We at St. James believe that once you come to our Sunday School you are a member for life, and forever a part of this wonderful place. Of course we hope that you will be with us every Sunday, but even if you can only join us a couple of times of year we are thankful to have you here learning and being part of the fun. In order to give you and your family the safest and best possible experience we ask that you fill out this student form for each child you will have attending our Sunday School. 3 Upon rare occasions, minor bumps, bruises, scrapes and small injuries may occur causing us to have to react quickly with antibiotic ointment, small bandages and sometimes antiseptic spray or wipes. In the case of such a minor injury we would like permission to treat quickly. Anything larger than a minor scrape and your child will be immediately escorted down to church in order for you to make the necessary medical response decision. If you do not give us permission we completely understand and in the case of any injury, minor or otherwise, your child will be escorted down to church. I the Parent/Guardian of: Give permission to the St James Sunday School staff for administering antibiotic ointment and or antiseptic spray and wipes in the event of a minor injury such as a small scrape to my child. 4 At St James during special occasions the camera comes out. Many of our pictures are used for promotional purposes in such publications as our website, The Chimes and our Facebook page. Names are not used or printed with images. Your happiness and peace of mind are of the utmost importance to us. Whether you decide to opt out or if you would like to see your lovely faces in these publications, please fill out the form below I the parent/guardian of: give St James permission to use my child s images in the above mentioned publications for promotional purposes and for no other reason. 5 Outside Class Permission Slip: Upon occasion at St James we like to take the classroom outside. We have beautiful grounds and lawn areas and we find that the kids really enjoy breathing in the fresh air and stretching their legs. You will be notified 2 weeks ahead of time when an outside class is going to take place and don t worry your child will remain on the St James grounds until time for communion or end of services depending on the timeframe needed for the lesson. This is a general permission slip for all outside classes going forward and will not need to be reissued. My child has permission for attending outside classes, limited to the grounds of St James By The Sea Episcopal church. 6 The St James Sunday School Rules of Conduct: Our Actions Are Louder Than Our Words 1. Act lovingly: Remember the Golden Rule? We will treat all of those around us in the manner in which we would like to be treated. Use kind words and actions. 2. Act Respectfully: No yelling or screaming, no interrupting when others are talking, no bathroom humor, no violent humor, say our pleases,thank yous and no thank yous, and we walk to and from church quietly. 3. Act Thoughtfully: Think about those around you and how they feel before you act. Help when you see a need. Wait your turn. Help clean up after snack and projects. 4. Act Safely: Do not leave Sunday School without an escort. If a restroom break is needed ask for permission. Pre-k restroom requests will be done in a group with a teacher or the director in attendance. All other ages may walk to the restroom 2X2. 5. Act as Ambassadors: Show everyone how awesome our Sunday School is by following the above rules inside and outside our time together. And Most of all have fun!!!!!!!!!! Procedure for management of the rules: When rules are not followed 3 warnings will be given and if the offending party cannot get themselves under control after the third warning they will be escorted quietly down to parents or guardians in church. All other disciplinary actions are forbidden, including but not limited to: physical discipline, yelling or screaming at child, shaming child by name calling or ridiculing.when this action is taken an explanation will be offered upon request, following services. Rules of Conduct will be posted in each classroom and the Children s Chapel so that children can be gently reminded of the expectations.
