Please come up the center aisle to the altar rail and return by the side aisle. Please let an usher know if you need communion brought to your seat. Hold out your hand to receive the bread and then eat. Guide the chalice to your mouth and drink. (Please do not dip the bread in the wine.) If you need a gluten-free host, simply raise an index finger for the priest to see and one will be provided. To receive a blessing instead of communion, simply cross your arms over your chest. 5 Announcements From Fr. John: This morning was the second of three Sunday morning Adult Formation classes on Atonement (or Soteriology, the study of salvation). Join us for the third and final class next week at 9:00 in the St. John Room as we explore this crucial theme from historical and Anglican perspectives. Our Inquirer s Gathering for October will be in the St. John Room at 9:00 on October 28 th. Also, our Associate Priest, Fr. John Fergueson is offering Tuesday Adult Formation classes. The Church Year: Christian Identity & Culture explores the Church Year and its seasons. Classes continue on October 16 th and will be offered each Tuesday through November 13 th. There will be a 3:00 p.m. and a 7:00 p.m. section of the class each Tuesday. Diocesan Convention: Convention is coming on October at the DoubleTree by Hilton, near SeaTac Airport. This is an annual event for clergy and delegates to conduct diocesan business. This year, we will be ordaining six new deacons! Any parishioner is welcome to attend, though only delegates and clergy may speak or vote. Burien Boo: Janey Montgomery is coordinating our participation in the Burien Boo, the safe trick-or-treat event for families in the downtown Burien Community. We are collecting bags of candy, apple cider and bottles of water. Please see Janey if you would like to help this community building opportunity with our neighbors! The Boo is on Saturday, October 27 th, from noon until 4 p.m. or until candy runs out. Flowers: The people of St. Elizabeth donated our altar flowers in honor of Pat Lofstedt s 99 th birthday! 8 If we can get to the true depth of the heart, what we find there is the echo of God s creative word. Each one of us is a unique kind of echo of God. This does not mean that if we uncovered our deepest consciousness, we would find the Ten Commandments written there.
