2 n the name of our glorious Lord Jesus Christ, I extend my New Year IGreetings to you! The Lord who has granted a new year in your life, shall do new things for you. He has given you the promise: I will be with you. (Judges 6:16) He will abide with you and do new things in your life. I have been praying for you and your family, who have been reading this magazine. This year, the Lord will be with you and lead you in a wonderful way. All the blessings that you failed to receive last year will be yours this year. The way we pray for you, you too should pray for the Jesus Redeems Ministry. Last year, it was your prayers which supported us in our ministry. We expect that you pray for us this year too. We have been planning to pray and preach the gospel more actively this year than we did in the previous year. Arrangements have been made to conduct fasting prayers in India, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, and Singapore and in the United States of America. God willing, for peace in Sri Lanka we are planning a fasting prayer for 40 days and a prayer journey for 21 days in Sri Lanka. We request your fervent prayers for this. We are planning to get actively involved in village ministry in Tamil Nadu. In all districts of Tamil Nadu, we are prayerfully launching the Getzemene Prayer Centres, to raise an army of God to pray and to preach the word of God to the villagers. Pray that this year, the launching of Getzemene Prayer Centres should be completed in all districts. We have been intently planning to increase our ministry among the children and the youth, to lead them towards Christ. Please pray for our ministry among them. I invite you to join us in our ministry. If you intend to meet the children and the youth for Christ, kindly contact us. We have been prayerfully planning some interesting changes to our television programmes. We make all possible attempts, so that somehow or the other all souls should experience the love of Christ and get blessed. As our ministry keeps expanding, our needs too are increasing. We need the support of your prayer for this. Will you please pray more for our ministry this year, than you did last year? Will you stand by us in support, this year too? I believe that we will be able to achieve great things for the Lord, only if you could support us in your prayers. Please pray! Please act! The Lord shall do great things in the nation! 3 sraelites, the chosen people of God, found Ithemselves in a period of trials. They were living in fear and doubt as to what may happen the next moment. On one side there was blessing and prosperity in the nation! On the other side, all these blessings were brought to nothing by enemies. They were not able to get hold of the fruit of their labour. When Lord who gave His word to Gideon and kept it up, now gives the same promise to you: I will be with you! The Lord tells you that the whole of 2008, I will be with you! The Lord tells you that on all the 365 days, He will be with you. Each day, during all 24 hours, Jesus will be with you. The Lord who was with Abraham and blessed him, who stayed with Moses to lead His people towards liberation, who stayed with Joshua to help in the inheritance of their nation, who was with (JUDGES 6:16) they were in a desperate situation, wondering who would help them, the Lord met Gideon. God told him, To release the children of God from the clutches of their enemies and to bless them, I shall send you to them. When he was perplexed as to how he could overcome the enemies, God promised him, I will be with you. (Judges 6:16) As promised, the Lord abided with Gideon and brought success and liberation to His people. The Jesus Redeems 1 January 2008 David and gave him victories, who was with Esther to protect His people, who was with Paul to use him in ministry, will be with you too. He shall bless you! He shall liberate you! He shall protect you! He shall give you victories! He shall use you in ministry! As the Lord who blesses is with you, this year will be a blessing to you! This year, you shall

4 achieve success! This year, your ministry will be exalted! The all powerful God will be with you. If we have a clear idea about how He will be with us, and what will He do abiding with us, then we can courageously face our future. LORD was with Joseph.. (Gen. 39:2) The Lord was with Joseph, the young man, and protected and guided him till the end. If we have a good knowledge of how the Lord abided with Joseph and what kinds of blessing He bestowed on Him, we shall know how the Lord will be with us, and bless us. Thus we too can inherit His blessings. THE LORD WILL BE A COMFORTER! When Joseph was a young boy, he lost his mother; (Gen. 35:19). So, Joseph s father loved him dearly and cared for him (Gen.37:3). Joseph s brothers grew jealous and sold him up to the Ishmaelites travelling to