3 Being enriched in every thing to all bountifulness, which causeth through us thanksgiving to God (2 Corinthians 9:11). Every year, we dedicate one Sunday in the month of March as Anniversary Thanksgiving Sunday. As such, today is our 24th Anniversary Thanksgiving Sunday. This is an important and wonderful godly custom we have been observing. A thanksgiving service helps us to nurture an appropriate attitude in our hearts as we come to worship before the Lord. It helps to heighten our love and devotion to Him, who has dealt with us and bestow upon us countless blessings. Thanksgiving grabs our attention, shakes the cobwebs loose and reminds us of God s most precious gift, Jesus Christ, our great Saviour, and all the spiritual Pastoral Exhortation Pastor Prabhudas Koshy Come Before Him with Thanksgiving and material blessings that are in Christ. The Anniversary Thanksgiving Service has always held a special place in my heart. It rekindles the kind of God-centred gratitude that our Lord demands and deserves. On this occasion, my heart is stirred to serve Him with greater zeal and faithfulness. It also helps stimulate a deeper appreciation for all fellow Gethsemaneans and friends of our church. I always look forward to our Thanksgiving meal after the service, when we sit together and enjoy sweet Christian fellowship. I would like to share with you a few of the blessings that deeply touch me this year and prompt me to thank God. May your hearts also recollect some blessings that the Lord has bestowed on you through our church.

4 Weekly worship services, where the Lord is glorified and His Word is preached. Salvation of several souls, and new members who were added to our church. Co-labourers in the Lord elders, deacons, preachers, church staff, missionaries and committee members of the various ministries. Church s commitment to sound doctrine and holy life. Good progress in all our local ministries and foreign missions. Establishment of Gethsemane Bible Institute, for the training of men for the Gospel work. Provision of funds for all the ministries, particularly for the construction of the church and Bible college in Ethiopia, and for the medical treatment of our missionary, Dominino. The abundant provision of His sufficient grace in all our trials and challenges. Have you come today with grateful recollections of God goodness that you received through Gethsemane B-P Church? Biblical thanksgiving is not merely a social courtesy, but is the overflow of hearts that truly appreciate God s love and goodness. Some of us might have experienced hardships in our life and ministry in Gethsemane B-P Church. However, those who stayed attuned to God in their difficulties, I am sure, have been taught by His Spirit and His Word to grow in love and service toward others. Through those tough times, our faith has been strengthened and our hearts have been sanctified. So we need to give thanks to God for those rough and tough experiences as well. Offer unto God thanksgiving; and pay thy vows unto the most High (Psalm 50:14).

5 Anniversary Greetings Dear Pastor, the Church Session and all our Beloved Brothers and Sisters, Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ (Ephesians 1:3). It is with great joy and thanksgiving to our Lord that I greet you all on the occasion of your 24th Anniversary on behalf of Gethsemane BPC, Cebu and all its ministries, including Gethsemane Bible Institute and The Gethsemane Care Ministry. Anniversaries are special occasions to rejoice and reflect upon the Lord s goodness and faithfulness in seeing us through yet another year of service and labour in the ministry. And indeed, there are just so many reasons to rejoice and be glad in the Lord, having seen His mighty hand in all your undertakings for the Gospel s sake. To the mother church, please know that we are with you in the spirit as you give praise and glory unto God. Please receive our warm and heartfelt greetings as well as our thanksgiving for your burden and selfless giving to the work of the Gospel in many parts of the world. To Pastor Koshy, thank you for your untiring labour, love and care, as well as for your guidance and counsel. To the Church Session, your life and labour have been a great blessing to all of us. To all at the Church Resource Centre, thank you for your commitment to serve alongside our Pastor. Your labour is not in vain in the Lord (1 Cor 15:58)! Blessed Anniversary To You All! 6 Noah lived in the ark for slightly more than a year. He left the ark only when God said so (cf. Genesis 8:15-16). When he stepped out onto the ground, he saw a new earth that God had prepared for him and his family, and every living creature that was with him. The earth was made beautiful again. The trees were full-grown with fruits. The flowers were blooming everywhere. The flying creatures flew among the new forests. The cattle and creeping things went to their new home. A whole new earth was born! It was not like anything before the flood. Then spring, summer, autumn and winter began. (cf. Genesis 8:22). Junior Worshipper s Page Preacher Kelvin Lim Noah and the New Earth And God spake unto Noah, saying, Go forth of the ark, thou, and thy wife, and thy sons, and thy sons wives with thee. Bring forth with thee every living thing that is with thee, of all flesh, both of fowl, and of cattle, and of every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth; that they may breed abundantly in the earth, and be fruitful, and multiply upon the earth (Genesis 8:15-17) Noah was very thankful to God for the new earth. The first thing he did after stepping on the dry ground was to worship the LORD. He built an altar unto God and offered burnt offerings as his thanksgiving. The LORD was pleased with him. My young reader, God is able to make all things new and beautiful. Noah obeyed God s instructions and was blessed. A whole new earth was waiting for him and his family. The LORD s blessing is with those who obey Him. Let us follow Noah, and obey God s every instruction, and we shall receive His blessing.
