4 HOLY GOSPEL: Luke 6:17-26 The Holy Gospel according to St. Luke the 6th chapter beginning at verse 17. Glory to you, O Lord. And he came down with them and stood on a level place, with a great crowd of his disciples and a great multitude of people from all Judea and Jerusalem and the seacoast of Tyre and Sidon, 18 who came to hear him and to be healed of their diseases. And those who were troubled with unclean spirits were cured. 19 And all the crowd sought to touch him, for power came out from him and healed them all. 20 And he lifted up his eyes on his disciples, and said: Blessed are you who are poor, for yours is the kingdom of God. 21 Blessed are you who are hungry now, for you shall be satisfied. Blessed are you who weep now, for you shall laugh. 22 Blessed are you when people hate you and when they exclude you and revile you and spurn your name as evil, on account of the Son of Man! 23 Rejoice in that day, and leap for joy, for behold, your reward is great in heaven; for so their fathers did to the prophets. 24 But woe to you who are rich, for you have received your consolation. 25 Woe to you who are full now, for you shall be hungry. The Lord look upon you with favor and give you peace. 923 Almighty Father Bless the Word The Trinity Messenger - February 17, 2019 BAPTISM Today at our 10:30am worship service, Anna Grace Huberty will become God s child through Holy Baptism. Anna was born on December 17, Anna s parents are Ed and Melissa Huberty. Her Sponsors are Brad Born, Stacy Horneck, and Matthew Jensen. Pastor Bergelin will officiate. VICAR S BIBLE CLASS Vicar s Bible Class will not be held on Monday, February 18th and Thursday, February 21st. Those two dates will be made up the following week. SCRIP Shopko Cards If you know you are going to be shopping at Shopko in the near future, please buy scrip cards to pay for your items. Shopko in Sheboygan is going out of business in April and we would like to sell the remainder of our Shopko scrip cards. SPECIAL OFFERING February The February special offering is for Lutheran High School. LHS is Located in Sheboygan. Our congregation is an association member. MARK YOUR CALENDARS Vacation Bible School here at Trinity will be June 17-21, School gets out a week later this year so Vacation Bible School is a week later. Spaghetti Dinner will be held on Sunday, April 7th. The Confirmation Lock In will be held March 29-30, More information will be in future bulletins. PUT ON YOUR GAME FACE IT S FAMILY GAME DAY! Join us on Sunday, March 17th from 2-5pm for a Fun Family Game Day. It will be a great way for all who attend to get to know members of our congregation. We will be playing a FUN game called Bonco. Younger children bring your favorite game. We will have different games set up for kids to play. We are looking for Youth to help with the kids games. Snacks and beverages will be provided. There is a sign-up sheet on the table. We would love to have a huge attendance. ALL AGES ARE INVITED!! LENTEN WORSHIP March 6th (Ash Wednesday) begins our Wednesday Lenten Worship Services. Worship times are at 10:30am & 6:30pm. We will have a lunch following the morning service and from 5-6:15pm before the evening service. If you would like to work an evening meal, there is a sign-up sheet on the table in the narthex. The meal will be made for you. You will need to replenish food and clean up. Your help is greatly appreciated. 6

7 PRESCHOOL REGISTRATION AND OPEN HOUSE We are now accepting registration for Pre-school for Our pre-school open house will be Monday, March 4th from 6-7:30pm. If you know of a child that is of pre-school age, please give them a brochure. The children and parents will be able to meet our Pre-school Teacher, see the classroom and daily schedule. There are registration forms in the flyer rack in the narthex. Our pre-school is a state licensed pre-school and is offered 2-5 days a week from 8:30-11:30am. MORNING MEDITATIONS Morning Meditations is a devotion by area LCMS Pastors each morning, Monday through Friday, on WHBL-1330AM at 7:26am and at 10:45am. Meditations for the week of February 11-15, are given by St. Thomas Lutheran Church in Waldo. You may also listen to Morning Meditations at OBERAMMERGAU PASSION PLAY AND BEST OF THE HOLY LAND Rev. Tim Fraker, husband of Darci Bergelin Fraker of Trinity Lutheran Church in Weatherford, Texas is taking a trip to the Holy Land and the Passion Play in Oberammergau, Germany, June of 2020, and has invited our congregation to join them. The first part of the trip is spent in the Holy Land where we will walk through the Garden of Gethsemane, sail on the Sea of Galilee, journey to Nazareth, Bethlehem, Jerusalem, and so much more. The last week of the trip we fly to Munich and are transferred to Alpine Village. We will tour many places, but the main attraction is the Passion play. The Passion Play is a reenactment of the suffering, death and resurrection of Christ and is performed every 10 years. Performers were born in Oberammergau or have lived there for at least 20 years. Over 2000 Oberammergau villagers will participate in the 2020 Passion Play. The trip is June 15-June 27, There are brochures located on the table in the narthex describing the entire trip.
