Metropolitan Philip Saliba was honored, celebrating the 80 th anniversary and the 45 th of his bishopric, and the convention s organizers: Fr. Nicholas Dahdal the Servant of St George- Cicero, Raed Swiss the President of the Organizing Committee. Metropolitan Philip honored as well the permanent honorary President in the diocese Dr. George Farha who was absent from the convention for health reasons, for his important contribution in the diocesan life. His wife Mrs. Branda Farha was delivered a shield of honor. This activity ended with the blessing of Metropolitan Boulos Saliba, the Shepherd of Australia and New Zealand diocese. Charbel Maron the Servant of St Maron Parish Minneapolis, in the attendance of the Vice-President the elected Bishop Robert Rabbat the Servant of Our Lady the Annunciation Roman Melkite Parish in Boston, Msgr. Joseph Lahoud the Servant of Our Lady of the Cedars Maronite Parish and the Coordinator in the Council of Oriental Churches, Dr. Bassam Rizk the President of Tele Lumiere America friends and the members: Bishop Gregory Mansour the Pastor of Brooklyn Maronite Diocese, the Chorbishop Alfred Badawi the Servant of Our Lady of Lebanon, Chicago, Fr. Michel Najem the Servant of St Nicholas Antiochian Orthodox Parish Los Angeles, July Abboud, in addition to the TV General Manager Jacques Kallassi and the Programs Director Marie-Therese Kreidy from Lebanon, and Noursat Chairman of the Board Elie Mojaes from Canada. During the 2-day meetings, all issues related to the TV station were discussed. Kallassi highlighted the last year s most important achievements on all levels, the progress of the TV station in addition to the future projects. As well, Kallassi considered the challenges faced by the TV as a motivation for more development and sacrifice in spreading the Good News. The TV s General Manager mentioned his fruitful meeting with Metropolitan Philip Saliba the Pastor of the Antiochian Orthodox Diocese in North America, where programs especially in the world of immigration were discussed with further cooperation with the Orthodox Church. The chairman Msgr. Charbel Maron presented the board s situation and Noursat s role in America, its projects and activities, the challenges it faces. As well, he shares with the audience their experiences and expectations. They transmit the viewers voice to North America and their expectations of the TV and its programs. The members highlighted Noursat s important role as a means close to the Church to bring closer the believers and their pastors, churches and traditions, especially in helping the Oriental churches so that they communicate permanently with their children wherever they were, appreciating the openness and ecumenism adopted by the TV station calling for more diversity and work to overcome the obstacles such as language and the communication with the viewers, despite the financial huge difficulties that the TV channel incurs permanently. The meeting ended with a mass presided by Bishop Gregory Mansour. The board of directors honored the Chairman, Archimandrite Robert Rabbat after being appointed a bishop to St Michael Roman Melkite Catholic Diocese in Sydney, Australia, offering him a gift representing the Cedar of Lebanon having inside the relics of the Lebanese saints Charbel, Rafka and Hardini, offering him their best wishes in his new journey. The elected bishop delivered a word thanking Tele Lumiere and Noursat for their mission with the Church to transmit the Good News all over the world. It is worth mentioning that a dinner to support the TV s mission will be held on the 26 th of August at Our Lady of Lebanon Lombard, Chicago, with the invitation of the council and all the Oriental Churches.
