5 SCRIPTURE READING Luke 5:27-32 After this, Jesus went out and saw a tax collector named Levi sitting at the tax office, and he said to him, Follow me. So, leaving everything behind, he got up and began to follow him. Then Levi hosted a grand banquet for him at his house. Now there was a large crowd of tax collectors and others who were guests with them. But the Pharisees and their scribes were complaining to his disciples, Why do you eat and drink with tax collectors and sinners? Jesus replied to them, It is not those who are healthy who need a doctor, but those who are sick. I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.

9 QUESTION SHEET The Poison of Sin: Part II Genesis 3:10-24 One of the inevitable results of guilt and shame is self-justification. Adam justifies himself by blaming Eve; Eve justifies herself by blaming the serpent. Our only hope of being reconciled to God, however, is for God to justify us, for God to vindicate us. Selfjustification cannot cut it, for we are guilty; in fact, self-justification is merely one more evidence of idolatry the idolatry of thinking we have the resources to save ourselves, the idolatry that is still so impressed by self that it cannot readily admit guilt. - D. When God pronounces death as a consequence to sin, is this physical or spiritual? Or both? 3. To whom is Genesis 3:15 referring to? How would the serpent be crushed? 4. Why does God not wipe out Adam and Eve? Why does He not wipe out rebels?

Monday, December 24 at 6:30 pm EMBC hosts a Christmas Eve service, please come for an enjoyable evening of singing together and watching a play being put on by Kids Loft and a few members of the congregation. EMBC Youth Towel Drive: Siloam Mission is in desperate need of new or gently-used bath towels. If you would like to contribute, there are two large boxes in the coffee garden by the North stairs where you can drop off your donation until December 23 rd. Rehearsals for those in Kids Loft s production during the Christmas Eve Service will be held on December 8, 15 and 22 (all Saturdays) from 10:00am 12:00 pm. If your children are involved, please try to get them here on those days. Parents, please have your children at the church by 5:30 pm on December 24 th in order for final preparations. Christmas Cheer Board donations will be accepted until Sunday, December 9 th. Christmas Boxes will be placed in the front lobby, cash or cheque donations can be given to the church office (note: Christmas Cheer Board). You can find a list of needed items on the info desk.
