3 opening prayer We share a prayer appointed for the fourth Sunday of EPIPHANY. In Unison Descend upon us, as upon your Son, O LORD, that we may live out our baptismal covenant: to seek and serve Christ in all persons, striving for justice and peace among all nations. AMEN! We remain STANDING for the Gloria. Nehemiah 8:1-10 We are seated for the Lessons. The people of Jerusalem, who had gathered in the square near the Water Gate, told the scribe Ezra to read from the books of Moses. So Ezra, accompanied by the governor, Nehemiah, and the Levites, read from the books which the Lord had given to Israel. When Ezra had finished, he said, Do not fear or weep: for the joy of the Lord is our strength! Psalm 19 In Unison Let the words of our mouths, and the meditations of our hearts be acceptable to you, O LORD, our rock and our redeemer. 3

4 1 Corinthians 12:12-31 For just as the body has many members, and all the members, though many, are one body, so it is with the body of Christ. For we were all baptized by the same Spirit into One Body; so that the eye, for example, does not say to the hands or feet, I have no need of you. On the contrary, GOD has arranged the body so that each member, though having been given different roles, may care for one another equally. We STAND for the proclamation of the GOSPEL.
