7 Monday Morning This week we re going to look at a few Psalms, which can be described as the songs of God s people. Think about the songs our culture sings. What do they say about our society? What message is being taught? Tonight, we ll look at Psalm 1. Write out Psalm 1:

8 What does the Psalmist warn us not to do in verse 1? What are some examples of this in our culture? What does it mean to delight in something? How can you delight in the law of the Lord? Would you say you are living a life of righteousness and delighting in God s Word? What gets in the way? What do you need to change in order to avoid the way of the wicked? What steps will you take? Write a prayer to God. Give thanks to God for sending Jesus and giving us His Word. Include any concerns for you or others

15 Wednesday Morning Reflect on God s world and His Word and how they show His unmatched glory and splendor. Consider how we tend to take for granted both the world and God s Word. Read Romans 1: What do these verses tell us about creation and our responsibility to know God? Why do people choose to not believe in God? Look at Psalm 19:7-9 again. Aside from reading the Bible, how can we tap into the benefits of God s Word that the psalmist lists? What are some ways you can dwell on God s Word more? Write a prayer based on Psalm 19:14. Thank God for revealing His glory to us through the world and His Word. Ask Him to open your eyes to His creation and to Scripture in a new way

What are you placing your desires here on earth in that are not glorifying to God? Write out a prayer to God. Ask Him to help you draw closer to Him as you pray and read His Word. Think about others in your life who do not know Christ and need to hear the truth of the gospel

23 Friday Morning Read Psalm 95:1-9 again. How do you feel about Sunday worship with other believers at church? Why are both public and private worship important? How can we keep God s greatness at the center of both our private and public worship? What distracts you most from focusing your heart on God s greatness? What is one step you might take to overcome those distractions?

24 Consider the process it takes to harden one s heart to God. Think about and list some ways you can open your heart to the Lord and His plan for your life. Pray about what God would have you do. Think about God s creation and how it magnifies Him and points to a Creator. Are you worshiping the creation or the Creator? How can the splendor of creation move you to worship the Creator and honor Him as Savior and King? Humbly come before God in prayer. Ask Him to keep your heart pure and to guard you from the enemy and his distractions. Thank God for Jesus and spend some time in adoration and worship of the one true King
