1 (BILINGUAL) BROCHUREأ ENGLISH VERSION INTRODUCTION TO THE CONFERENCE The Challenges Facing Arab Christians is conference sponsored by H.M. King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein of Jordan to be held on September 3 rd -4 th 2013 in Amman, Jordan with the goal of identifying and responding to the difficult situations faced by Christians throughout the Middle East in The Middle East is the birthplace of Christianity, but recent upheavals have resulted in Christian communities facing severe challenges in the region. Accordingly, the conference will seek to bring together the leaders of all the Churches of Middle Eastern Christianity and give them a voice that will be heard on the world stage. Only by clearly identifying, discussing and documenting these challenges can solutions to them be found that will, God willing, ensure the continued safety and prosperity of Middle Eastern Christianity as an indelible and essential part of the rich tapestry of the Middle East. 1
