4 A MIGHTY FORTRESS IS OUR GOD A mighty fortress is our God, A bulwark never failing: Our Helper He, amid the flood Of mortal ills prevailing. For still our ancient foe Doth seek to work his woe His craft and power are great, And armed with cruel hate On earth is not his equal. 8 ALL THINGS BRIGHT AND BEAUTIFUL All things bright and beautiful, all creatures great and small, All things wise and wonderful, The Lord God made them all. Each little flower that opens, each little bird that sings, He made their glowing colors, He made their tiny wings. The purple headed mountains, the river running by, The sunset, and the morning, that brightens up the sky. The cold wind in the winter, the pleasant summer sun, The ripe fruits in the garden, He made them, every one. 15 BLEST BE THE TIE Blest be the tie that binds our hearts in Christian love! The fellowship of kindred minds is like to that above. 20 COME, YE DISCONSOLATE Come, ye disconsolate, where er ye languish; Come to the mercy seat, fervently kneel; Here bring your wounded hearts, here tell your anguish; Earth has no sorrow that heaven cannot heal.
