10 WHY SHOULD WE BE PEACEMAKERS? Blessed are the peace makers, for they shall be called the sons of God (Matt 5:9, NAU, Greek NT) Blessed are those who pursue peace, for they shall be called sons of God (Matt 5:9, Hebrew Matthew acc. to Shem-Tov, George Howard trans.) God Is an Eternal Being of Peace. Jesus Is the Greatest Peacemaker. Fallen Men Are in a Sorry State of Not Being at Peace with God and One Another. God Made Restoring Men s Peace with God and with One Another His Mission; and It Should Be His Sons, too.

11 WHEN SHOULD WE NOT JUDGE? 7 1 Judge not, lest you be judged. (Heb. Matt. 7:1-2) 7 1 Do not judge so that you will not be judged. (Grk Matt 7:1-2, Eng. NAU) It Is NOT a Prohibition of Making any Judgment! We Must Judge/Discern Right & Wrong, Good & Evil (Matt 5:20; 7:6,15; Ps 141:5; Prov 9:8; 11:13) It Is a Command of Not Being Judgmental! A Judgmental Person Is Proud & Hypocritical, Judging Others by a Higher Standard than the One on Self. We Must Be Responsible to God, Consistent in Acts; Strict to Self, Kind to Others, (1 Cor 2:15; Rom 2:1; 14:4)

12 HOW SHOULD WE NOT JUDGE? 2 With what judgment you judge, and with what measure you use, it will be measured to you. (Heb. Matt. 7:2) 2 For in the way you judge, you will be judged; and by your standard of measure, it will be measured to you. (Grk Matt 7:1-2, NAU) We Must Learn to Live with the Rule of Reciprocity (Think from Another Person s Perspective). We Must Not Judge Others Wrongly: Officiously, Presumptuously, Hypocritically, Rashly, Unwarrantedly, Unjustly/Unfairly, Unmercifully Arthur Pink

13 WHEN SHOULD WE JUDGE? We Must Not Become Fault Finders of Others. 3 Why do you see the straws in the eyes of the other persons but not see the beam in you own eyes? We Must Radically Sanctify Ourselves First. 4 How is it that you say to the other person: Wait for me a while and I will cast the straw our of your eyes, (and) behold the beam is in your own eyes? Only after Sanctifying Ourselves, We Can Help Others. 5 Hypocrite, first cast the beam out of your eyes and afterwards you will cast the straw out of the eye of your fellowman. (Heb Matt 7:3-5)

14 WHEN SHOULD WE JUDGE? We Must Not Become Fault Finders of Others. 3 Why do you look at the speck that is in your brother's eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye? We Must Radically Sanctify Ourselves First. 4 Or how can you say to your brother, 'Let me take the speck out of your eye,' and behold, the log is in your own eye? Only after Sanctifying Ourselves, We Can Help Others. 5 You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother's eye. (Grk Matt. 7:3-5 NAU)

15 LEARN TO PROTECT YOURSELF 6 Again he said to them: Do not give holy flesh to the dogs, nor place your (pearls) before swine, lest (they) chew (them) before you and turn to rend you. (Heb. Matt. 7:6) 6 "Do not give what is holy to dogs, and do not throw your pearls before swine, or they will trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you to pieces. (Matt. 7:6 NAU) Some People Are Beyond Help (or Your Ability to Help). They Will Not Recognize Truth or Respond to Good Will. Making Such Judgment of Other s Character Is Wisdom for Self Preservation.

16 HAVE FAITH IN THE FATHER 7 Ask from God and it will be given to you, seek and you will find, knock and it will be opened to you. 8 Everyone who asks will receive, by the one who seeks it will be found, and to the one who calls it will be opened. 9 Who is there among you whose son asks him for a piece of bread and he gives him a stone? 10 Or if he should ask for a fish, he gives (him) a snake? 11 But if you being evil come to place good gifts before yourselves, so much the more your father who is in heaven will give his good spirit to those who seek him. (Heb Matt 7:7-11)

17 HAVE FAITH IN THE FATHER 7 "Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. 8 "For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened. 9 "Or what man is there among you who, when his son asks for a loaf, will give him a stone? 10 "Or if he asks for a fish, he will not give him a snake, will he? 11 "If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give what is good to those who ask Him! 18 HAVE FAITH IN THE FATHER The Promise of Seek and you shall find Does Not Apply to Nonbelievers or Wealth Seekers. The Context of the Promise Shows That It Was Meant for Believers (Sons of God), Who Volunteered to Become Servants/Workers of God (Peacemakers) in Evangelism, They Met Difficult Situations (Dogs/Swine), They Only Have One Source of Power: Prayer Life! Peacemakers Are Working in Battlefields. It Is Dangerous and There Is Nothing Easy. Peacemakers Must Have a Good Prayer Life! Talk more to God about men than to men about God Richard Wurmbrand (Founder of Voice of the Martyrs)

19 LIVE BY THE GOLDEN RULE 12 Everything you wish that men should do to you, do to them; this is the Torah and the words of the prophets. (Heb Matt 7:12) 12 "In everything, therefore, treat people the same way you want them to treat you, for this is the Law and the Prophets. (Matt. 7:12 NAU) The Negative Golden Rule: Do NOT do unto others what you do NOT want to be done on you. It Exists in Hinduism, Buddhism, Confucianism, Judaism and Islam. The Positive Golden Rule: Do unto others what you want to be done on you is in Only the Bible (Lev19:18; Matt 7:12; Luke 6:31,35-36; Eph 5:21-30). If Men Change from Self-Love to Loving God and Others, We Would Live in a Perfect World.

24 FROM ABRAHAM TO NT SAINTS Abraham Was Passive in Making the Peace Covenant with Abimelech. Abimelech Saw that Abraham Was a Man of God (Who Protects and Blesses Him, and Those Who Are at Peace with Him), therefore They Made the Peace Covenant. NT Saints Are Commanded to Actively Pursue Peace, Not for Self s Sake Only, but for God and Others. After Have Done This, They Are Recognized as Sons of God, for They Do the Work of God. Having the Indwelt Holy Spirit, NT Saints Are Expected More than Abraham (OT Saints). To Him More Is Given. More Is Required.
