Outreach projects The Cancer Society's annual daffodil campaign is now under way. If you would like to order daffodils, please see Pam or Michael Eby. The daffodils will be distributed on Sunday April 10 th, and the cost is $10 for 10 flowers. Lenten share calendar: This year we supported the local settlement agency for refugees and other immigrants, Service d aide aux Néo-Canadiens (SANC). Today and subsequent Sundays, we can return our Lenten donations. Moisson Estrie: Food banks throughout Canada are facing a crisis due to the recent dramatic rises in the price of fresh produce, especially vegetables, caused by climate changes in the US and the lower value of the Canadian dollar. This also results in more people needing help. Food banks will thus be relying more on dried and canned vegetables; please consider buying an extra one of these items for Moisson Estrie each week during the winter months. Check their website for further information: In the Community Murder Mystery dinner fundraiser: Saturday, April 2 nd at 6:00 PM at Ayer s Cliff Elementary school; come solve the crime that will occur on Queen Elizabeth s 90 th birthday. The play is written and directed by Mead Baldwin. Mechoui dinner, dessert and show for $30 with proceeds benefiting Massawippi Valley Refugee Support Group. 6 St. Francis Valley Naturalists Club: Next meeting is set for Wednesday, March 30 th, 2016 at 7:00 PM. Our speakers will be Ariane Orjikh, Robert Benoit, and Erich Peter Smith and they will be talking on the subject of Memphremagog Conservation. The meeting will be held, as usual, at the Amadee Beaudoin Community Center (10 Samuel Gratham, Lennoxville). Feel free to invite friends and family, as well as anybody you know who may have property along Lake Memphremagog. A Christian meditation group is being formed. Meditation, also known as contemplative prayer, is the prayer of silence and listening. Psalm 46:10 states: Be still and know that I am God. P: Let us pray, Lord of Life, C: You gave us the greatest gift of all, our Saviour Jesus Christ. We ask that you accept the gifts we bring: our goods, our time, our talents and ourselves. Use them as you want. P: Indeed, you are worthy of praise, especially on this Resurrection Day. Through Christ the faithful are in you who raised him from the dead and gave him glory. Our faith and hope are in you, O God. C: All praise and honour and glory is yours, O God! You rescue us from the power of death and give us life eternal. P: For the Lord is risen! C: Christ is risen indeed! P: We rejoice with all your people of every time and place to proclaim the glory of your name: Holy, holy, holy Lord, God of power and might, heaven and earth are full of your glory. Hosanna in the highest. Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord. Hosanna in the highest. It is Jesus, the Risen Christ, who joins us together as a community of broken but hopeful believers: loving what he loved, living what he taught, and striving to be his faithful servants in our time and place. In this meal we remember Jesus, his promises, and the price he paid for who he was, what he said and what he did

8 COMMUNION LITURGY EASTER, MARCH 27th, 2016 page 2 On the night before Jesus died, he took a loaf of bread, gave thanks, broke it, and said, Take and eat, whenever you do this, remember me. After supper, Jesus took the cup, and poured, saying, This is the new covenant, remember me. We do remember. We remember his life of love, his friendship, his teaching, his dying and his rising to life again. In sharing this meal, we live out the mystery of our faith: Christ has died, Christ is risen, Christ will come again. You bless this bread and this cup, the wheat and the grape, the farmer and the harvest, the seed and the sower. In the sharing of these simple elements in community, we may really meet you. Through Christ, in Christ, and with Christ, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, all glory is yours, God most holy, now and forever. Maranatha! Come Lord! Amen.
