Approach to the Curriculum Prayer Spaces In Schools enables students to explore faith and spirituality from a broadly Christian perspective in a safe, creative and interactive way. This workshop will explore how to run a prayer space with your local school, how prayer spaces have impacted the lives of young people in schools, and consider how you can come up with new prayer activities for prayer spaces. This session will provide an opportunity to engage with the idea of introducing What If Learning? to your school. This approach to the curriculum offers a faithfully Christian way of enhancing teaching and learning which embeds Christian values, nurtures Christian virtues and encourages character development. 16 TRAINING OPPORTUNITIES - SCHOOLS NETWORK MEETINGS Heads of RE network Meetings These will take place on the following dates: 24th November th June am-12noon This is a network meeting for all Heads of RE in C of E Schools, academies and affiliated schools. It provides an opportunity for Heads of RE to meet together to share good practice, network with one another, offer support to colleagues and be updated on current issues in RE, both nationally and locally, as they arise. All meetings are held at. School Chaplain Network Meetings These will take place on the following dates: 1st October 28th January 26th May All from 12 noon-2pm at RE co-ordinators network meetings These will take place as follows: 22nd October 2014, St John s C of E Primary School, Worksop 4.15pm -6pm 9th February, 2.30pm-4.15pm 16th June, Worksop Priory C of E Primary School 4.15pm-6pm These network meetings will address current issues in the teaching of RE, including preparation for the implementation of the new Nottinghamshire Agreed Syllabus for RE in September 2015 and practical resources and ideas to use in the classroom.

18 Service Level Agreement and training course fees The changing role of the DBE and the changing needs of schools and academies means we are constantly revising the Service Level Agreement. We currently offer 3 levels of support, aiming to keep costs as low as possible, as we are aware of the need to balance budgets in tough economic times. Bronze: all our schools receive some core services free of charge Silver: additional support Gold: enhanced level support With respect to training, the services offered are as follows: Bronze Silver Gold Access to network meetings for headteachers, NQTs, Re co-ordinators/heads of RE Ongoing and developing partnerships with LAs and National College on schools behalf Access to Resources Centre Discount on diocesan training events (25%) excluding Annual Leadership conference Free Foundation governor Induction training Two free twilight or short sessions from a member of the Education team chosen from list in SLA brochure Discount on diocesan training events (50%) excluding Annual Leadership Conference. 10% Discount on Annual Leadership Conference (two places per school) Free Foundation governor induction training Three free half day or long sessions from a member of the Education Team chosen from list in SLA brochure The capacity of our team has increased and we have also found some additional partners to enhance our offer. Please note the final deadline for membership is Friday 23rd October 2015 (October half term), after which we will charge schools the full cost for training courses.
