1 CALL TO WORSHIP: CHRISTMAS EVE The people who walked in darkness have seen a great light; Those who dwelt in a land of deep darkness, on them has light shined." The zeal of the. Lord of hosts will do this LEAD IN TO PERIOD OF SILENT MEDITATION In the warmth and the hush of these moments, As the world once again draws quiet to hear the song of the angels, and to kneel in adoration before the manger of Bethlehem, Let us enter into a deep silence, preparing our hearts in quiet prayer, that we may receive the gift of His coming. Guide us, by the star of his love that we ~ walk in the way of peace and of brotherhood, Cheer us, through the song of the angels, that the blessing of wisdom and health, patience and love, faith and courage may rest on all who are present, Grant us this hour, the abiding presence of the spirit of the Christ Child, for We pnay the prayer he taught us, 0ur Father, who art in heaven, HallmTed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not imto temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. The ushers will then light the candle of the worshipper in each pew nearest the aisle. Each person is asked to light the candle of the person who is next to him. Candles are to be extinguished following the benediction.
