Adventist Teacher Named Rhode Island Adult Educator of the Year By Kelvin Valera Sheryl Buchanan, Rhode Island Adult Educator of the Year Photo from Genesis Center On Sept. 24, 2016, Sheryl Buchanan, a member of Grace and Glory Seventh-day Adventist Church in Providence, was named the Rhode Island Adult Educator of the Year at a ceremony held at WaterFire Providence. Buchanan, adult learning facilitator and evening coordinator at Genesis Center, was selected for this award based on her demonstrated contributions to adult education, the teaching profession, and her impact on student outcomes.
