2 BAPTISM & CHRISMATION. Baptism in the Maronite Rite is always accompanied by Chrismation (Confirmation). Both Sacraments are given by a priest, and always in the same ceremony. Preparation to receive the Sacraments of Baptism and Chrismation is required. We encourage this to happen before the birth of your child. To read more about our policy visit ststephenmaronite.org/sacraments/ RECONCILIATION Reconciliation is available at St Matthew Catholic Church. The reconciliation rooms are located in the main church building directly near the entrance to the Daily Mass Chapel. Both the face-to-face and discreet methods are offered: Wednesdays: 6:30-7:15 p.m. (Main campus) Saturday: 4 to 5.15 p.m. (Main Campus) / pm (Waxhaw) Or by appointment. THE MYSTERY OF CROWNING (MARRIAGE) Couples must contact the pastor at least six months prior to the desired date of the wedding. To initiate the marriage preparation process or if you have questions for weddings taking place at St. Stephen, contact Father Elias at x ANNOINTING OF THE SICK The Anointing of the Sick is routinely offered during pastoral visits by the priest to homebound and ill parishioners. Please call the parish office at ext 1043 if you would like to schedule an anointing for you or a loved one. PARISH REGISTRATION Registration forms and welcome packets are available in the church office and the sacristy In Waxhaw. Membership is a condition for the reception of the sacraments of baptism, reconciliation, first Eucharist, confirmation and marriage. Registration is also required before the parish can issue a sponsorship certificate for those asked to be sacramental sponsors. You must be a registered, contributing member for at least three months before a certificate is provided or MACS voucher is approved. 3 St Stephen s Annual Parish Trip The parish trip on Sunday October 14, 2018 to Hendersonville, NC will be free of charge as a thank you for your hard work and devotion to this mission. Seats are limited to 57 seat / First come first served The Deadline for reservations October 07, For information call Bertine (919) The bus leaves St Matthew Catholic Church [School Parking Lot] at 8.30 pm, we will be back by 7 pm St Rafka s Food Festival The Saint Rafka Maronite Catholic Church in Greer SC is having its first Food Festival on Saturday October 06, 2018 from 11 to 6 pm. If you are heading to Greer, SC stop by and enjoy the hospitality and food of this beautiful Maronite Community. For more information visit Order of St Sharbel This year October 14 is designated as Order of Saint Sharbel Sunday in our Eparchy. The Order of Saint Sharbel is vitally important in providing financial and spiritual support for our seminarians, who are crucial for the future of our Maronite Church. Our next Parish Council meeting will be held on Tuesday October 09 at 7 pm at the main Campus in Ballantyne Room NLC 104. Financial Committee meeting. Our nest meeting will be on October 16, 2018 at 7 pm in Room NLC 104 Coffee Hour Procedures It became a custom at our Mission to have a coffee hour after the Divine Liturgy which brings the community all together. Starting this Sunday September 30, 2018 everyone is encouraged to bring a dessert or anything you desire to share, otherwise we will be only serving coffee. Faith Formation 2018/2019 Volunteers are needed to help at the Faith Formation Program that we are going to start at St Stephen s. The program will be for children from Kindergarten through 2nd Grade and will be twice a month. If you would like to help please contact abouna. Festival of Lebanon I would like to thank the 5th Annual Festival of Lebanon for their hard work and the successful festival that they delivered.
