1 Calling all Junior High Students! Do you ever panic because you don t have your Service hours completed? Have you ever wished that service hours were more fulfilling than cleaning teachers classrooms? If you are one of these people then come to The John Paul II building On May 22 At 1:00. There will be a speaker from Volunteer Odyssey Of Memphis. We will learn about opportunities to make our city a better place. Your parents can come too.

2 Volunteers and Opinions Needed! Several Home & School officer positions are filled, but several others are still open. The H&S President, Gretchen Brown, would love to fill these positions before summer comes, so please contact her at or if you are interested in a leadership role. Please follow the link below to complete a short Home & School survey. Your input is vital to planning for the school year.

3 ST. LOUIS GOLF TEAM (5 th -8 th Grade Boys and Girls) The golf team usually practices on Saturday mornings. We play one or two 9-hole rounds per week during the season, which runs from late- August to mid-october. Transportation to matches is usually provided from the school to the course. I am the head coach. Additional parent volunteers are needed. Your child is welcome to play another sport, too, as long as the other coach agrees; however, availability for practice and matches will affect playing time. We hope you will join us. 10 Summer Tutoring for Reading and Math I am offering tutoring and enrichment for this summer to rising 1 st, 2 nd, and 3 rd graders to ensure a successful transition into the next grade. I have put together a schedule for this summer. The focus of these tutoring sessions will be to assist with summer reading selections and summer math assignments set up by your upcoming teachers. Rising 1 st graders will meet on Mondays 10:30-11:15 (Reading), 11:30-12:15 (Math) Rising 2 nd graders will meet on Tuesdays 10:30-11:15 (Reading), 11:30-12:15 (Math) Rising 3 rd graders will meet on Wednesday 10:30-11:15 (Reading), 11:30-12:15 (Math) These sessions will take place the weeks of June 11 th, June 18 th, June 25 th, July 16 th, and July 23 rd Cost: $25 per session.