Egypt (Gen. 37:28). Now, Joseph had been separated from his father. In an alien land, in the absence of both his parents, he lived like an orphan; but God was with him. The Lord was father and mother to Joseph and He comforted him. The Lord shall be the parent to you too! He shall comfort you too! In a family that loves God, both parents passed away. The 12 year old daughter was orphaned. The relatives who had come for the funeral were leaving one by one. No one was willing to take her along as they didn t want to take up the responsibility of her life in future. As she could not be left alone, finally, one family took her along unwillingly. They never sent the child to school but kept her as a servant to do the household work. They exploited her totally and extracted all kinds of work like sweeping, carrying water and cleaning up. They used to give her the left over food. They gave her a torn mat, to sleep in the kitchen. They used to take her to task even for minor errors and beat her up. This little girl was broken hearted; every night she was shedding tears on her bed. Each day was an agony! She was brooding over her plight: In my young days, I suffer so much; how bleak will my future be! It is better that I die! So, she took a wrong decision. She decided to jump into the well at the outskirts of the town. One evening she walked to the well. She wept bitterly: Only if my mother is alive, only if my father is alive, I will not be driven to this end. Only if somebody is there to love me, I needn t have to end my life; but, I have nobody for me! When she was about to jump into the well, a soft voice spoke into her ears: My dear child! I am Jesus; I will be your father and your mother. She wondered who was talking to her and looked around and there was no one. She thought it might be an illusion. Again the voice repeated lovingly: Dear child! I am Jesus; I will be your father and your mother. Why should you die? " I will be with you! " Jesus Redeems 2 January 2008

5 These words of love comforted the little child. Her suicidal impulse changed and she went home. It was the same house, and it was the same drudgery! Yet, every night she knelt on the torn mat and prayed with tears, Jesus, you are my father and my mother! The Lord took care of her as a good parent. He blessed her future and blessed her with a happy life; blessed her with children. I met her in Chennai, as an elderly mother. When I witnessed her deep love for Jesus, I enquired about it and she shared her life story with me. The Lord who was a parent to that little child and comforted her, will be a parent to you and guide you too. Are you worried that you have no one? Jesus is there for you. He will be your parent (Ps. 27:10). He will be compassionate to you like a father. (Ps. 103:13). He will comfort you like a mother (Isa. 66:13). The Lord who was with Joseph as a parent, and guided and comforted him, will be with you and comfort you! THE LORD WILL BE A PROTECTOR! The paths that Joseph traversed were full of harms. Yet, the Lord was with Joseph and protected him all the way. Jesus Redeems 3 January 2008 THE LORD WILL PROTECT FROM HARM! God protected Joseph from harm. As Joseph had no mother, his father loved him dearly. The Lord too loved Joseph so much that He revealed to him things of the future. This provoked his brothers to jealousy and they were determined to kill him (Gen. 27:20). They stripped him of his colourful coat and threw him into a deep dry pit. Joseph was very close to death; yet, as the Lord was with him, he was saved. He was protected through his brother Reuben (Gen. 37: 21,22). In your life too, you may come across evils caused by jealous and wicked people. Fear not, the Lord who was with Joseph will be with you and protect you from all harm. A team of missionary women, during their ministry in north India, had to cross a river once. As they were wondering how to cross the brimming river, A bullock cart came that way. The cart driver asked them to get on to the cart so that he could get them across. Midway across the river, there was a heavy flood and the cart lost its balance and was carried away. It was about to topple, when two young men appeared suddenly. They were swimming along the cart, supporting the cart on both sides. So the cart went steadily across. Slowly swimming side by side, they brought the cart safely to the bank. The missionaries were wondering how these two men were able to support the cart in the flooded river and they kept praising God. As they reached the bank safely, the missionaries turned to thank the two young men; there was on one. Then they understood that the Lord had sent His angels to protect them and their heart was filled with gratitude for God! As the Lord was with them, He guided them; He shall guide you too during harmful situations. " " I will be your Comforter!

