2 CONNEC IONS from your Pastor s Heart Don t Take a Vacation! I have always loved summer. School is closed and the pools are open. Refreshing, ruby-red, ice cold watermelon! Fishing. Cookouts. Shorts and T-shirts. Excursions to the beach, lake and mountains. Summer is a wonderful time to slow down, relax and rejuvenate...it is the time for vacations. However, don t take a vacation from walking with God and serving His purpose. Don t take a vacation from daily and weekly worship. Don t take a vacation from studying God s word and interceding for this broken world. Don t take a vacation from faithful stewardship and service. After all, these spiritual basics are not a burden but a blessing that creates perennial refreshment. May God recalibrate you this summer as you take some time out while staying spiritually tuned in. What s more, remember that God never takes a vacation from you. God is faithful. Through whom you are called into fellowship with His Son, Christ Jesus, our Lord. Senior Adult Ministry Now is a great time to join our JOY Singers as we prepare for our Patriotic Musical on Sunday, July 12. Rehearsals are held each Thursday in June at 10:00 am in Stakely Choir Suite. Join us for instruction and inspiration at the Billy Graham Training Center at The Cove in Asheville, North Carolina on Monday, July 20 through Thursday, July 23. Afterwards, we will tour the Biltmore Estate. Cost is $425 per person (double) and $610 per person (single) which includes transportation, conference fee, lodging, meals, and Biltmore admission. Our speaker will be Lon Allison, pastor at Wheaton Bible Church in Chicago. The music will be led by Steve Amerson, known as America s Tenor. A non-refundable deposit of $100 per person is due at signup and the final payment is due June 20. The Caring Center is looking for two volunteers to assist us at the front desk. One volunteer on Tuesday afternoons and one volunteer on Thursday afternoons.
