world. Nothing was wrong with it! No pain, no death, no evil. Is that true today? (No). Today there is evil in the world, and Amazing Truth #2 tells us why. Review Amazing Truth #1

4 Amazing Truth #2 I am a sinner who deserves God s judgement Explain Amazing Truth #2 Everyone has rebelled against God and broken His laws. Q: Do you know what these are? (10 Commandments) The 10 Commandments represent God s laws that everyone must obey. God s law teaches us what we SHOULD do and what we SHOULD NOT do. God s law reflects His righteousness. Here are a few of God s laws we must obey: 1. Obey your parents with the right attitude (Eph 6:1 - Children obey your parents ) 2. Tell the truth, do not tell lies (Eph 4:25 - Lie not one to another speak every man truth ) 3. Give to others, do not steal (Eph 4:28 - Let the their steal no more ) Q: Do you know what this is? (Judge s Gavel) A judge uses his gavel to pronounce a judgement on someone for their actions. He slams the gavel on his desk and says, Guilty! or Not guilty! God is not only our Creator and King, He is also man s Judge. God looks at our lives to see if we have perfectly obeyed His laws. Unfortunately, we have all rebelled against God and broken His laws. Instead of pleasing God, we have all rejected Him as our King. The Bible calls breaking God s law sin. Sin is breaking God s law. Romans 3:23 - For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. Q: How have you broken God s laws? (refer to 3 laws above) One day, we will have to face God s judgment for our rebellion and sin Hebrews 9:27 -It is appointed for man to die once, and after that comes judgment. Because we have all rebelled against God by breaking His laws, we must all face God s judgment. The judgement for our rebellion is death. Not only that! Those who reject God as their Creator and King now will be rejected by God for all eternity. I can t imagine bearing God s judgment forever and being separated from his love and goodness. Q: What is God s judgment for our sin? (death/eternal separation) Review Amazing Truth #2

6 Amazing Truth #3 Jesus died on the cross for me, but rose again on day 3! Explain Amazing Truth #3 God loves us, so He sent His Son Jesus to be judged for our sins. Q: Do you remember what sin is? (Breaking God s laws) Correct! Because God is holy, He MUST judge sin. We learned in Truth #2 that the judgment for our rebellion and sin is death AND eternal separation from God. Those who reject God, will be rejected BY God forever and ever in a place of judgment. But there is good news! God is also loving! He loves us so much that He sent His Son, Jesus, to take the judgment of our sins. Romans 5:8 says Romans 5:8 - God shows His love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Q: Do we sinners deserve God s love? (No, but He still loves us!) Jesus loves you so much! He did not deserve to be punished. Jesus was absolutely holy and perfect! But because He loves us, He chose to take our punishment on Himself. Jesus died for us, but that s not the end of the story! Jesus rose from dead and is alive forever today! 1 Corinthians 15:3-4 - Christ died for our sins, according to the Scriptures, that He was buried, that He was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures. Q: According to the Bible, Did Jesus stay dead? (No!) That s right! Jesus rose again on the 3rd day! Jesus, God s Son, destroyed sin s power and conquered death itself! He is a powerful, loving Savior! Q: Have you ever met someone who rose from the dead? (No) Of course not! No one escapes death because everyone has broken God s laws. Jesus didn t sin, so God the Father raised His Son from the dead to prove He is the only one who can save us! Come back tomorrow and learn how you can put your trust in Jesus and have your sins forgiven. Review Amazing Truth #3

8 Amazing Truth #4 Whoever believes on Jesus will not perish, but have everlasting life. Explain Amazing Truth #4 Our sins can be forgiven if we repent and believe the gospel. Mark 1:15 - [Jesus said} the Kingdom of God is at hand; repent and believe in the gospel. Believe Repent Q: Do you know what it means to repent? (To turn away from sin) Repent means to turn away from our sinful rebellion against God. We ve got to make a choice. We ve got to choose to turn FROM sin and turn TO Jesus as our loving Savior. Q: What does it mean to believe? (Faith, trust, dependence) The word believe means to trust. It s not like wishing something is true. It is KNOWING something is true a RELYING (or DEPENDING) on it. What does the Bible tell us to trust in? The Bible tell us to trust in Jesus death and resurrection. 1. You must believe that Jesus died for your sins and that he experienced the judgment your deserved. 2. You must believe that Jesus rose again and that He can give you a new relationship with God! John 3:16 - For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, that whoever BELIEVES in Him should not perish but have eternal life. Jesus the Son is the only way to have a relationship with God the Father John 14:6 - I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. Trusting in Jesus is the only way to experience new and everlasting life. Unfortunately, some people think they earn God s forgiveness just by being extra good or nice. But being good is NOT the way a person is forgiven by God. John 14:6 says you must trust in Jesus alone! Not only that! Trusting in Jesus let s you have a new and right relationship with your Creator! God welcomes you into His family. Now you can experience God s love and forgiveness! Q: Have you turned from your sin and trusted Jesus to save you? Review Amazing Truth #4