6 The LORD is thy keeper: the LORD is thy shade upon thy right hand. The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night. The LORD shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore. (Psalms 121: 5,6,8) THE LORD WILL PROTECT FROM TEMPTATION! Joseph was a slave in the house of Potiphar, the Egyptian officer. There he encountered a major temptation; Potiphar s wife desired him and tried to lure him into sin. But Joseph fled from the sin saying, how then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God? Thus he protected himself from sin. How was it possible for Joseph to flee from sin? The reason was that God was with him (Gen. 39:2). As the Lord was with him, it was possible for him to keep out of evil and live a holy life. As the Lord is with you, He shall protect you too from temptations. In the initial years of my ministry (1978, '79), wherever I went for ministry, some one or the Jesus Redeems 4 January 2008 other used to advise me: It is good that you are doing ministry in your youth; but, you have to remain stable till the end. As I heard this kind of comment often, I had a trace of doubt in my mind: Isn t it possible for me to be stable till the end? During that period, one day, after the completion of a four day ministry in Kannyakumari, twelve of us, as a team, were waiting for the bus at the bus stand in Nagerkoil. An old gentleman I had never met before came straight to me and started conversing about the ministry. His talk was so gentle that I felt like listening to him non stop. After some time, when the bus arrived, he kept his hand on my shoulder and stated, Brother, The Lord has chosen you for his ministry in your youth. The Lord who protected Joseph shall protect you too. With these words he left me. I don t know who he was and till today I haven t met him either. As I was travelling by bus, his words kept ringing in my mind. I felt assured in my faith that the Lord who protected Joseph shall protect me too. He shall protect me till the end. The Lord who has protected me for the past 29 years shall do so till the end; I firmly believe this. Only because the Lord was with Joseph he could flee from sin. The same God will be with you; so, don t be troubled. He shall preserve you and guide you! Do you face temptation in the institution where you study? In the place of your work? Do you face temptation where you live? Are you afraid that you may fall into sinfulness? Fear not; I will be with you, is the promise that the Lord has given you. He shall abide with you and protect you from evil. " " I will be your Protector!

7 HE WILL BE WITH YOU TO BLESS YOU! Joseph was brought to Egypt as a slave. Potiphar, the Egyptian officer bought him and kept him in his house as a servant. the LORD was with Joseph, and he was a prosperous man; and he was in the house of his master the Egyptian. And his master saw that the LORD was with him, and that the LORD made all that he did to prosper in his hand. And Joseph found grace in his sight, and he served him: and he made him overseer over his house, and all that he had he put into his hand. (Gen. 39:2,3,4). As the Lord was with Joseph, whatever he did was successful. The Lord blessed whatever he did. The Lord is with you and hence, He shall make whatever you do prosper. He shall help your business to thrive. He will help you in your family matters. The education of your children, and their marriage will be successful! All that you plan to do will happen; your plan to build a house, to buy a vehicle will be successful. The Lord shall bless your job, your profession. He is with you, only to bless you. As the Lord Jesus is with you, this year will be a blessed one for you. When I visited a particular country for ministry, I met a family. They were Sri Lankans, and because of the problems in their nation, they sold all their property, and with this amount in hand, the whole family along with their children moved to another country as refugees. In that strange place, some wicked men defrauded them and took away the entire amount that they had. To feed their children and to educate them, they borrowed a lot and became debtors. Now, the money lenders started tormenting them. Jesus Redeems 5 January 2008 They were broken hearted thinking about their plight. Unable to live in their own land, and having been deceived in the alien land, they had no hope. Their future was bleak and they took the wrong decision to end their lives. At this juncture, some one told them about Jesus, that Jesus could make them live, if they accepted Him. He shall be with them and bless them. Trusting these words, they went to a church to worship Jesus. They came to know more about Jesus and accepted Him as their Lord. This gave them hope that Jesus Christ would help them to live. This changed their intention to commit suicide. God opened up a way and helped them get a small job. Happily they followed Christ. They glorified Jesus and He blessed them and exalted them. He blessed them with a car and their own house; blessed the children in their education. With great joy, they told me that the lord had blessed them so much in their helpless situation, in that alien land. Dear brothers and sisters, the Lord shall bless you too. As long as He is with you, every day will be miraculous. Make this God of wonders your own. He will be with you. THE LORD WILL BE WITH YOU TO TURN YOU INTO A BLESSING! Besides being blessed, Joseph also became a blessing to the entire Egypt. When Pharaoh, the King of Egypt had a dream, nobody was able to interpret the dream. But, God helped Joseph to interpret it. Hence, Pharaoh said unto Joseph, See, I have set thee over all the land of Egypt. And Pharaoh took off his ring from his hand, and put it upon Joseph s hand, and " " I will bless you!

