PART ONE: "The Unique Dynamics of the Second Vatican Council" will be offered Wednesday nights February 20-March 20, 6:15 to 7:30 p.m. Highlights: historical context, theological insights, goals of church/state relations, laity participation, engagement of other religions and the modern world, and many more. The focus will be the Council itself, serving as an introduction to Part Two (following Easter) on the Vatican II documents produced. Registration cost-$8, which includes materials. More info: x230 Office of Stewardship and Development/ Catholic Foundation STEWARDSHIP REFLECTIONS: Fifth Sunday in Ordinary Time-February 9/10- In the first reading from Isaiah we get a glimpse of the ultimate aim of Christian stewardship: Giving glory to God. Holy, Holy, Holy is the Lord God of hosts! All the earth is filled with his glory! This proclamation inspires the familiar hymn we sing at the end of the Preface of the Eucharistic Prayer; a very ancient 4 proclamation in our liturgy. We were born to give God glory, and we proclaim it by the way we live the Eucharist and bear witness to the gospel of Jesus Christ. As we approach the purifying season of Lent let us ask ourselves: Are we committed to a life that gives glory to God?
