1 Calendar of Intercessions Michaelmas - Christmas 2018

2 Welcome to the redesigned Prayer Calendar for the Diocese of Rochester. For those of you who found the previous format a little unwieldy, hopefully you will find this version a little slimmer. The Anglican Communion cycle of prayer is no longer listed here, but can be found at Sunday entries, too, while still being for some of the bigger pictures in our Diocese (sometimes geographical, sometimes issues or activities) are now (usually) simply one or two lines of text. We have retained the double cycles of prayer now parishes and community. This is an attempt to be a little more even handed with the additional groups who are prayed for as the year turns, and to include our church schools and chaplaincies in our prayers. Soon we are hoping to include our Companion Parishes in these cycles. We have also retained the liturgical links in the calendar the calendar of saints and the liturgical colours to keep the connection between our intercessions and the wider rhythms of our prayer. Finally, there is space in the daily entries for you to note any prayer requests that have been made to you or your parish, or any special interests you want to remember in your prayers. This prayer calendar can also be found in the PrayerMate app ( and so we will, next year, only be ing this document to those who have asked for it. It will, of course, still be available on the diocesan website ( Please contact me with any comments or suggestions bishopscourt@rochester.anglican.org or I will also be pleased to provide large print copies to any who would find that helpful.