8 arrayed him in vestures of fine linen, and put a gold chain about his neck; And he made him to ride in the second chariot which he had; and they cried before him, Bow the knee: and he made him ruler over all the land of Egypt. (Gen. 41:41 43). During severe famine, because of Joseph the whole Egypt was saved. Joseph was a blessing to the entire nation. From several nations, people visited Egypt to buy food grains; thus, he was a blessing to many nations. The Lord transformed Joseph into a blessing for the people affected by famine. As the Lord was with him, he became a blessing! The Lord is with you, to turn you into a blessing. You will be a blessing, to your family, your church, your town, and your nation. The Lord will make use of you to help the affected and the needy people. You believe this and you shall receive miracles! You may wonder how you could be a blessing to others when you have nothing and you yourself have problems that are too big to handle. Just look at Joseph. He was only a slave in an alien nation. He was falsely accused of a crime, and found himself in the prison. Such a person became a blessing to the entire nation. How was that possible? The Lord was with Joseph and hence this miracle happened. The only thing that you need is God s presence with you; you shall be a blessing! A small boy from a poor family didn t have the aptitude for studying and so his parents asked him to fend for himself. A person who sympathized with him took him abroad. He could only work for daily wages as he was not educated. Even that labour was not available on all days. In that strange land, he spent his days in penury and hunger. When he grew up to be a young boy, some one told him about Christ, and he accepted Him as Jesus Redeems 6 January 2008 his father. He got close to God, reading the Bible and praying. The Lord who was with Joseph was with him too. He blessed him and exalted him. Now, God has raised him to the level of a great industrialist, earning millions. When I met him, he happily shared with me his experience - how God blessed him and exalted him, though he was not even educated. Now, he is a philanthropist and supports widows by giving them an allowance each month. He has given employment to many poor people. He supports ministries and has built a few churches. I found that the Lord has made him into a blessing to a great number of people, as he did with Joseph. The Lord who changed him into a blessing will do the same to you too. Today, you may not own anything. But it doesn t matter. The only thing you need is God s presence with you; He is the fountain of blessings. The Lord has given you the promise: I will be with you. (Judges 6:16). He wishes to be with you, and respecting His wish if you make Him your own, then, He shall turn you into a blessing and you will be a blessing to many. HOW WILL THE LORD BE WITH YOU? Some may raise the question: I am a common person. The lord is great, all powerful, and greater than the universe. How will He abide with me? Though the Lord is great, He likes to dwell only in the small hearts of humans. The Bible says, Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? (I Corin. 3:16) The lord isn t some one to stay in a building; His dwelling is the heart of each one of us. If you have accepted him, He is already within you. We can realize His presence within us through the Holy Spirit. " " I will keep you blessed!

9 Joseph had the spirit of God (Gen. 41:38). The Lord was with him as a divine spirit. Men of God like Daniel (Dani. 6:3), and David (I Sam. 16:13) had been filled with the Spirit of God. The Lord abided with them as spirit and led them in a blessed way. You are my father and my mother! You are my comforter! Keep me out of the reach of jealous people and the evils of Satan in this wicked world! Protect my soul from sin! The Lord intends to fill you too with His Spirit. When you are full with the spirit within, you shall realise the presence of God with you. This year, make sure to receive this spiritual experience, and you can be assured of His presence with you the whole year through. In the midst of all trials and tribulations, He shall be your protection! He shall bless you and exalt you in whatever you may do. Through you, He shall bless many; and you will be a blessing! Kneel down and in faith raise this prayer with me! Dear Lord of promises! I thank you for the promise that you have given for this year! I thank you for being with me, protecting and guiding me the whole of last year! As you have promised, I request you to abide with me! I accept you into my heart! Please forgive my sins and come within me! Please fill me with the Holy Spirit! I surrender myself to you completely so that you can govern my life! The way you were with Joseph, from today, you dwell within me too! Jesus Redeems 7 January 2008 Bless all work that I do! Bless my job my business my trade my family! Let my income multiply! 