We hear from the Sacred Scriptures Prince of Peace, Emmanuel, which means God is with us, Wonder Counselor, all terms describing the Nativity of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. In spite of many incidents around the world, in our country, and in our Church which have presented a challenge to joy and peace, let us never forget that Jesus came into the world to be its Light and Life, a light that not only overcomes the darkest days of the year, but a Light that is never extinguished. This is my first Christmas with all of you after several months of activity from the moment of my appointment this past June until my arrival on September 1 st. In this season of giving and receiving, I must say that I am filled with great joy and peace from two great gifts. The first one was two months ago when I co-directed a Pilgrimage to the Holy Land. Our visits to the places where Jesus, Mary, and the Disciples lived and breathed reaffirmed my Catholic Christian faith and Franciscan Vocation. Like never before. The second gift is being here with you as your Pastor. The loving welcome that I have received and generous offers of your time to assist me in organizing my administration and ministry to you has been without a doubt, a special gift from the Heavens. While the calendar limits Christmas to a short span of time (Sunset on Christmas Eve to 11:59 PM on Christmas Day), let us always remember and never forget that for us it is a season and a journey of life. The love, peace, joy, and generosity we associate with Christmas is meant to last every day of the year letting everyone know that God is with us. High School Youth Group Join the group in the parish hall each Sunday from 6:30-8:00 p.m. during the school year for Catholic faith study & social activities. No class on: 12/23, 12/30 and 01/06/2019.

There are no meetings June, July, August & December. Rosary for Priests The Rosary for Priests is prayed on Thursday afternoons from 3:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m. in the family room in rear of church (parking lot side). Faith Formation (K-8) The Faith Formation group meets on Wednesdays at 4:00-5:15 p.m. in the parish hall during the school year for Catholic religious education classes. High School Youth Group Join the group in the parish hall each Sunday from 6:30-8:00 p.m. during the school year for Catholic faith study & social activities. No class on: 12/23, 12/30 and 01/06/2019. The choir rehearses on Wednesday evenings at 7:00 p.m. in the choir loft of the church. If you are interested in joining, show up Wed. evening. Bible Study Join us in being renewed & transformed by the Word of God! Friday mornings 8:30-10:30 a.m. September-May in the Parish Hall. Scripture study focuses on individual books of the Bible. Ignorance of Scripture is ignorance of Christ. St. Jerome NOVENAS The Saint Anthony Novena is prayed Tuesday mornings after 8:00 a.m. Mass. Mother of Perpetual Help Novena The novena is prayed on Wednesday mornings after 8:00 a.m. Mass. Should we return to our home after a long absence, we quickly revert to its familiar speech and practices. Our deep memory is reflected in old stories and words and speech patterns. This familiarity runs like an underground river and accompanies us wherever we go. Not only do we remember, we are incorporated into and made part of a greater memory. In remembering and recollecting, we are in turn gathered up and re-collected. Today we remember Mary, a small figure travelling the country roads to visit Elizabeth. All the great pronouncements and dreams of the prophets point to this time when the Lord s words to Mary would be gathered and fulfilled.
