Operation Christmas Child This week, Deborah and I joined nine others from ABC in serving a shift at the Samaritan s Purse Operation Christmas Child processing center in Boone, NC. The goal for this processing center, one of eight throughout the United States, is over 960,000 shoeboxes. The overall goal for OCC is over 9 million shoeboxes. The boxes that we packed during our shift are headed to children in the African country of Ghana. Please pray for the children who receive these boxes to not only receive Christmas joy through the gifts enclosed but more importantly to receive the joy of salvation in the good news of Jesus Christ, who is the reason for this season! We extend thanks to Charlene Phelps and all her helper-elves who worked to receive, pack, and transport OCC shoeboxes here in Abingdon. Thank you for giving and praying in support of this ministry. We processed 2,901 shoeboxes to the glory of God through ABC this year. Flood Bucket Missions Project Praise the Lord. We have received $1, toward the disaster relief flood bucket missions project. The supply of these buckets has been severely depleted by responses to Hurricanes Florence and Michael earlier this year. Our local Abingdon Lowes will provide buckets already packed with the necessary supplies for $42.75 each. This means that we will be able to provide 41 flood buckets through your generous support. Thank you for helping re-stock flood buckets for use in disaster response. Stay tuned for plans regarding ABC missions trips this spring to help restore hurricane-damaged homes in NC.
