3 3 PHILOSOPHY AND PURPOSE NORTH GEORGIA BAPTIST COLLEGE (NGBC) is a local church ministry that is designed to prepare men and women for serving the Lord. Our philosophy is local church oriented. We believe the hope for our country will come from the local church, and the training is designed to help make a difference in lives. NGBC is distinctly Baptist in its philosophy and purpose and is dedicated to promote and defend Biblical truths held by Baptists throughout the centuries. Our staff is dedicated to produce students who love the Lord and His work. The college will provide basic training for Preachers, Sunday School Teachers, Christian School Teachers, Evangelist, and Missionaries. We invite any serious Bible student to come be a part of NGBC. We here at NGBC have a dual burden to provide a means of education for full-time pastors, and Christian workers who cannot leave to go to a Bible College. At the same time, we also want to train young men and women who could leave families for a period of time to get a Biblical education but still go back on the weekends to minister with their local pastor in their local New Testament church. The primary focus of the ministry of NGBC is the student who may not have the time or some that may not have the resources to attend a full-time Bible College. Night classes that meet one or two nights a week, depending upon your need and degree, were designed with the needs of this student in mind. The class lecture is supplemented with out-of-class weekly reading assignments and homework to meet the educational criteria for the student just like he was in class every day. NGBC holds strongly to the philosophy of local church autonomy. We believe the local church has a God given authority to evangelize the world with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We believe the pastor of the church is the most qualified individual for the training of preachers and making disciples. Therefore, our goal is to assist the local

4 pastor in the training of preachers and Christian workers by providing the necessary tools for education and discipleship. By providing educational opportunities under the direction and authority of the local church, students desirous of obtaining Biblical training can do so without having to leave their local church to attend Bible College elsewhere. This keeps the students involved in the ministry of their local church while gaining an education which is consistent with the philosophy and doctrines of their pastor and church leaders. 4 Administration President Vice-President Financial Advisor Academic Dean Dean of Students Department of Bible Department of Missions Secretary Timothy McCulley Steve Kirkpatrick Sharon Gabehart Tricia Kirkpatrick Tim McCulley Steve Kirkpatrick Austin Gardner Debra McCulley Faculty Lena Carver Jeremy Fincher John Dorsey Austin Gardner Steve Hensley Dale Kidd Steve Kirkpatrick Tricia Kirkpatrick Timothy McCulley Debra McCulley Daniel Woods English, Math Bible Bible Bible, Missions Computer Bible, Apologetics Bible, Missions Bible, Christian Education Bible, Christian Education, Missions Bible, Christian Education Bible, Christian Education

These Scriptures are the final authority in all matters of faith and practice. The Bible reveals God, the fall of man, the way of salvation, and God s plan and purpose in the ages. NGBC holds true to the position that the King James Bible is the inspired Word of God. (II Timothy 3:16; II Peter 1:20-21) We use only the King James Bible.

6 Sovereign God God is a person, eternally existing as a Trinity in unity - Father, Son, and Holy Spirit - three persons, but one God. (Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 28:19; I Corinthians 8:6) 6 Son of God Jesus Christ, eternally existing, is the only begotten Son of God, who became a man totally apart from sin, being conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary, and is the true God and true man. (Luke 1:30-35; John 1:1-5; Philippians 2:5-8; Colossians 1:15) Sin Man was created in the image of God but fell through sin, bringing not only physical death but also spiritual death, separation from God. Now all mankind is totally depraved, having inherited a sinful nature, bent toward sin, and has become sinners by practice in thought, word, and deed. (Genesis 1:26-27; 2:16-17; 3:19; Romans 3:10-23; 6:23) Sacrifice The Lord Jesus Christ suffered and died as a substitutionary sacrifice for the sins of the whole world. He arose from the dead in the body in which He was crucified. He ascended into Heaven in that glorified body where He is seated at the right hand of God the Father as Head of the Church, making intercession for the saints as our High Priest. (Luke 24; Acts 1:9-11; Romans 5:8-10; Ephesians 1:20-23; I Peter 3:18) Salvation Man is lost and must be born again to enter the kingdom of God. Salvation is by grace alone through personal faith in the finished work of Christ on the cross. The believer is thus eternally secure. (John 1:12; 3:3-7; Ephesians 2:8-9)

7 Church We believe the church was founded by Christ. We believe the church is a local, visible body of believers, scripturally baptized and united on the principles of God s Word for the purpose of making, baptizing, and teaching disciples. (Matthew 16:18; 28:19-20; Ephesians 3:21) Second Coming The Lord Jesus Christ Himself is coming again in the air at any moment to call up His saints and to reward their service. The unbelievers will go through a period called the Tribulation. After which Christ will return visibly to the earth to set-up His millennial Kingdom with one thousand years of righteous rule. After this, the unbelievers of all ages will stand at the Great White Throne to be judged and cast into the Lake of Fire, separated from God forever, while the believers spend eternity in the fullness of the joy in Heaven with the Lord. (Matthew 24:29-42; I Thessalonians 4:16-18; Revelations 19:11; 20:15) Sign Gifts Charismatic Issue - We believe the sign gifts, specifically speaking in tongues and prophecy, were temporal and were exclusively used as signs to the Jews and ceased with the completion of the Scriptures. 7 Remove not the ancient landmark, which thy fathers have set. Proverbs 22:28

Church attendance will include all regularly scheduled services of your church or Philadelphia Baptist Church. Permission for any variance from this requirement must be approved on an individual basis by the Dean of Students. College Attendance Unexcused Absentees: Students are allowed three unexcused absences in each class per semester. If a student misses more than three classes unexcused then they will fail the class for that quarter. Each student must remember that classes missed unexcused does count against your 33

(Husband, Wife, Children, Mother or Father) Mandatory work If a student is required to stay and work over they are allowed to miss five of the 12 weeks due to mandatory work.
