Thanks be to God. 6 Sympathy: It is with deep sadness that we share the loss of our beloved Ruth Elkas Atto who died peacefully on Thursday morning. We send our condolences to her husband Jim and siblings Gladys, Myrna, Emcee, Sam and Steve and their children and grandchildren. Ruth was baptized at Plymouth, now Plymouth-Trinity, and played and served here her entire life. She touched the lives of all of us here as she did in the many other areas of her employed and volunteer life. We are grateful for the life and the work of Ruth and will remember her. Ruth s funerals will take place at Plymouth-Trinity at 11 AM on Friday, May 27 th preceded by visitation at the church at 9 AM. There will also be visiting at Steve L. Elkas Funeral Home (4230, Bertrand-Fabi) on Thursday from 2 to 4 PM and from 7 to 9 PM. A Christian meditation group is meeting in the chapel on Thursdays, 11 AM to 12 noon. Today Welcome to our Malagasy visitors who are with us today, a group from the Canadian branch of the Church of Jesus Christ in Madagascar, whose visit is organised by our own Nadia Andriamahefa! Go and preach the Good News is the theme of their stay. After the worship service, the group of about 100 will sing songs of praise and provide a Malagasy meal for our Mission and Service Birthday/Anniversary luncheon. Hallelujah! - 5 -

Outreach Projects We stand in solidarity with our sisters and brothers in Fort McMurray. Our heartfelt prayers go to those who have lost their homes in the fire. The United Church of Canada is accepting donations to support the response of our Alberta and Northwest Conference to this disaster. You can donate through the United Church online or by making out a cheque to Plymouth-Trinity and marking it Emergency Response - Fort McMurray. In the Community Janet McBurney has accepted the baton once again and will be participating in her 13 th Relay For Life to raise money for the Canadian Cancer Society on June 17 th. It is a life-affirming, community experience and a commitment to save more lives. Tax receipts are available upon request for donations of $10 or more. Luminaires (candles) are available for $5 and are personalized in honour of those battling cancer or in memory of those who lost the fight. 8 A NEW CREED We are not alone, we live in God's world. We believe in God: who has created and is creating, who has come in Jesus, the Word made flesh, to reconcile and make new, who works in us and others by the Spirit. We trust in God. We are called to be the Church: to celebrate God's presence, to live with respect in Creation, to love and serve others, to seek justice and resist evil, to proclaim Jesus, crucified and risen, our judge and our hope. In life, in death, in life beyond death, God is with us. We are not alone. Thanks be to God.