10 LE T US START REBUILDING! y God s grace, about 40,000 children of God gather at the Thirappin Vaasal Prayer every month. As you Bknow, the Prayer Meeting is held in a large shed of thatches. As we have to contend with many discomforts in the current arrangement, it is God s pleasure, that He willed to build the Tabernacle of God. He himself gave us a free site for it, in order to carry on the ministry. God s Tabernacle is being built with an area of 2 lakhs sq. ft., so as to seat 50,000 people comfortably for prayer. The job of construction, started in the year 2000, is going on unhindered, by His grace. God has been guiding us till the present moment, totally debtfree. Praise God! The reason is that God raised people to pray and offer for it. The initial stage of construction, that is the concrete-work, is over by God s grace. The next stage is roofing. Following it, flooring and then the relevant finishing is to be done. Roofing is, by way of sheet-covering, supported by iron truss-work. God has graciously supplied us the funds to buy the truss-work. Therefore, sheetcovering is the next job. Please pray for this. It is estimated that we need 14,000 sheets, each costing Rs. 1,000/- TABERNACLE OF GOD! If 14,000 persons come forward, each to contribute Rs. 1,000/-, this work will soon be completed. 11 Foreign New:- K uwait, one of the Arab States, is a small, beautiful country. Long ago, Christian missionaries had rendered medical service to the natives there, through the mission hospitals, at a time when access to facilities had been scarce. The missionaries had built chapels in the hospital premises to worship God. Later, an Englishman, Christian by faith, had discovered oil wells in Kuwait. Since then, the country had picked up development. The Christian have been given the freedom of worship inside the hospital campus, as a token of gratitude for their service to the growth of the nation. The Christians, belonging to 42 denominations, hold service every week, in languages, such as Tamil, English, Malayalam, Telugu, Kannada, Hindi, Arabic and Korean in these Chapels. Everyday, these centers of worship are engaged by one denomination or the other. Friday, being a holiday, is fully utilised for worship, from morning till night for fasting prayer and for all night prayer. There are about ten Tamil congregations and three camp ministries. Deliverance Camp was conducted for 2 days, on 8 and 9 November, 2007, in a big church, under the able guideship of Bro. Shunmugam, the founder of Tamil Full Gospel Prayer Fellowship. The Church overflowed and many were seated outside, to listen to the Word of God. The message being translated into English by Bro. John Somaiah Surrendering themselves to God 9

12 Inside the Church It was indeed a great blessing that the pastors of all denominations had gathered with one accord. Bro. John Somaiah was the interpreter in English. Many were saved and several surrendered to God for reconciliation with Him. Scores stood as witnesses, being delivered from troubles. All praise be to God! Besides this, by God s Grace, congregations of Tamil, Telugu and Sri Lanka were ministered unto, from 7 to 16 November Every congregation made up its mind to pray and win souls for God. Glory to God! 13 TUMOR GONE! Pain - stricken, because of tumour on the right side of the abdomen for a year, I took part in the meeting, prayed to God for the healing. At that time, the Brother, moved by the Holy Spirit on him, called me by name, and he too prayed for the removal of tumour. Instantly, the miracle took place. Tumour gone! Millions of thanks to God! - Jeba Kumar. HEARD THE PRAYER! I was afflicted with chronic head-ache for 10 years and I also had white patches on several areas of my body. 20 Tamil Nadu, fourth position in suicides The provisional data for the year 2006 revealed that the total number of suicides in India has increased by 4,198 to touch 1,18,112 last year, but there was a decline in the cases of farmers taking their lives last year. West Bengal topped the list of suicides with 15,725 suicides, including 6,605 women, compared to 15,015 in 2005 and 13,424 the previous year. Maharashtra, which topped the list of farmers suicide with 4,453 compared to 3,926 in 2005, recorded 15,494 suicides as against 14,426 in These two states were followed by Andhra Pradesh (13,276) which registered a decline of 166 in the suicides, Tamil Nadu (12,381), Karnataka (12,212). The main reasons for people taking the extreme step were family problems, failure in love affairs, illness, examination blues and dowry harassment, an official said, adding majority of them took to consuming poison or hanging. It was in Bengal where a maximum number of 6,605 women committed suicide last year followed by Maharashtra (4,984) and Tamil Nadu (4,872). The total number of women who committed suicide was 42,410. Rajasekharan, Deputy Director of Health Services (DDHS), Vellore. The Deputy Director said that out of the 64,464 persons who were tested in the district in 2006, 1947 were found to be HIV positive. NEWS! Out of the 46,911 pregnant mothers who visited the ICTCs in 2006, 44,727 were counselled.
