2 2/9 22ND SUNDAY IN Eucharist 3/9 SAINT GREGORY THE GREAT, POPE, DOCTOR FEAST This week's sees a really special event in the Catholic Church - The Eucharistic Congress. This super special event hasn't happened in a very long time in our country and it gives us all a chance to reflect on the Eucharist at the heart of our faith. It's a time to think about how important it is to be part of a community where Jesus is present and it's a celebration of who we are as a Church. Think this week about the Church - how does it feel to be part of a faith community? 5 23/9 25TH SUNDAY Inclusion 24/9 OUR LADY OF WALSINGHAM Jesus calls all people to follow him. He often caused outrage by being friends with the kinds of people society didn't like. He wasn't afraid to reach out to those people left out by the world and he worked hard to find a way to include them in what he was doing. This week we celebrate the feast of St. Vincent De Paul. 8 14/10 28TH SUNDAY IN Relationships 15/10 SAINT TERESA OF ÁVILA, VIRGIN, DOCTOR This week we celebrate a number of special Holy men and women. Each of them had a special relationship with God. St Teresa of Avila has an often difficult relationship with God and found a way to connect through prayer. She didn't find it easy though and it reminds us that any relationship we have takes time, effort and work, especially our relationship with God. 9 21/10 29TH SUNDAY IN Encounter 22/10 MONDAY OF WEEK 29 OR SAINT JOHN PAUL II, POPE The definition of an Encounter is "An unexpected meeting". We can encounter Christ in lots of different places but maybe this week we can think about finding Christ in those places we don't expect to. Maybe we should also think about how we can take Christ to unexpected places too. We can be the face of Christ to other people and by trying to live our lives like him we can help other people meet him, even if they don't expect it! 10 28/10 30TH SUNDAY Saints 29/10 MONDAY OF WEEK 30 The Saints are a fascinating part of our Church history and tradition. A saint is one of those men and women who in their life, and often their death, set us an example of how to live a life for God. They were not all perfect however! Often they made bad choices and mistakes in their lives too before turning back to God.
