2 Our Doctrinal Statement WE BELIEVE that the Bible is the inspired, infallible (unalterable) Word of God written by holy men of old, as they were moved by the Holy Ghost. WE BELIEVE in one God who is infinite in power, holy in nature, attributes and purposes, as well as omniscient and omnipresent. We believe that he was revealed to us as Father in creation, as Son in redemption, and as Holy Spirit in His comforting grace that never leaves those who trust Him. TOPIC: SUBTOPIC: BACKUP SCRIPTURES: Sermon Notes WE BELIEVE that in Jesus dwelleth all the fullness of the Godhead bodily, for it pleased the Father that in Him should all the fullness dwell. WE BELIEVE in the Virgin Birth; Jesus was both human and divine; He was God manifested in the flesh. WE BELIEVE in the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus. We believe that He ascended on high and has sent His spirit, that Holy Ghost, which was poured out at Jerusalem over 1900 years ago, and it is this same Spirit that is filling the hearts of those who diligently seek HIM today. WE BELIEVE in baptism in water by immersion in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and in the baptism of the Holy Ghost, speaking in other tongues as the Spirit gives utterance. This constitutes the new birth. WE BELIEVE in a holy, sanctified life. We believe in divine healing, communion and foot washing. We believe also in the glorious catching away (the Rapture) of the saints when Jesus returns in the clouds in glory to take His people to Heaven. OUR CHIEF AIM is to glorify our Savior, who is Jesus Christ, who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from all iniquity and purify unto Himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.

3 Jacob s Ladder Mission Statement Sacrifice Obedience Commitment Church Purpose: I would like everyone at Jacob s Ladder to k now that we are here in the State of California to promote the Kingdom of God and to recruit souls of men and women of all walks of life into this glorious Kingdom. With this truth established, our primary objective is saving the lost souls, the preservation of the saved soul, and the consecration of the new man in Christ. Our tools to reach our objectives are basically as follows: Repentance from a sinful Life; Water baptism in the name of Jesus The baptism of the Holy Ghost; Educating the lost with the Word; and Referral resources for those that have special needs. With this in mind, I would like for you all to know that I have sought the Lord for approval to expand the operation here at Jacob s Ladder. As your Pastor, it is my desire to acquire a church edifice with a seating capacity suitable for our membership. This will require for us to take this present vision and organize it into a three million dollar project. In closing, I invite any ideas or suggestions to make the vision a reality. 4 Welcome to Our Visitors You did not come to this church by accident. Perhaps a friend or family member invited you. You are not here by choice; you came into this church because the Spirit of our Lord Jesus Christ called you here today. This is an Apostolic church and our Pastor preaches salvation. Acts 2:38 states that we must repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. The Apostolic Doctrine means that in order to be born again, you must be baptized of the water and the Spirit (John 3:5). We pray that you enjoy service today and that you may be touched by the Spirit of the Lord. Baptism in the Holy Spirit by Mary Fairchild, About.com The "Baptism in the Holy Spirit" is understood to be a second baptism, "in fire" or "power," spoken of by Jesus in Acts 1:8. Specifically, it refers to the experience of believers on the Day of Pentecost described in the Book of Acts (Acts 2:4). The following verses provide evidence that the Baptism in the Holy Spirit is a distinct and separate experience from the indwelling of the Holy Spirit that occurs at salvation : John 7:37-39; Acts 2:37-38; Acts 8:15-16; Acts 10: Pentecostal Christians believe in the "Baptism in the Holy Spirit."

Richert, About.com Pentecost Sunday is one of the most ancient feasts of the Church, celebrated early enough to be mentioned in the Acts of the Apostles (20:16) and St. Paul's First Letter to the Corinthians (16:8). It is the 50th day after Easter (if we count both Easter and Pentecost), and it supplants the Jewish feast of Pentecost, which took place 50 days after the Passover and which celebrated the sealing of the Old Covenant on Mount Sinai. The Acts of the Apostles recounts the story of the original Pentecost as well (Acts 2). Jews from all over were gathered in Jerusalem to celebrate the Jewish feast. On that Sunday, ten days after our Lord's Ascension, the Apostles and the Blessed Virgin Mary were gathered in the Upper Room, where they had seen Christ after His Resurrection. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a mighty wind coming, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. And there appeared to them parted tongues as it were of fire, and it sat upon every one of them: And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they began to speak with divers tongues, according as the Holy Ghost gave them to speak. [Acts 2:2-4] Christ had promised His Apostles that He would sent His Holy Spirit, and, on Pentecost, they were granted the gifts of the Spirit. The Apostles began to preach the Gospel in all of the languages that the Jews who were gathered there spoke, and about 3,000 people were converted and baptized that day. That is why Pentecost is often called "the birthday of the Church." On this day, with the descent of the Holy Spirit, Christ's mission is completed, and the New Covenant is inaugurated. In years past, Pentecost was celebrated with greater solemnity than it is today. In fact, the entire period between Easter and Pentecost Sunday was known as Pentecost (and it still is called Pentecost in the Eastern churches, both Catholic and Orthodox). During those 50 days, both fasting and kneeling were strictly forbidden, because this period was supposed to give us a foretaste of the life of Heaven.

6 We re Praying for you This is a message to advise you that I as your Leader in Life serving under and for Christ who is our Life, am putting all members and associates of the Jacob's Ladder Family, that the scripture II Chronicles 7:14 must become a "Living Reality" in the lives of all us here at Jacob's Ladder Apostolic on a daily basis! However, you must first pray for your own household first, then the household of faith (our church family), and everything else can be prioritized and prayed for in the order that The Holy Ghost arranges them in (reference the book of Romans 8:26). DIRECTIONS TO OUR FATHER'S HOUSE Make a Right onto Believeth Blvd. Keep straight and go through the Green Light, which is Jesus Christ. There, you must turn onto the Bridge of Faith, which is over troubled water. When you get off the bridge, make a Right turn and Keep Straight. You are on the King's Highway - Heaven-bound. Keep going for three miles: One for the Father, One for the Son, and One for the Holy Ghost. Then exit off onto Grace Blvd. From there, make a Right turn on Gospel Lane Keep Straight and then make another Right on Prayer Road. As you go on your way, Yield Not to the traffic on Temptation Ave. Also, avoid SIN STREET because it is a DEAD END. Pass up Envy Drive, and Hate Avenue. Also, pass Hypocrisy Street, Gossiping Lane, and Backbiting Blvd. However, you have to go down Long-suffering Lane, Persecution Blvd. And Trials and Tribulations Ave. But that's all right, because VICTORY Street is straight ahead! 7 Meditation - doing good - Hope of Eternal Life CEV Doing what is good - hope of eternal life! Remind your people to obey the rulers and authorities and not to be rebellious. They must always be ready to do something helpful and not say cruel things or argue. They should be gentle and kind to everyone. We used to be stupid, disobedient, and foolish, as well as slaves of all sorts of desires and pleasures. We were evil and jealous. Everyone hated us, and we hated everyone. God our Savior showed us how good and kind he is. He saved us because of his mercy, and not because of any good things that we have done. God washed us by the power of the Holy Spirit. He gave us new birth and a fresh beginning. God sent Jesus Christ our Savior to give us his Spirit. Jesus treated us much better than we deserve.
